Let me tell you about my day yesterday. So I went to lunch with a friend who I haven't seen in a while and had an opportunity just kind of catch up with them. And I had something happen to me at the restaurant that I want everybody to kind of weigh in on. And that's not just you guys here in our studios. I want you, if you're listening to us, no matter what you're doing, if you're driving, maybe you're a do-gooder and you're going to the gym this early in the morning, or maybe you're going to school or work or wherever the heck you are. I want you to comment on this. So we sit down at the table and we get this waiter that comes over to to wait to you know to to grab our drink orders he's a really nice server I won't say his name because of the poor guy's gonna already gonna get called out for something this guy talked to us the entire time that we were sitting there and now I'm not trying to say that talking is when you're a server is a bad thing you know if you're a server bartender whatever you're in the service industry I love friendly and I love talking I like that better than somebody that just comes and just goes yeah okay you know it does does the grunting type thing you know but it was to a point where at one point I'm not kidding you when I say this to you he actually kneeled down in front of our booth and he put his arms his two arms up in like was hanging on the the end of the the table where he was like making himself comfortable and talking to us about conversation about anything like anything we were getting into and it got to a point where this is no joke he talked so long he had taken our order beforehand and he stood up and he goes all right let me take your order and I go you already took her order like he had already taken our order but he had talking so he talking so long he talked so long that he forgot that he took our order then this is the part where it got crazy because I would have been completely fine with that our order was completely wrong oh no so I'm going to ask this question of of you have you ever had a server that talked so much to you or got so involved in your conversation that when the bill finally came you wanted to split the bill with them you wanted them to actually put a little into it because they were so involved there is a place that I go to with

the kids pretty frequently and there's one server there who god love him he's so sweet but he's the same way he just has a lot to say and when i when i see him in there i i have before walked right back out because i'm like i don't feel like talking the whole time and the kneel when you said that i had to laugh because when they do the kneel and put their arms

on the table you know it's going to be a while before before your order makes it back to the

kitchen their plans are that they are going to have a good conversation and good fun that day they're going to have good company good company has finally arrived there's just a happy medium and the other thing too is and this was the thing i i noticed very talkative with all of his tables so unfortunately you you got him he came back but every time he came back you sat there and you wondered what the other tables were thinking and then you start thinking you ever had this when a server will start talking to you so much. Shannon, have you ever had it where you feel like the people in the restaurant are judging you because they think you're keeping them too long?

No, sometimes I'm like, is it okay if I eat my food now? Can I take a bite while you're talking to me? Like if my food has already come? I get random anxiety about that. But I'm like, I'm really hungry.

See, that's the thing is, no, I don't, but I would totally be that guy to, A, chat up the waiter or waitress or the other way around when I was a server, I would chat for a little bit, but I just have a lot to say. I have a lot to talk about, and I'm interested in what they are. I'm interested in them, whoever they are, too.

Yeah. So to you, you're good with it, even when you're with the kids and the family. Actually, when I'm with the kids and the family and stuff, sometimes I'd rather talk.

Yeah. Well, my daughter is very much like me, too, and she likes to do the same thing. She'll literally, I have to go, sis, sis, sis, sis, sis. Do you want nachos or do you want French fries? What would you like? Focus. Get to the point right now.

You know what's funny is that servers sometimes will come, and they do this with the kids, where they'll find something that they're doing, like a game that they're doing, or they'll find something that Cecily is wearing or whatever, and they think it's cute, and they try to befriend your children because they know that if you keep the children happy, mommy and daddy are happy, and you're going to get yourself a nicer tip at the end of the thing.

When I worked at a restaurant and I left, I could not go back for years. Because the first couple of times I went back, it was all my old coworkers. And it wasn't just one person that would sit down and talk to you. It was the entire staff that would step by and check up on you. And I went on a date one time, and I maybe said 10 words to my date. And then was like, I don't think we're going to come back here for a while.

Because there's too much.

Which I love it there, and I love them. But there's a balance.
