I got to tell you guys a funny story. um so we all know brian here on this radio show brian reef from planet fitness we love planet fitness and we love brian so uh recently brian stayed with chelsea and i um i invited brian to come and hang out with us and and i said hey you know what why don't you stay over we'll have well you know kind of get together and stuff and have some fun um and it was interesting because i had never known that Chelsea has not never or has only met Brian in passing didn't know Brian very well and it lends to this next topic there's a stranger in my house because I also didn't tell Chelsea ahead of time that Brian was going to come and he was going to come over and then stay over with us and I asked this question of our listeners here right now can you invite somebody to stay at your house that your spouse and or roommates don't even know who they are. Because it started bringing some memories to me of when I was a kid. And I remember saying, you know, hey, mom, you know, could I have so-and-so come over to the house or can so-and-so sleep over? My mom would never let somebody come over to the house or sleep over unless she knew them or knew their family. Like it was never one of those things where a complete stranger kid from down the street is next thing you know sleeping at our house right yeah well so that was what it felt like when brian came and stayed at our place it was kind of wild for chelsea i actually said to her at one point i did not realize that i thought chelsea because brian's been a friend and been a client of the radio station now for 10 plus years and a really good friend for that many i thought that chelsea had a lot of interaction with him but chelsea doesn't come to a lot of our stuff no you know so so but it was interesting because we're just sitting there on the couch and I'm looking at Chelsea going, she really doesn't even know this guy. And then after the couple of days that he was with us, she was loving it. She just thought it was great.

00:04:18 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 7:

My question, like if this happened in our house to Wes would be, what if I absolutely like hate this person that I've been here for a day? What do I do? Can I leave? What's the plan?

00:04:28 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 3:

Like if Wes all of a sudden said, hey, Shannon, my bestest buddy from like middle school is coming to stay with us for a week. Would you feel like I really don't even know who this guy is, right?

00:04:40 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

It would make me uneasy. I would trust that the person was cool because, you know, they're associated with Wes or Wes's friend. But I mean, I met his very, very, very best friend from from growing up for the first time this past Christmas when we went to Canada. And so I understand that that could be a possibility.

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 5:

And what if I hated this guy?

00:05:02 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 3:

Chelsea actually loved him. Chelsea, one of the things that Chelsea thought that was so good. First off, he's clean as hell. The guy is like unbelievable. You know what I mean? Like you've met Ryan.

00:05:09 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 6:

Like cleans up after himself. You wouldn't know he's there.

00:05:12 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 3:

He's amazing. First off, he was amazing. He's like the best house guest in the world. And was, you know, was always like bringing something to it. Like we went out for lunch. Like he paid for lunch because he was staying with us. And then we went to afterwards. We're like, hey, what kind of drinks should we get? He went to the liquor store with us and we're at the, you know, the store buying stuff. And he's like, no, no, no, I'm buying this. And he turned Chelsea, Chelsea loved him because he's a tequila drinker too. So he likes tequila. But this is another question that I have to ask. Remember when you were a kid and you were going to have somebody come over to your house, like after school or whatever, you always had to ask your mom or dad permission. Hey, can so-and-so come over after school? as a grown-ass adult who lives in a in a home if you have your significant other or whoever that lives with you should you have to say to them hey are you cool with me inviting so and so over because chelsea was telling me i never tell her that people are coming over like randomly

00:06:14 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

she'll just be sitting on the couch and people just randomly come that would drive me crazy Because I'm the type, and I don't know if Chelsea's this way. One, I just want to know. But two, I also want to make sure that at least all the crap is put somewhere and we don't look like slobs when somebody pops by.

00:06:33 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'll say to Chelsea, hey, I might have a friend or two coming over. And she's like, what? But it's like, okay, they'll be here in about 10 minutes.

00:06:40 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 6:

No, I have to be mentally prepared. There has to be the right snacks. I have to light the candle far enough in advance for the place to actually smell good when they show up. There is prep work.

00:06:49 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 4:

I think it's disrespectful, to be honest with you. When Shirelle and I used to live together, this was like one of the points in our relationship I had to talk to her several times. Like, you would walk into the house, and these were people I knew, but it's just like...

00:07:04 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 5:

You still have to be prepared.

00:07:04 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, like, at least throw me a heads up, bruh. And sometimes I get under, like, I never wanted to be like, this is my house too. Like, obviously this is your house, you don't have to run everything by me, but if somebody's gonna be in there, throw me a heads up.

00:07:17 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 6:

Could you imagine just walking over to your friend's house some walking in with people like you wouldn't do that because that's their space this is your

00:07:24 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 3:

shared space as a couple when we grew up we had so many people in our house because i was the one of six kids that's true we had so many people at our house randos would come to dinner all the time my dad one time literally looked at we had a one of the we had a huge kitchen table like my dad actually made the kitchen table for us and it was like this big giant one with like big old stools and stuff on there and there would be like some guy sitting at the end of the table and my dad would go hey stranger pass the potatoes who are you what's up paul how you doing

00:07:53 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 2:

i'm doing good y'all this is my uh first time in a long time

00:07:58 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

that was actually kind of cool how you introduced yourself what's going on

00:08:05 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 2:

um so in terms of what you were talking about you know inviting somebody over um for me and and our dynamic with me and my fiance, I can absolutely invite people over that she doesn't know, and she'll be cool with it. Of course, I respect her enough and care about her enough. I'll definitely give her a heads up that, hey, so-and-so is coming over, but it does not work both ways. It absolutely doesn't. I think as the man of the house, the last thing that I want to do is meet another man. I mean, it's okay if it's a girl, but the last thing i want to do is meet another man in my home like that is not the that is not okay first

00:08:48 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 3:

pressure happens which i say with me like i would i don't think i would ever invite another woman to come stay with us you know or it would feel weird if chelsea invited another dude to come

00:08:56 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

stay with us that i didn't know you know yeah yeah and i wouldn't do another girl now that i don't see why i would ever invite a girl over that my girl doesn't know that might be bad

00:09:06 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 3:

i don't even know if there are any other girls that my girl doesn't know you know what i mean Like, I feel like that's the one you got introduced right away. Hi. What's up, Jen?

00:09:16 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 1:

You would be in the doghouse so hard for telling me 10 minutes before somebody comes over. I hate when people show up unannounced or I short notice.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, Chels hates that when I do it.

00:09:28 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 1:

So mad.

00:09:29 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 3:

I'm really bad. You know what my thing is? I don't tell her right away because I'm afraid that she'll say no. You know what I mean? Like, it's almost ask for forgiveness, not permission. Hey, Kyla, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:09:43 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

Hi. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. So my exit is that, like, I would come downstairs and I'll be in a T-shirt and he would have a group of friends just sitting on the couch. Crazy. Yeah. And I'm like, you could have worn me. I could have put some clothes on. Right.

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 6:

What did the friends do when you were walking down with just a T-shirt on?

00:10:05 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 8:

Half of them were already trying to talk to me behind his back, so it was already awkward.

00:10:09 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 6:

Whoa, wait a second. Now this is where the spin comes in here. These guys were flirting with you, huh?

00:10:15 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, a couple of them DM'd me. I showed them.

00:10:18 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God.

00:10:18 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 8:

He was like, oh, they're just playing. They're just playing. What?

00:10:22 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 6:

Wow.

00:10:22 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 8:

Yeah.

00:10:23 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 6:

You know what you should have done? You should have unexpectedly invited them over when he wasn't there and have him catch you with them.

00:10:30 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 8:

um that's actually a good idea i should have with just a t-shirt on and see what they do

00:10:36 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 7:

what's up amy hi mojo hi what's up i am on your side with the whole unannounced friends coming

00:10:45 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 6:

over thank you amy i was waiting i was going through all these calls to try to just find

00:10:49 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 7:

your call what's going on no no one's gonna reflect on if you have friends coming over no one's gonna remember what your house looks like you're focusing on the wrong thing it's about the time you're spending with your friends and they're not going to be like oh my god you

00:11:03 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 2:

have toys or papers on the counter you know you are so right i need to remember that more you are

00:11:09 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 6:

you're right and honestly seriously our house is always looking great chelsea always make you know everything looks wonderful like she she's a neat freak when it comes to that stuff and i think that's the beauty of our family and our house is that we love having people over like but um will

00:11:25 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 7:

you call chelsea and tell her all that absolutely no i understand the aspect of you know kids when you have younger kids and i'm coming at this a little bit differently now my kids are a little more grown there's no toys sprung around the house and everything but looking back i wish i hadn't focused on that so much and you know embrace like having those friends come over because guess what things happen and tomorrow's not life is short oh don't say that no it's true

00:11:54 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 6:

And also, honestly, your kids are only small for some time. Like, you know, enjoy those moments. DJ, what's up? This is the craziest one. DJ.

00:12:05 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 3:

Dude, I was so happy to tell you. So my homeboy, Josh, he invited me over to his house one summer to come and help him work on his car and his garage. And he forgot to tell his wife that I was coming because she's a huge need freak. But apparently only when company is coming over. And I get there. I knock on the door. Instead of just texting him and telling him that I was there, I made the mistake of knocking on the door. She opens the door, completely unaware that I was coming. She screamed, slammed the door shut, and told me I had to wait until she was done straightening up the house. Oh, my gosh.

00:12:36 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 7:

That is great.

00:12:37 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 3:

And you can hear her just rummaging through stuff, barreling through the house, and while simultaneously yelling at him for not telling her.

00:12:45 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 6:

Oh, that's priceless. What a great moment. And then, Shiloh, this is funny. Shiloh.

00:12:55 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, so, like, my thing is, listen, I'm walking around the house. I got my coochie out, okay? Oh, yes, I love you. You can't invite people over. You can't just have people just come over.

00:13:06 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 6:

Right.

00:13:07 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 8:

Where's your coochie hanging out? It's her house. And it's her coochie. It's my partner and his best friend, dude. What the hell?

00:13:16 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 6:

Man, I got to tell you something. If Chelsea had her coochie just hanging out, I wouldn't invite anybody over. I'd be enjoying it myself.

00:13:24 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 8:

It's like a scenario where, like, you know, I'm at home for the day. I'm chilling. He's getting off from work, coming off from school. And, you know, he's like, all right, you know, Cat's coming over with me. And I don't know this. And I'm coming out, you know, going to go get me a smoothie. And, you know, it's another dude that's not mine in my living room. Get out of my house.

00:13:46 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 6:

You're just trying to enjoy free coochie and a smoothie.

00:13:49 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 4:

I love it. The first season of the X Games League is ending in New Orleans, and only one team walks away champion. Plus, live performances from Metro Boomin', JID, Subtronics, and Bunt. Three days of sport and music. Get your tickets now at xgames.com.
