terms and conditions apply. Hey, if you're a guy, I want you to listen up. Spike is going to school you on some things that you should not do. It's Mojo on the Morning Show. Listen, I'm no expert,

00:02:22 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 5:

but my wise old age I've definitely learned a few things and my friend's getting married in June so I thought okay I'm gonna give a gift obviously and then I'm also writing out a little card just for the groom and I want to help my buddy out I took all my knowledge of successes and failures in my relationships and I also took all the things we've done on this show we've had many good topics we've i mean if you don't know about relationships from this show you're in trouble and i made a list of things he should never ever say to his new bride in the hopes you know for a long and happy marriage so i'm going to share these beginning ones here and then maybe if listeners want to call in and add to the list because like i said this is only my limited scope of my relationships of what i've been through good and bad and i'm sure people have some other suggestions but i'd like to suggest some things you should never say to a woman and the first one i know is easy and that is the simple phrase that could be the end of your life if you say it in the wrong place at the wrong time you never ever tell a woman just calm down oh that's bad in all the history of calm down no woman has ever calmed down by being told to calm down all you do is ratchet up yeah it like does the opposite yeah yeah same as relax don't ever say relax um and then along the same lines it's no big deal you cannot say to a woman it's no because guess what a big deal to her it's a big deal yeah that's why it's you know in the same vein you're fine you're fine i'm not fine you've had that you've had that i'm assuming yeah i'm gonna tell you another one what did you do all day oh if you work and your wife is a stay-at-home mom and doing all the handling all that stuff at home don't ever ask what did you do all day and uh this one is yet another one that i think you could she could blow a gasket if you ever say you're overreacting these all seem simple and yet i hear repeated offenses of guys in my life my buddies that make the same rookie mistakes on a regular basis yeah why why are we so dumb

00:04:43 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 6:

and i say we because i have made that mistake oh we all are what do you think's the worst thing

00:04:48 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 4:

you ever said to chelsea that just really got her going um just a simple comment i definitely have

00:04:53 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

done the calm down and i definitely have done the what did you do today thing the you know so what you do today?

00:05:00 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 3:

which was said in kind of a condescending way, but I didn't mean it in that. I really did want to just know what she did that day. But I said it just after I had just gotten, you know, like this whole high horse thing of complaining about, you know, I can't ever find anything, this whole thing. And so that was probably the worst. That was actually one of those ones where I almost thought that I was going to be spending the night at the Hampton Inn on M5. I thought that was the case.

00:05:30 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 2:

My big offense was something that wasn't even meant to be insulting or offensive or critical. I just chose poor words when I asked, are you going to wear that? And I just meant, are you going to wear that? Because if that's what you're wearing, I'm going to adjust what I'm going to wear. Like, I have to change. But the way it came out was, there's a problem with what you're wearing. So I was like, no, it's not what I meant at all. But by then, it was, forget it.

00:05:55 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 7:

As soon as those words came out of your mouth, my whole body just got, like, numb.

00:06:00 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I was like, are you going to wear that? And I just meant, is that what you're wearing so I know what to wear? But you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Once I said the words, I'm like, well, I guess tonight's canceled. I guess we're not going out.

00:06:11 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 4:

These are the six fighting words that all couples know and hate. I'm going to give you these Mr. Words, fellas, that you have to avoid because they're just traps. The six words are nothing, seriously, whatever, never mind, chill, and fine. Now, trust me, listen to me, fellas. When you hear the word nothing, you've got to automatically know something.

00:06:48 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 3:

What did you want to add to this list, Jerry? Hi. Hey, how are you doing? Good. The things that you should never say to your wife.

00:06:59 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 1:

The four most famous words is she's just a friend.

00:07:04 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 2:

Nothing sounds more guilty than she's just a friend.

00:07:08 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. And Jerry, was she just a friend?

00:07:12 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 2:

She was just a friend.

00:07:13 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay, Jerry.

00:07:16 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 2:

I don't even know you're just a friend. You can't laugh.

00:07:18 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 3:

You got that guilty laugh afterwards. Hey, is this Kaz? Yeah, Kaz. Kaz, what's up, Kaz?

00:07:28 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 1:

Hey, you come home from work and she asks you, did you notice I clean house?

00:07:33 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 3:

And what do you say?

00:07:36 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 1:

And you say, oh, yes, dear, it looks great.

00:07:38 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

There's only one answer.

00:07:40 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 3:

By the way, when they say, did you notice, you should have noticed before they said didn't notice. Yeah.

00:07:48 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, hell no.

00:07:51 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Nicole, what's going on? You wanted to add something to the list, huh?

00:07:55 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, not something that you shouldn't say to your wife, but about your wife. Don't introduce her to people as your first wife. Oh. Oh, geez.

00:08:06 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 7:

Wow.

00:08:06 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 6:

Wait, that's just like, why? We were in a friend group, and one of his friends said, oh, this is my wife. But then it was obviously his new second wife. And my husband decided to say, oh, this is my first wife, Nicole. Oh, so I took that totally differently.

00:08:25 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 7:

You know how some guys joke, like, this is my wife, my first wife, wink, wink, like insinuating she's not going to last for very long. That's what I thought. Yeah.

00:08:34 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 3:

In their case, it didn't last for very long. And that's why he said it. Does he ever By the way with relationships that are blended Like this or where there's A divorce You should never bring up the ex-wife Right or should you Like you shouldn't bring up Like anything about them Or can you without people getting crazy

00:08:57 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 6:

I guess It would depend on why they split If it was amicable or not

00:09:02 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Yeah like my wife and I used to do this Probably not a good thing to do

00:09:06 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 5:

probably not okay liz what's up hi good morning good morning what's going on nothing um so actually it's funny it's on the wife i'm a stay-at-home mom and my fiance he goes out and he works and everything and one day he came home and it was a rough day My four-year-old, he's not the easiest person, and he comes home, and he's like, did you mop the floor today? And I look at him, and I'm like, did I mop the floor today? I'm like, did I mop the floor? Did I do the dishes? Did I do the laundry? Did I do all of this? No, not at all. I just sat around.

00:09:49 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 3:

By the way, when you just said all that stuff, I had this weird thing that shot up in my spine at that moment.

00:09:56 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

It felt like I was in trouble. Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 5:

It's like immediate doghouse.

00:10:01 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 8:

You know what you should have done, Liz? You should have started throwing things on the floor. Did I mop the floor today? You know, one thing of, you know, whatever that's on the counter, then another thing on the counter. What are some of the other things on your list, Spike? Did you go through all your lists or no?

00:10:16 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 4:

We also have, oh, here's some that didn't come up. You're acting like my ex or you're acting like your mom.

00:10:27 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah.

00:10:28 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 4:

Wow.

00:10:30 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, and that's not a good idea.

00:10:33 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 4:

That's just dumb.

00:10:35 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 8:

Larry actually has the mom one. What's up, Larry? How are you? Good. What's going on? Things that you should never say to a woman.

00:10:44 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 5:

So, whenever you're in any kind of dispute talking about your kids, you never bring up your own mother and how your own mom would handle it.

00:10:52 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 8:

Why? What did you do? Explain.

00:10:55 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 5:

Well, just any time I would ever do that or will ever do ever do that, my wife it's uh it seems to be a triggering point so it seems like one of those things you only do

00:11:05 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 8:

once and then go oh nope not doing that again no i still do it because she's still a part of our

00:11:11 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 5:

life and we love her but so yes it it doesn't always go well does it happen more so like with

00:11:16 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 8:

like like cooking and things like that or when does it come up um pretty much anything having

00:11:22 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 5:

to do with the kids or, um, yeah, the kids or anything to do with, um, yeah, raising the kids, uh, anything we want to make.

00:11:33 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. But can't you even say like, I remember when I was a kid, my mom, or is that, does that not go over well?

00:11:39 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 5:

That could also be triggering.

00:11:41 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. Like that could actually come back and bite you in the ass.

00:11:45 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 5:

Possibly. Yeah. Just bringing it up can, can be triggering.

00:11:48 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. That's what if you said, I hate my mom. Is that okay?

00:11:55 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 5:

That would be better.

00:11:57 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 8:

Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Bye.

00:12:04 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 1:

Here are some good ones. What's for dinner? People hate that. And you look tired.

00:12:09 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's a great one. The number one, I mean, we all know this, the number one phrase that starts an argument is, what's for dinner?

00:12:17 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 8:

By the way, are there any things that you can say to a guy that gets them upset? or do you guys not get upset? Well, tell us. Well, I'm just wondering because I don't ever get upset. People, I'm like, you know, I let things roll off my back.

00:12:30 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 1:

You lie so bad.

00:12:30 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 8:

I'm not as emotional as you guys are. Oh, that was one of the things that was next on that list.

00:12:36 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 2:

When all you want is to be left alone but also get constant attention, is that too much to ask? This is Mojo in the Morning.

00:12:43 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 7:
