All right, it is Mojo in the morning. So I was talking earlier this morning about how we moved Luke back up to school, and I got to tell this story, and I think this story requires me to make a couple of phone calls, so I'm going to do that here. But Luke had kind of an interesting thing happen. So Luke was going to be moving on Saturday and Sunday up to, he's renting with a group of like nine guys from his fraternity a house. So they have this house that's on campus that they are all going to be living in this year. And Luke was one of the first to go in because he was the guy, I think, that got the codes and the key and all that stuff first. And they were able to officially go and move into it on Saturday. Well, when Luke moved in, he noticed that there was somebody already living in it. And this was an interesting story. And I know Chelsea's going to think that I'm over-exaggerating, but I think it's funny. there was a female squatter still inside of the uh the place i guess that there was girls that lived in this place prior to luke's guys living in there okay and one of the girls had worked out some kind of a deal with the landlord that she didn't have to move out until monday which is today at noon or something like that so she was still living there could you imagine how freaked out she was when all of a sudden some guy walks in now he was carrying a mattress with him so he had like a mattress with him and he was trying to move stuff in while she was still there still living there and she was completely by herself all the rest of the girls I guess had already moved out of the place but it got me telling that story to a couple of friends and I couldn't believe how many people have told me this there are there have been a couple of people that I know that said that they moved into apartments and had people already living in the apartment or they rented a house and there was already people living in there. And then I couldn't believe how many people have told me that they had to deal with squatters. If you ever had to deal with a squatter, somebody that was living in the place that you were about to move into or something that was your house, I want to hear your squatting story because I hear they're crazy.

00:04:30 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

This is a fascinating concept to me. Like the fact that people, I guess because it's legally they can stay, right? or legally they can occupy your residence. Yes. That baffles me. Like, you can call 911 and say, this person is living in my spot. Obviously, they don't live here. They don't have any legal right to it, but you can't put them out.

00:04:49 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, you can't. That's crazy to me. You can't kick them out, and that's happening, I guess, more and more these days. All right, so this is some of the funniest parts of this. Luke, when he was moving in, he said the reason that he knew that there was a girl...

00:05:00 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 2:

still there was he said that all her products were in the bathroom that luke was supposed to be sharing he said that it was pretty funny that uh that he looked he was like oh my god there's like they the girls didn't clean everything out and then all of a sudden the girl walked out of the room uh chelsea uh told him and all the other boys to not stay there last night because they didn't want you know leave the girl we're not calling luke you know who we're calling the girl No. We're calling Ass Juice. Oh, our correspondent. This is Luke's friend, Henry, who is living with Luke. I don't want Ass Juice to have him.

00:05:39 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

Your call has been forwarded to voicemail. The person you're trying to reach is not available. At the tone, please record your message. Should I leave a text? When you have finished recording, you may hang up.

00:05:48 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Hey, Ass Juice, it's me. It's Luke's dad. And I just wanted to talk to you this morning. So can you call me back on this number? Thank you. Hold on a minute. It's me. Should I call him Ass Juice or Juice? Did you meet the girl, Mr. Juice? I did not meet her. She stayed in her room the entire time that Luke was moving. She was scared. I almost said, this is Luke's daddy.

00:06:18 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 3:

Wow.

00:06:18 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 2:

uh here he goes uh i go ass juice it's luke's daddy call me it's kind of weird it was i didn't i didn't see her at all she stayed in the room the entire time y'all was trespassing we chelsea uh and myself were there next to the room with luke and we were setting up things like we set up luke has a bed and then he has this little like um it's like a tv stand type thing like an entertainment center i'm telling you the way that we had put this together and chelsea did the majority of the putting together none of this stuff is going to be survivable by the end of the year knowing the way that these guys do it yeah they're like they they like ufc fighting stuff in these rooms i told chelsea go you know that bed is going to like be on the floor probably at the end of this entire experience so this girl's supposed to be out by noon you got to

00:07:12 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 3:

check with luke to make sure she leave out when she's supposed to i wonder if she will because That's her house.

00:07:18 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 2:

It is. She's the last to go. I have not looked at. I'm going to look at Luke's location services.

00:07:24 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 3:

Like, I wonder, did she have, like, did it seem like she was preparing to leave?

00:07:29 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 2:

I think that she had her. Well, her door was closed the whole time, but I don't know if she had anything moved out. Luke, no, Luke's at one of his buddy's houses. He's at a buddy's house right now. So he did not stay there last night. Thank you, Luke, for abiding by mom and dad's rules. Want to make sure that you're not hanging out there. Because, you know, don't you think it would have been bad if he stayed there and the girl was there? Because then you're not making the girl feel comfortable.

00:07:57 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

But I'm saying, is he paying for rent right now?

00:07:59 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 2:

He is.

00:07:59 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 3:

Well, no, yeah, I'm paying to live here. You would stay there? Where else am I supposed to go?

00:08:04 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 2:

I just don't know.

00:08:05 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

This is my house.

00:08:06 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know, but I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable.

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 3:

How's she going to feel uncomfortable?

00:08:09 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 2:

I don't know.

00:08:10 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 3:

She got her mace?

00:08:11 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 2:

Her Neutrogena? Her Neutrogena. What's going on, Chris? How you doing?

00:08:17 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Mojo. Pretty good. How are you?

00:08:19 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 2:

Good. Chris, you had a squatter?

00:08:22 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I had a squatter in a rental house I had. It was about an hour away from where I lived. And I had power on, but I had the water shut off. And they literally went out, lifted the manhole cover, and turned the water on. Wow. And it bursted the pipes in the house, so it was just constantly running until I went back to the house and found the problem.

00:08:45 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. They actually knew how to turn the water on, even with the water not even being their place. These squatters know how to do everything, don't they?

00:08:55 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 4:

Smart.

00:08:56 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 2:

I guess. Yeah, somebody was telling me a story about they had a squatter in a rental house that they were at, and the way that they found out was they got an electric bill, and their electric bill was, like, crazy high, even though the electric, same situation, they turned everything off. These people went and got the box, and they know how to do their stuff, don't they? Figure out a way to live for free.

00:09:18 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 3:

Industrial. And you got to pay all that money. Yeah.

00:09:21 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I had to pay to get it fixed and pay the water bill.

00:09:25 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

You know what we need to do? Zach, we need to get a squatting house for you. Can you imagine finding an empty house for Zach in, like, Birmingham or Bloomfield Hills?

00:09:35 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

Oh, if it's there, I'll live there.

00:09:36 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Brittany? How you doing?

00:09:39 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

Hi, good morning. How are you guys?

00:09:41 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

We're doing good. What's happening?

00:09:43 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 4:

First of all, first time, long time. Hey, there you go.

00:09:47 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 2:

It's Brittany. Oh, Brittany. Brittany on the phone.

00:09:49 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 4:

Where the hell I get birth from?

00:09:50 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Brittany on the phone. What's going on, Brittany? I'll bet.

00:09:54 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was just calling in about the squatters in the house. My husband and I were recently. married and we were looking for you know our forever home and we found a place that we really liked and we drove by you know just to get a look around the neighborhood and stuff and realized there's people living inside and we called the original owners to be like hey is this you guys and they were like no we're going to come out and see what's going on and the current owner ended up pulling a gun on the people and the police were called

00:10:27 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 1:

man that's that's crazy like i i mean i guess you know what if i had somebody living in my house i'd probably do the exact same thing i'd be pulling a gun on them you know to get out of my

00:10:39 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 4:

house yeah it was crazy and our deal ended up falling through thankfully i felt very unsafe

00:10:45 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 1:

yeah with continuing the process you know it's funny i in my old neighborhood we had somebody that squatted in a house and the poor the people that owned the house were trying to sell the house they had moved out already and put the sign out in front and they moved out to the west coast so you know how they got them out of the house when these people left to go to work in the morning they had a guy come break into the house and change the locks on the squatters and it was the only way they could get the squatters out of the house they had to actually break into their own home otherwise the cops can't get rid of you if you're a squatter in the house I don't understand why they can't it's some kind of technicality there's like squatter rights what's up Tammy how you doing

00:11:25 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 3:

all right hey good morning morning what's happening so not so much a squatter situation but my daughter-in-law when she was at michigan state going into her senior year with her one roommate yeah the girls thought they rented a two-bedroom apartment to find out when they moved in there was a third bedroom and a third roommate somebody they didn't even know and she

00:11:44 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 1:

wasn't even a student in michigan state oh my god so there was somebody living in the house with them and the landlord didn't tell them anything correct so the two girls thought it was going to

00:11:55 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 3:

be their senior year alone and then they have this girl and she was an oddball and she lived in her room and she just didn't cohabitate with them it was awful did the girl have rights to

00:12:04 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 1:

like the same thing like the kitchen and the bathrooms and all that stuff really so it wasn't

00:12:09 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 3:

like would go home like on christmas break to come back to a mess because she was a pig

00:12:13 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 1:

okay so it wasn't a situation where she had her own entrance and exit to the place

00:12:18 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 3:

Correct. Nope.

00:12:19 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

00:12:20 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 3:

We got to change these laws.

00:12:21 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 1:

That is.

00:12:21 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. That's nice.

00:12:23 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 1:

Well, that landlord, I think, you know what I've learned, by the way, Tammy, with Luke going to school there and him living in a couple different places, he did dorm his first year. Second year, he did this fraternity house. Did it cut? Now he's doing this. I'm thinking to myself that my son would be smart to have like an apartment by himself, you know, where he doesn't live with anybody. He likes this. Like to him, this is actually fun. I don't know if I would do it. I didn't go to college, so to me, if I was living on campus, I don't want to live with anybody, especially a guy whose name is Ass Juice. You know what I mean? Right. And I love these guys. I love Ass Juice. He's great. Henry's awesome, and his parents are even better. But to me, it's like I just don't want somebody in the middle of the night doing the shenanigans that we did when we had sleepovers. You know what I'm talking about? Did Luke see the girl at all? He did see her, yes. Was she attractive? I don't, I don't know. I'm not going to go there. And you know I'm not going there. I don't know. I don't know. I don't see beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't see beauty. Kevin, what's up? Heather, hi, Heather. What's up? Oh, my God. Listen to this one.

00:13:33 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Heather. I was just calling you about the squatters thing. Yeah. So I had been to a tea party recently, and I found out one of the girl's parents owned like five properties and they had a squatter and i was like so what's the big deal like this squatter was homeless you have five houses i think it's okay so so you're you're you're thinking

00:13:56 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 1:

squatter so you actually are are a squatter supporter you believe that these people that are squatting but do you think that maybe they should pay a little bit of rent like maybe they

00:14:07 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 5:

I mean, if you take them to court and they get in trouble, then fine. But I don't know.

00:14:13 - 00:14:20 | Speaker 1:

Heather, where do you live and what's your address? I would like to come over a little later today while you're at work.

00:14:20 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 5:

I live in Toledo where pretty much everybody is homeless, so it's fine.

00:14:25 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 1:

Well, why don't I do this? You give me your address in Toledo, and this afternoon I'm going to come by and I'm just going to stop over and make myself at home and hang out for maybe a year or two. me when i walk into my own house no i would not i'd never do that i would just take up rights so
