All right, it's Mojo in the Morning. Kevin, the things men shouldn't do.

00:01:38 - 00:02:06 | Speaker 7:

Let me say I don't fully agree with this list, but I was having a conversation with a lady yesterday, and she was like, it's just some things that I just don't want my man to do. It's just some things I feel like guys shouldn't do. And I'm asking her the question, like, what's going on? She was like, I don't want to see my man pucker his lips to cool off his soup or his tea or something hot. I'd rather he just burn his tongue. She said she don't like how that looks. Like, that's not manly. She was like, and I was like, I tried to pucker my lips.

00:02:08 - 00:02:12 | Speaker 8:

She was like, see, you don't even look right doing that. Do you blow on your food if it's too hot to eat?

00:02:13 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 5:

Or you do like the, like after it's already in your mouth. Oh, no, no, no, no. Oh, yes. It's already burned you. It's already in there. I'll let it fall out of my mouth before I go. Really? I'd rather have it all over the front of me than pants.

00:02:26 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 6:

I don't do the blow thing, like the consistent blow. I do the like I'm breathing heavy after just walking around and running.

00:02:33 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 7:

I'm a slow blower. I'll go. Yeah. I don't know what that does, but that's just what I'll do. But you did pucker your lips a little bit. I mean, maybe it depends on the cup or the bowl that I'm using. Like if it's a larger bowl, then maybe I'm going like soup. for a tee where they have, like, the little rip-out part that, like, turns into a small square. At that point, I'm going.

00:02:55 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 2:

Or you just take the lid off.

00:02:57 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 6:

That's not manly. That's not manly, she says. Yes. So what are some other things that we can add to this list? She had another one. Really?

00:03:03 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 7:

And this one was just, like, asinine. She said she doesn't want to see a guy holding an umbrella. Oh. What? Listen, she said she'd rather you flip the collars of your jacket, if you have one, and walk faster. No. She was like, lift your shoulders. I do not agree.

00:03:18 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 6:

You can't hold an umbrella and look cool unless you're a British guy walking around with, like, a trench coat thing on or something. I'm like, I own umbrellas. What about, does she give you more? Because I have one. Just don't, so for real. I was told before that guys don't look manly when they have their hands on the steering wheel at 10 and 2. That a guy has to drive with one hand like this. 12. Yeah, he's just got to go right up top and just kind of sway back and forth. He can't 10 and 2. A guy goes 10 and 2. You know what a guy looks like? He looks like he's not a confident driver.

00:03:49 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 5:

You've never seen somebody snap their arms in a car accident. Every time I see 10 and 2, I go, you're going to keep your arms. You're going to keep them, guys.

00:03:56 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 6:

I never knew that that would actually save your arms. That's interesting.

00:03:59 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 8:

Now they do 3 and 9. 3 and 9? I think they changed it. I think it's even lower. Really? I can't do it. Yeah, they changed it.

00:04:06 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 6:

I feel like if you do 3 and 9.

00:04:07 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 8:

Who just did driver's ed? Tell me.

00:04:09 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 6:

I like the guys who drive with their hand at the bottom of the wheel and at the top of the wheel. Either or, yeah. And if you've ever driven a Tesla, the Teslas have, what do they call their steering wheel? They have a different kind of steering wheel.

00:04:23 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, it's nine and three now.

00:04:24 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 6:

Their steering wheels are just, they're not a full round circle, some of those Teslas.

00:04:28 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 7:

A steering yoke.

00:04:29 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

A yoke. It looks like a rectangle.

00:04:31 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 7:

Like a go-kart thing. Yeah. But see, honestly, if I see a person, when I look over and I see people driving at 10 and 2, that scares me more than somebody that's driving comfortably. Like, I think you're a little too controlled. Like, you don't really know what you're doing out there.

00:04:43 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

Okay, I'm going to throw one out there as far as manly. You're not manly. You're not manly, and this is going to stay on the car thing. You're not manly if you're driving a hatchback. If you're a guy with a hatchback or what was your ex driving before? Was it a station wagon or something like that? I can't remember. It was such a one time ago.

00:05:00 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 2:

And I used to see, like, guys driving those, and I'm like, all right, it's like, you couldn't go get the SUV?

00:05:08 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 8:

I think it's hot. Really? It's crazy to me that you're worried about your gas mileage, and also you probably have kids in sports, and you're an active parent.

00:05:16 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 2:

What about guys that are driving the swagger wagon? You know, they're driving the minivan. What about the guys that are driving the minivan?

00:05:25 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 8:

Dude, I actually think that's hot. You do? Because it says you're an involved parent. I think it says you are an involved parent.

00:05:31 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 2:

Okay. What if he's blowing on his soup at the same time? Jessica, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:05:38 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 6:

Hi, how are you?

00:05:39 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 2:

Hi. We're talking about things that don't make guys look manly.

00:05:44 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 6:

Things that don't make guys look manly is a man purse and that damn man bun.

00:05:49 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 2:

Really?

00:05:50 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 7:

Oh, I love the man bun. Oh, yeah. What? Everybody dump that. What is wrong with you?

00:05:56 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 2:

Dump that. You can't say that. As a matter of fact, I'm just going to hang up on you.

00:05:59 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 8:

You shouldn't say that ever. Yeah.

00:06:00 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 2:

That's an awful word. That's horrible.

00:06:02 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 8:

Oh, my God.

00:06:03 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

But with that said, let's talk about the purses. I think guys, I used to think that I don't think guys can pull off the mercies or whatever. Guys, I feel like if you're a black guy, you can pull off almost anything.

00:06:17 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 7:

Agree.

00:06:17 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 2:

I appreciate that. I see black guys, unless you're a fat black guy. Or a fat guy. Fat guys can't do mercies. because if that guy does immerse, it looks like, you know, he should have his oxygen tank attached. Oh, my God.

00:06:33 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 7:

Like the fanny pack that goes like crossbody. I like that look for guys.

00:06:38 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 3:

I'm on that. What about...

00:06:40 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 7:

Okay, I've got one for you. And I can't believe that you didn't say this right off the bat because this has been a thing for you and me and our buddy Johnny there for years and years and years and years and years. We've always talked about this. Guys cannot drink from the little teeny tiny skinny straws in their drinks.

00:06:54 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 2:

That's true.

00:06:55 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

See, hold on. Hold on, hold on. A teeny, teeny, tiny. See, now I got a bone to pick. Because y'all said it's okay for a guy to drink out of a martini glass. But now you're saying he can't have a straw?

00:07:04 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 2:

You want to know why? Johnny Dare. I do say it. I don't want to say it. As Johnny Dare would say, it looks like you're sucking a little dick. You can't do it.

00:07:14 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 7:

That is his thing always. I laugh so hard when I'm out with him. And he points to every guy in the bar that's doing that. He's like, look.

00:07:22 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 2:

Johnny Dare goes, how's that little one tasting? I don't think those straws are necessary. The little straws. It's a stir. You're for stirring.

00:07:31 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 7:

For guys, girls, it doesn't matter.

00:07:33 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 2:

Amanda, what's up? Guy doesn't look manly. What?

00:07:37 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 6:

If they're wearing lifting gloves at the gym.

00:07:41 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 2:

Lifting gloves.

00:07:42 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 6:

That's funny.

00:07:43 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah.

00:07:44 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 6:

Well, it's some hands up, boy. Mine better not be softer than yours.

00:07:48 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 2:

I go to Planet Fitness. I don't see that much there, but guys that go to the powerhouses and stuff like that that wear those.

00:07:53 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 3:

ah yeah so you're telling me a man has to have calluses don't wear those yeah what if he doesn't

00:08:00 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 6:

want calluses why is that not manly very i mean you can take care of your hands but like i don't know i don't know i just soft feminine hands just don't scream manly to me

00:08:13 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 5:

yeah uh kimberly hi what's yours good morning um so not that i'm saying it's unmanly enough i I want to get you guys' thoughts on when guys cross their legs.

00:08:25 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 2:

Oh, when they cross their legs, there's two different ones. Where you cross your legs and it's up, and it's like basically parallel, or if you're crossing over. I got to be honest with you.

00:08:34 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 3:

See, that doesn't bother me.

00:08:34 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 2:

I feel like I'm sophisticated. You feel me? Yeah. You fancy.

00:08:38 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 3:

Don't let me have a drink.

00:08:39 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 2:

I feel like, hmm. And I actually do it, and I put my hand on my knee. Excuse me, I'm trying to. Let me. I'll get to you a second. You do sit like that. I do. I sit like this. And I do it.

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 7:

You sit like that a lot.

00:08:49 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 2:

Kimberly, I am the most manly man I know.

00:08:52 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 8:

It gives rich or European.

00:08:54 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:08:55 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 8:

I feel like when guys cross their legs, it gives you... It's very European.

00:08:57 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

Or rich.

00:08:58 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 2:

Yes. Or rich. I'm sorry. Yes. Go ahead. What was yours?

00:09:02 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Remember the Wii?

00:09:04 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:09:04 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 4:

Okay. I just don't think it's very manly if you use the Wii wrist strap. If you're a man. Can you imagine someone bowling with the Wii and they got the wrist strap on? Like, that's... But you know what?

00:09:15 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 2:

So, KB, if you're playing a game, you don't want the guy with the Wii using the wrist strap.

00:09:19 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 8:

So you know what's not sexy? Breaking an $800 TV. That's true.

00:09:22 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 4:

No, I don't care about that. Also, don't use the steering wheel. If you're playing Mario Kart, don't use the steering wheel attachment. You have to just use the numptoms.

00:09:31 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 7:

I feel like you dated a guy who did all these things.

00:09:34 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 4:

No? That is, yes.

00:09:38 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 2:

Hold on, Mike. What happened to you, Mike?

00:09:40 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. I drive a minivan because I have a young daughter, and she does sports and stuff. So I got all the t-ball stuff around. And I had a girl break up with me over it before. I picked her up on a date, and she went to the bar with me. Everything was fine. I dropped her off, and she's like, yeah, you drive a minivan. I can't be seen in one of those. Wow. Mike, I need to let you know something. That girl was a bitch. Screw her. We do that night, so it's all good. Bygones are bygones. It's all good.

00:10:12 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 3:

I like that. Good job there. Hold on a second. We were discussing things that make you look less manly. Hilda, what do you think makes guys look less manly?

00:10:24 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 1:

Hilda. I'm a very long-time listener and first-time caller. Hilda's on the phone. Thank you. So I feel it's not very manly to wear a bow tie. It's for little girls. Hey, chill on, bro. I only imagine it on hair. Have you seen Bill Nye the Science Guy, a.k.a. the hottest man that has ever lived? Dear Zachary.

00:10:47 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 2:

Hilda, are we talking tuxedos? Like, no bow tie even in that form?

00:10:52 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 1:

No. They really go in so far with the bow ties, making it diamonds and shiny. And those are for little girls. I don't like my man wearing a bow tie.

00:11:02 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 3:

Hilda, there's a guy, there's a TV guy on Channel 4 in Detroit that wears the bow tie all time. Hey, I'll tell you what, that guy's manly. No, he looks great. Yeah, he looks fantastic. He looks fancy. What's up, Aaron? Hi. What's up, Mojo? How are you? Good, buddy. Man, just us men sitting around here. Shannon, Megan, me. What's going on? So much testosterone. I'm going to stretch my balls.

00:11:26 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 4:

So, I think my girlfriend is trying to get me to go get a pedicure, but I don't think that's manly, so I can't be about it.

00:11:34 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 3:

No, no, dude, you go get a pedicure, you will change your life. No girl wants, like, gnarly feet. I'm telling you.

00:11:41 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I agree. I love guys that get pedicures. Just when you get the pedicure, no matter how hot the water is, don't say anything. That's true. Dude, that's true for girls. Or just blow on it, but make sure you pucker.

00:11:53 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 3:

By the way, my favorite is when she'll go, when the lady will go, and she has an accent saying this, and she'll say, is it too hot? And I'll go, no.

00:12:06 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 4:

This is great.

00:12:08 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 3:

What's up, Marvin? How you doing?

00:12:11 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 4:

Hey, I got the trifecta.

00:12:12 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:12:13 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Fanny packs, ankle socks, and biker shorts. Oh, gee. Where are you hanging out?

00:12:19 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 2:

Right, yeah. this sounds like a man getting ready for an outdoor workout i'm not manly to work out

00:12:27 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 3:

sit on your couch like a real man that's the best oh my god hold on a second marvin lydia just went in my ear and said that uh you were we met you at the auto show yesterday marvin oh oh thank you for the jolly ranchers thanks what a nice guy great car yeah really really nice to meet you. Really nice to meet everybody at the auto show. Go listen to our auto show podcast. It's up on the More Mojo podcast platform right now. I'll tell you what, man. I will do so. Cab was dissing on the Hummers. He was like, that is a fat... It looked like a little turtle. He didn't like that. I was like, man, there were some tough vehicles that were there yesterday. That was some cool stuff. What was your favorite that you saw, Marvin?

00:13:10 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 4:

I haven't went to the auto show yet. I thought we'd go Saturday.

00:13:13 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 3:

Okay. But you were there by the... We were there with you. You didn't go inside That's right.

00:13:18 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 4:

No, I didn't. Okay. I just kept driving.

00:13:22 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 3:

We'll see you, buddy. Your car, by the way, very manly. By the way, do you put armor wall on your seats? Because I feel like I slid all the way down on those things.

00:13:31 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 4:

No, I actually didn't. That's how the seats are.

00:13:34 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 3:

Quality. That was quality leather. David, what's up, David? What's going on, guys? What's going on?

00:13:42 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. I can't believe we got through. So, you know, it's funny. Who is that?

00:13:47 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 3:

Wait, who is that with you?

00:13:49 - 00:13:51 | Speaker 2:

This is my wife.

00:13:51 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 3:

We're sitting there driving. I'm like, we've got to call in because this is too fun.

00:13:55 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 1:

And I was like, no way we're going to get through. There's no way. We're first on the shootout.

00:14:00 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 3:

Wait, David and who? What's your name?

00:14:04 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 1:

Kelly. All right, David and Kelly. David and Kelly and Kelly.

00:14:12 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 3:

They're swingers. All right. David and Kelly, what is something that makes a guy look less manly?

00:14:21 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 1:

They're called Chubbies. They're like the short, short...

00:14:25 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 3:

Mike wore those.

00:14:26 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. Mike loves Chubbies.

00:14:27 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 2:

Mike loves Chubbies. He's talking about the... What are they calling the daddies?

00:14:30 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 3:

The brand, Chubbies, I think. Oh, yeah. What are those called?

00:14:32 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 2:

Hoochie daddies. Yeah. Let me tell you, if you're a thick boy in Chubbies...

00:14:37 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 3:

Really?

00:14:39 - 00:14:48 | Speaker 1:

Hot damn. Give me them tree trunks. Let them see this. I'm like, ow, ow. But you can't be thin. You cannot be thin. You got to be a thick boy, you know?

00:14:49 - 00:14:53 | Speaker 2:

David, are you a thick boy? Kelly, is he a thick boy?

00:14:54 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 1:

No, no, no, no, no. Oh, I'm a thick boy.

00:15:00 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 7:

We love you guys. Have a great day, guys. Keep swinging.

00:15:03 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 5:

Bye, guys. Appreciate you.

00:15:06 - 00:15:08 | Speaker 7:

Ted, what is it that makes you look less manly?

00:15:10 - 00:15:15 | Speaker 4:

I used to have an old supervisor who used to put a cigarette between the first two fingers and kind of puff on it.

00:15:15 - 00:15:20 | Speaker 7:

Oh, like Cruella de Vil. Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Yeah, yeah. I've never smoked. Can you tell me?

00:15:20 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 4:

I used to cringe every time just to watch him smoke a cigarette.

00:15:23 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 7:

Wait, he would smoke cigarettes like that.

00:15:25 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 5:

Isn't that only for a joint?

00:15:26 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:15:27 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I don't know.

00:15:28 - 00:15:36 | Speaker 7:

What's the proper way to smoke? I don't know. You got to hold it like a joint. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Like Tony Montana. Really? Yeah. You got to hold it like a joint.

00:15:37 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 4:

Or like a cigar.

00:15:38 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. Or like a cigar. Yeah. And you definitely can't put a cigar in between your two fingers. You get yourself kicked out of a cigar shop for that. Danielle is a driving instructor to wrap this all up with the proper way to hold the steering wheel. And, Danielle, what is it?

00:15:54 - 00:16:01 | Speaker 5:

So I'm a driver's ed teacher in Ohio, and it's actually eight and four now. Does that seem more manly than 10-2 or 9-3?

00:16:01 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 7:

8-4 is not bad. We've got to try 8-4. We'll try that. Yeah. And that's the proper way because of what? Do we know why?

00:16:11 - 00:16:18 | Speaker 5:

So it's to help with your arms not becoming fatigued on long road trips.

00:16:18 - 00:16:18 | Speaker 7:

Interesting.

00:16:19 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 5:

And to protect your hand from the airbag. But personally, I don't like starting a new person at 8-4 if they're just starting out. I like 9-3 better.

00:16:27 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 7:

It seems to me like if you're at 8 and 4 and you're just learning how to drive, you ain't doing a great job of getting that steering wheel straight if you start sliding around in winter weather.

00:16:35 - 00:16:45 | Speaker 5:

And if my drive is long enough that my arms are getting fatigued, let's be honest, cruise control is on and I'm driving with my knees. Right. I don't know about the knees, but cruise control does that.

00:16:46 - 00:16:50 | Speaker 7:

How about driving with one leg out the window? I see that sometimes in summertime.

00:16:51 - 00:16:57 | Speaker 5:

Don't recommend that. You want to get your leg crushed and thrown up against your torso there in an accident.

00:16:57 - 00:17:01 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, not a good one. We love you. Take care of yourself, Danielle. We appreciate you.

00:17:02 - 00:18:03 | Speaker 6:
