We've all seen the headlines. Florida man wrestles alligator in a tuxedo or Florida man sues after finding toenails in his ice cream.

00:00:39 - 00:00:43 | Speaker 3:

It's easy to laugh at the meme, but have you ever wondered about the human behind the headline?

Hey, I'm Frankie P.

From interviews with real people who make Florida weird. I'm pulling it up. And as I'm pulling it up, I see an arm.

00:00:57 - 00:00:57 | Speaker 8:

Stop it.

00:00:57 - 00:00:58 | Speaker 9:

I'm Mungesha Tikalur and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:01:36 - 00:01:41 | Speaker 1:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

00:02:26 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 6:

Mojo in the morning. So, you know, I got just pretty much Luke at home now, and he's at school. But Joe is away. You know, he lives in Florida. And Jacob is just finishing up school in Chicago. And so Chelsea gave me the distinct honors so that she didn't actually have to run across anything of going into my kids' rooms and cleaning the rooms out. because she wants to repaint the rooms because there's literally fingerprints all over the walls. There's head marks from when they would wrestle with each other. At one point, I look over in Joe's room and there's this perfectly shaped what looks like a basketball went through the wall, but it wasn't. It was Jacob's head when they were wrestling and doing their whole WWE thing. We're going to have Painter come and take care of it and stuff. Probably Freddie Blerta's uncle, who's a great Albanian painter. And long story short, I go through the rooms, and I want to say this. As a parent of teenage boys, don't ever just go into their room without forewarning or expecting that you're going to find something. Because I ran across more crap in these rooms. First off, why would I even go to a dispensary?

00:03:45 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really?

00:03:46 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 6:

And my kids, I'm going to say this to you. joe and jake joe hasn't lived there you know for years three years now jacob comes home for holidays you want to find weed pens i got every color weed pen i got everything you need to know with a weed pen they're all weed like literally it's kind of like you know what it's like it's like going into uh uh you know somebody's junk drawer and seeing like a junk drawer full of pens but these are weed pens, condoms, um, like Taco Bell wrappers, uh, cups. I can't have to, what's up with, and this has happened. We buy bottled water, you know, it had bottled water, like in the refrigerator. What's up with my kids taking two sips out of a fricking bottled water and grabbing more bottled water. Is that the most annoying thing ever? It really is.

00:04:32 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 2:

Sometimes it's adults and what happens is you lay down, you take two sips, you fall asleep and then you can't have stale water if it's the next morning that water is stale you drink stale

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

water yeah i'll give you stale water you buy your own water and that will be you know when you pay for it yourself guess what you'll drink every last drop out of that thing but i wanted to ask the listeners this question what was the craziest thing that you found in your teen's room or better yet.

00:05:00 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 2:

what was found by your parent in your room what did you leave in your room like i don't know if kp you just recently moved out um and got your own place but before you got your own place uh and you were living with uh the family did you have to go through your room and get rid of and discard every bit of anything that had remnants of something that could get you into uh a little

00:05:23 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 1:

trouble with mom i never left anything out i would always i had a uh like a drawer not a drawer like a little cupboard oh my god i can't speak the little case that i could put like a lock on because i just didn't want anyone to see it or like guess what they had a little thing too joe had a little

00:05:40 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 2:

thing yeah he had like he had like one of those metal boxes it looked like something that it looked like you use it at a garage sale to collect the money yeah like yeah like an old like thing and

00:05:51 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 1:

i opened up that thing and it had blunts that's where i kept all my pre-rolls and then that's Where I kept, like, candy and stuff for my siblings. Yeah.

00:06:03 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 3:

Literally right next to the pre-roll.

00:06:06 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

The candy for the siblings. I remember in high school, I went through a phase where I thought chewing was cool. Like, chewing tobacco or dipping or whatever. So, I would have one of those little spitter bottles in my room. Yeah. And it was like Coke. Like, it was in a Coke bottle. And my brother drank it one time. Oh, my God. I got busted that way.

00:06:24 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 2:

Mike, the worst out of anything, though. and you're going through your kid's room and all that stuff was going through and I actually went through in Luke's car and saw those, what are they, Zins? Or what are those things? Yeah, I've been hearing a lot about these. The tobacco, just straight on tobacco pouches or whatever the heck they are. And I was like, I screamed at him so much, man, when I, and I didn't know what the hell it was. At first, you know what I thought they were? I thought that they were mints. You know, the mints that come in like a little round circular. We're supposed to be healthier, aren't we? I don't know.

00:06:59 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 3:

So three things. Yesterday I found corn in Josiah's closet. Not sure the last time we cooked corn. When I was younger. On the cob? Like eating off the cob. Like two like. Kernels. Eating cobs. Clean cobs. Like in the closet. The corn bone. Yes, the corn bone. The corn bone. He's just lazy.

00:07:20 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 1:

He don't want to throw that away. I'm like, what are you doing right now?

00:07:23 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 3:

He needed that. That's how you get bugs, bro. When I was younger, I remember my grandma came and, like, cleaned up my room, and they had a brief intervention where I came in, I was my mom and my grandma, and she was like, Kevin, we found bottles. It was like empty alcohol bottles. Oh, man. And then I used to have a pee bottle that they came and feed. No, that's not funny. Why do we always do that?

00:07:43 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 2:

We always do that. Tawny, what did you find in your teen's room?

00:07:49 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 6:

So, actually, with my parents, it was a kitten. I went to a party, and there were kittens, and I broke one.

00:07:55 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 5:

There's so many questions.

00:07:57 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 6:

Did they let you keep it? Yeah, I kept it. Like, it's a whole life. We had to. My parents were a sucker.

00:08:06 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 5:

What kind of party has kittens that they just give away?

00:08:11 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 6:

Right? That's my question as an adult now.

00:08:14 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Misfit Steven, hi. What's happening?

00:08:18 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. Man, I've been found pizza upon these my son's best dresser. Here we go. We had to put a lock on our refrigerator because he would go in there at night and eat ice cream and just leave it out.

00:08:33 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. All the tub of ice cream. Oh, my. Wait, and he didn't finish the ice cream?

00:08:37 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 4:

We would buy yogurt one day, and the next day, the whole thing is gone.

00:08:41 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. That's a kid after my own heart. Jamie, what's going on, Jamie? you were talking about what was found in your teen's room. What's that going on?

00:08:53 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 6:

Hi. First time caller, long time listener. Yay! So,

00:09:01 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 4:

I found a flashlight. A what?

00:09:05 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 5:

Oh, wow. Those are fun.

00:09:07 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 4:

That he ordered off of Kimu.

00:09:10 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 6:

Wait a second.

00:09:13 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 2:

Who is he? Who is he?

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 4:

My 16-year-old son. No.

00:09:19 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

Your 16-year-old son had a pocket P of Fleshlight?

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 4:

Yep.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God.

00:09:27 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 4:

You can get those off. Also, how did you know he got it off, Timo? I found it.

00:09:32 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 1:

Also, isn't that one of those things that you're supposed to buy name brand? I feel like there's a quality difference.

00:09:37 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, there's a huge difference. By the way, did you?

00:09:40 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 4:

The texture's not the same. You have to be of age to buy that stuff in the store, and on Timu, he lied about his age.

00:09:48 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Jamie, did you do the whole, son, we need to have a talk before dinner type thing, or what did you do?

00:09:54 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 4:

I wanted to die.

00:09:56 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Just plop it down on the table? I wouldn't even say that. anything i would honestly i just make sure that it was clean some of these look legit oh wow sarah are you on timu yeah get off timu oh lord unbelievable by the way if you're ordering that on timu what's the price sarah what's up get a deal Hi. Mike, you want one? How are you? Good, Sarah. We were talking about what was found in your teen's room.

00:10:30 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I found a coffee can full of pee in the closet. A coffee can?

00:10:37 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 1:

A coffee can full of pee.

00:10:39 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

Also, if you're getting up to go to the closet, go to the bathroom.

00:10:44 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

You don't go to the bed. You don't even get out the bed. Yeah, and who has coffee cans? I don't even know people do coffee cans anymore. That's amazing. Selina, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:10:56 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 1:

Hi. So my little sister was in my sister's room while she was living at my grandparents' house. And she had found her toy because it was accidentally going off and had to get my grandfather to shut it off.

00:11:10 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 2:

The toy toy. Grandpa's doing that toy. Oh, my God. I can't believe, by the way, you know what? I guess it's healthy, right? It's safe for sex. What's going on, Nikki? Hi.

00:11:19 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 3:

i found another child in my daughter's room oh my god it was in the closet i found a our neighbor had ran away and the cops came and searched my house twice just because they were looking for her my 11 year old daughter led the cops to other people's houses while the child was in her closet the whole time you i walked in and saw a phone flashlight on in the closet

00:11:49 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 2:

and found her in the closet wait a second how old was the kid in the closet she was 14 and my daughter was 11 and so she was like her your daughter's friend and she was trying to run away

00:12:00 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 3:

from her parents house yeah she was the neighbor girl that had actually like babysat my daughter before and my daughter let her she was afraid she was gonna get in trouble so my daughter made like a whole barrier for her in the closet so like when the cops came and looked in the closet they saw the clothes in the laundry basket but didn't see the teenage girl behind it

00:12:20 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 2:

how long was she there oh my god did you not notice that she was bringing food or stuff up

00:12:27 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 3:

to the room no they they planned it out for like when i left to the store or stuff like that that's when she would come out and go to the bathroom or whatever by the way even came to my house to talk to me, and we were all searching for her. Like, I was out searching. My daughter was helping us search. She was 11. That is an insane story, Nikki.

00:12:49 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 2:

That's wild. So she was there for two days, and I'm sure they had to have an Amber Alert or something going on

00:12:54 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 3:

at that time, huh? Yeah, they had an Amber Alert on the news that night. Oh, my God.

00:12:59 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 2:

That is crazy.

00:13:00 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 3:

My 11-year-old was harboring a runaway, like, for two days

00:13:04 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 2:

in her closet. That is crazy. Is she in trouble for that?

00:13:07 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 3:

now my daughter's a teenager so only imagine what I deal with now

00:13:12 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 2:

yeah Mike just brought up a really good question there can she get in trouble for that did she get in trouble

00:13:18 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 3:

she did not get in trouble she got a good talking to by the local you know police officers but she was trying to protect her so that was the whole thing

00:13:29 - 00:13:51 | Speaker 2:

wow unbelievable all these calls are unbelievable I gotta take this call though because it made me chuckle when I saw it Kat, we're talking about what did you find in your teen's room? We've had people call up that found, you know, fleshlights. They found cans full of pee. They found even a child. What did you find in your kid's room?

00:13:53 - 00:14:06 | Speaker 4:

We were doing a clean sweep. And you know those plastic three drawers that you get for just junk? I was cleaning out old videotapes. And there was a turd. Oh, my God.

00:14:06 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 2:

Like a little nugget?

00:14:07 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 4:

How hard? Oh, no. Wasn't no nugget? We ain't talking no nugget. We're talking like full-on, like, poop emoji, like a horse just dropped one in the drawer. Whose turn was it? And he was about nine years old.

00:14:23 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 2:

Was it fresh? Was it?

00:14:25 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 4:

No, no, no, no, no. It was nice and, like, fossilized. It's aged.

00:14:29 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 2:

I like how Janet goes, who's? Let's DNA test it to see who's.

00:14:34 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 5:

I don't know.

00:14:35 - 00:14:41 | Speaker 2:

Why did he say that he had a duty in his drawer?

00:14:43 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 4:

It was closer. It was closer than the bathroom right outside his bedroom door.

00:14:48 - 00:14:53 | Speaker 2:

You don't want to lose your sleep. You know when you're like half awake? You're like, if I get up, I'm going to lose my sleep. What did he wipe with?

00:14:55 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

Can you put a nine-year-old up for adoption?

00:15:00 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 1:
