It's Mojo in the Morning Show. I mean, this is like the worst time that we could possibly ever be sick. I mean, and it's run through everybody now. It started with our assistant producers, then it went to me, and then it went to our producer and Shannon, and now Spike is sick. And we all have been under the weather.

00:02:17 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 7:

And you know what's crazy, too? I knew this was going to happen. Like, I feel like we've all been trying so hard to stay healthy. I don't know about you, but I've been taking the gross zinc shots every day.

00:02:30 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 6:

Zinc, vitamin D, vitamin C.

00:02:32 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 7:

Yes, vitamin D shots. I make sure I take my vitamin. I've been chugging emergency, and it still got me. So good, yeah. The studios, and being an asthmatic is always really fun when I get that nasty cough because I sound like I've been a smoker for my whole life, which I've never smoked a day in my life. But I felt so terrible after Jingle Ball. And by the way, didn't drink a Jingle Ball. I had one sip of Wes's beer, and I still-

00:02:57 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 6:

Look what I got.

00:02:58 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 7:

Oh my gosh, we're twins. We have inhalers.

00:03:00 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 6:

I never had an inhaler before, but my doctor- You've got a fancy red one. Dr. Warner gave it to me because he said that he wanted to make sure that my lungs were doing okay. Yeah. Yeah. It's funny. We have been all kind of taking care of ourselves, but now everything's going around. And the problem is, too, is we all wore masks for like the last couple of years, and everybody's now getting the flu and a virus and rsv and yeah you know yeah wednesday was though i mean i felt

00:03:25 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 7:

so terrible on wednesday after the show and um you know this every year lucy and i have this tradition of taking a mom daughter girls trip to new york city and we've done it since she was four years old and it is so incredibly special to me it's so important to her i said i this year especially i think just with a lot of changes happening you know in her life and within our family i really wanted that quality time away with her and of course i get so super sick and so i i said to her lou i don't think i can i can do it i don't think i can you know go away for a weekend when i'm feeling this bad and um and did that not go over well it did it she she it didn't go over well but then as the day went on and i think she saw how sick i was she understood and i said mom is going to do everything she can to feel better and see if we can get on this plane tomorrow afternoon and so i called her buddy dr werner and i got on antibiotics and i got on some steroids and i i took all the things um but i still just really did not feel well but i was talking to my sister about it and she's like this is what we do as parents we carry on even when we're feeling like crap for our children like that's what you do you just push through so it was a very different trip than we normally take there was lots of staying in bed and lots of room service as opposed to doing new york city with a mask by the way before people like get on me about that

00:04:50 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

yes flew to new york city but you flew to new york city and stayed in a hotel room stayed in

00:04:54 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

the the whole first day i was in the room yep couldn't couldn't even get out of bed felt better every day.

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

that i was there um but still like even by the second day we were back in the room in pajamas by seven o'clock yeah and then the reason that we go is because i love broadway and she loves broadway and so we always make it a point to see a broadway show and so we did that on saturday and um the entire second act there the two of us were with our heads put together i was out

00:05:21 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 1:

sleeping it's interesting that you uh that you say this because could you i was i was going to talk this morning about how i had like the worst time to cough did you get the cough with this too

00:05:32 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 2:

the a really gross cough yeah like where you're like where it sounds like stuff is rattling in

00:05:37 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 1:

your chest i i got the cough with mine and i also um we had a school visit for uh uh for luke and talk about worst timing on that your worst timing with your daughter going on this uh this trip to new york my worst timing taking him to a college visit to go look at a college and then the worst timing is you're coughing and hacking in the back of a probably a play right or something that you went to yes and for me we're on the tour and we're walking through the library at the university of kentucky and it's dead silence as they're studying for midterms and all you hear the whole time is and I'm coughing and Luke is like, Dad, come on, stop it.

00:06:25 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 2:

And you can't help it.

00:06:26 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

And people are all like sitting there looking at you. And then the other thing is anytime, like if you're on an airplane coughing, even if you have a mask on,

00:06:35 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 2:

everybody turns and looks at you.

00:06:37 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 1:

You might as, you honestly, you might as well be a screaming baby. You're more welcome on an airplane than a person coughing on an airplane.

00:06:47 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 2:

Well, you know, it was crazy. It was, I think, Luce was in the minority because she was one of the only ones not coughing.

00:06:54 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 1:

That whole airplane was coughing. But the funny thing is, even if the whole plane is coughing, everybody's looking at your cough, you feel like.

00:07:03 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:07:03 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 1:

Nobody's looking at anybody else's cough.

00:07:05 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

You know what sucks, though? I have elderly, you know, I live with elderly people. Seeing old people sick is the absolute worst. Oh, yeah. My grandparents got sick with this, too. We all got sick the exact same day. So this must have been simmering. But listening to old people cough, it makes me want to cry. It's like, you know what? I'll take all your sickness. You guys can't take it. You guys are too old.

00:07:27 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 1:

Does your grandpa old person spit too?

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 4:

Well, no, not the spit.

00:07:31 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 1:

He doesn't do the whole, like where he builds it all the way up?

00:07:35 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, he was doing it for the night. He was like, it was really loud. It was like, it was like.

00:07:41 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 2:

So I've been doing that because you have to get it out, right? You're not supposed to swallow it. And so Wes was over last night. I haven't seen him since Jingle Ball. And so he came over last night, and I did that mid-conversation and spit it in the trash can. And he looked at me like I was a troll. He was like, what did you just do? And I'm like, well, you have to get it out. And he's like, but right in front of me, you just spit it. He goes, what about the sink? It doesn't even matter. Just get it out.

00:08:09 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 1:

You know, this is like the worst timing to get sick for us because of the holidays are so important with our Breaking Under and Christmas Wish and then our Jingle Balls and all that stuff. But it reminds me of, I got so sick before our wedding.

00:08:21 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

Did you?

00:08:22 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

I don't know if I ever shared this story with you that the night, like for our wedding, my dad and myself both got so sick. We both had the worst diarrhea for our wedding.

00:08:35 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 2:

Wait, that's really bad.

00:08:36 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 1:

When Chelsea and I got married. It was like the worst. Our stomachs were bad. Everything was bad. It was like awful.

00:08:41 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 2:

Were you so worried when you're standing up at that altar? that you were going to have to remove yourself from the situation?

00:08:46 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 1:

The whole time, all I kept thinking to myself was... Or fart. I wouldn't even... Or worse. I wouldn't trust it. Wouldn't trust it. You know why? Because I rented the tuxedo. I didn't want to have to pay for it. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. What's the worst timing on getting sick? And is it not the worst place to be than on an airplane when you're coughing nonstop? Are there any other places that are worse than that? What's up, Kelsey?

00:09:15 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 3:

Hey, how's it going?

00:09:16 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 1:

What's going on?

00:09:18 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

I just heard you guys talking about this, and just something that my brother told me at the start of the pandemic was, before COVID, you would cough to cover a fart, and then since COVID, you fart to cover a fart. That is so true. Yeah. That's not true.

00:09:35 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 1:

That is great. What a great line. I've never thought about that. I've got to use that now with this whole thing. Have you had sickness run through you?

00:09:43 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 3:

um yeah we had rsv pretty bad a couple weeks ago my wife actually no joke yeah no it was bad and she has asthma too so she actually ended up in the hospital for it it was it was pretty scary

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

yeah i thank god this wasn't rsv or wasn't even the

00:10:00 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 7:

flu or covid it's some kind of a virus that the doctors are saying that it's a big thing that's been going around lately and a lot of you know them say that they have no you know real test for it because of they didn't see this coming because you know last year we really didn't see have a big flu uh you know ratio because everybody was just calling it covid what's up ashley you guys you

00:10:23 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 5:

have to do the potato in your sock trick oh my god i don't know have you no i'm serious wait

00:10:28 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 7:

That sounds perverted. What do I got to do?

00:10:31 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 5:

We talked about this. Okay. My kids, though, I have an eight-year-old and a four-year-old and a two-year-old. So, like, they're very germy little kids. They, you know, this time of year is really, really rough. Yeah. I swear to you, every time they get a sniffle or anything, I've been doing this. And we've been, like, clear this whole season. Knock on wood. But, like, it has worked. I'm serious. Do it.

00:10:52 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 6:

So what do you do? You cut them, right? You cut them into slices and put them in?

00:10:56 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, if you cut them into, like, slices and you just put them at the base of your foot with socks on when you go to bed. It feels weird at first, but, like, you get used to it, whatever. You go to sleep on it. You wake up in the morning and they're, like, disgusting and black and, like, shriveled because they are pulling stuff out of your body. I swear to you it works.

00:11:13 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 7:

All right. I kind of want to do that. Do I do it now, though, or am I, since I'm kind of over this thing and all I got is a cough right now?

00:11:20 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 5:

I mean, if you're almost over it, it'll probably help, like, end it quicker. But the sooner that you do it, when you start, like, even start getting a sniffle, I'm telling you it works.

00:11:30 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 7:

All right.

00:11:30 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 5:

Do it next time and let me know.

00:11:31 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 7:

We'll try it out. Thank you for the call. I appreciate it.

00:11:34 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 5:

Yep. Feel better, guys. Appreciate you.

00:11:36 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

Thank you. Worst timing for you getting sick, Jess?

00:11:40 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 6:

I was having a baby.

00:11:42 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

Oh, geez.

00:11:43 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 6:

My daughter's six months old, and I have an eight-year-old and a four-year-old, and my eight-year-old got sick. And I felt it coming I'm like no I'm going in to get induced And literally congestion and coughing After pushing her out for two days It was so painful And you already feel so Like you're just so tired It was awful And you know what happens after you have a baby Like everything so when you're coughing You know Shannon what's happening Oh my god Yes I was scared to sneeze Plus you can't kiss on your baby

00:12:16 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 7:

Right because you're sick

00:12:18 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 6:

Well, that was what I was afraid of, too. I'm like, oh, my God, I can't even go near her. I'm sick. My son had to have a mask on when we came home.

00:12:26 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 7:

Luke was in the Nick Ward when he was born, and I got really, really sick from that. And that was a scary situation was that moment. Hey, thank you for the call. Appreciate it. No problem.

00:12:37 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 4:

Have a good day, guys.

00:12:38 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 7:

Take care. What's up, Amanda?

00:12:39 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 4:

so I was going on vacation um for a whole week to Costa Rica and on the way to the airport I we had to pull over I was throwing up and I felt just awful for the entire week that we were in Costa Rica but I just kept like having Pepto and doing everything I could just enjoy my vacation well after we got back I was still sick still throwing up went to the doctor found out I had E. coli. Oh, my God. Oh, God.

00:13:09 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 7:

I was going to say, I can't be I don't want to be in another state where I've got bad bowel stuff, let alone another country like Costa Rica. I don't want to be at a friend's

00:13:19 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 2:

house when I've got that going on.

00:13:21 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm fine with that. I was climbing down a volcano with E. coli. I was dealing with E. coli jet

00:13:27 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 7:

feet. Oh, my God.

00:13:29 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 3:

It was fun. Oh, God.

00:13:31 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 7:

Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Stephen, you got sick and you had to get a job interview. What kind of

00:13:37 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, man, it would be bad. At the start of COVID, everybody was getting sick and all that stuff, and I had just got a job interview, and I got the coughing in there, and I was like, oh, my God, I need to just suppress it as much as I can. I'm trying to talk to the person in front of me without trying to cough in front of their face and still have a conversation with them. One time me and my girlfriend got sick for Thanksgiving. We missed all Thanksgiving together.

00:14:02 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 7:

Oh, that sucks. That sucks. That's a good holiday to have. I was thinking of Shannon because she laughs every time that I play this drop. But this was me this weekend. I was trying to get like a cough out and get everything cleared away so it would be done. And I was like trying to do the whole time. And hold on. Where did it go? Oh, here you go. Ready? That one. And then ready? Hold on. No, this one.

00:14:29 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

That's what I sounded like. Everything I could to stifle it.
