Phone scam in moments here on the Mojo in the Morning Show. Went to lunch with KP yesterday. I wanted to talk real quick about this. Where'd you guys go? So this is the thing I wanted to talk about, if you don't mind, and I don't want to offend, but I need to help these guys. I love that we have so many new restaurants here in our area. For years, it was always just we had McDonald's across the street, or McDonald's next door to us, and then we had a Panera and a Subway. Well, there's like three new restaurants that have opened in our little broadcast area where the Mojo in the Morning Show studios are in Farmington Hills like in the past few months. Unfortunately, the one that I went to yesterday with KP, I am worried is never going to make it. Okay? And it's not because their food is bad. It's because you guys tell me if you think that this will work. First of all, they have like the worst name ever. It's such a bad name. I don't even remember what the name was. Oh, really? I got no clue. I looked at the name on the board, and I'm like, oh. I said to KP, KP, you and I were just like, we were going to go to the burrito place.

00:03:24 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 7:

Mojo, you asked the lady what the name of the restaurant was. It was literally written on her shirt. But honestly, do you remember the name of the place? Uniquely something.

00:03:36 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 2:

Yes. Okay, so you remember the whole place. All right.

00:03:38 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 7:

Not that.

00:03:39 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 5:

It's so unique.

00:03:39 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 2:

Then we walked in, and I looked at the menu. They have, like, three to four different kinds of foods. They serve Japanese food. They serve Italian food. They have Greek food. I mean, they've got, like, you know, throw Mexican food in there, and you're going to Epcot Center, and it's around the world. You know what I mean? I mean, it's crazy. Can a restaurant do that? Can a restaurant have that many different varieties?

00:04:06 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 3:

And that's why you think it's going to fail?

00:04:07 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 2:

Well, no. And last but not least, I had – or we had to, but I did it. Knock on the door to get let in. Yeah.

00:04:17 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 7:

I was like, oh, my gosh, we're not going to be those people that are banging on the door. Mojo got to the door, and he's like, hello. And I'm like, oh, no, no, no. Were they just opening or what? No, they had been open.

00:04:28 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 2:

No, it was 1 o'clock. It was like 1 or 1. Yeah, 1.15.

00:04:32 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 7:

No, they've been open for two hours.

00:04:33 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, they had their lunch rush already. but okay so i i wanted to just throw this out there and i'm not trying to just oh my gosh i

00:04:40 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 5:

but first of all you still didn't have the name right but i looked i just looked them up online and the menu is truly all over the place okay but it was really pasta hibachi like they have

00:04:50 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 2:

everything in this place so is there a can a restaurant do this without being called a mall

00:04:55 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

food court it really does look like that that way when we were in there did you feel that way

00:05:00 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 4:

I did it did he kind of had a little Mall food and honestly I love the idea Why don't they call the Place mall food court You know what I mean well when you have Coworkers that can't decide

00:05:11 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 3:

Coworkers that can't Can't decide what you want they literally Have everything so everything you'll all Agree on where to go because no matter what

00:05:20 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 4:

You're in the mood for guess guess what we did So I ordered I ordered hibachi And you ordered pasta Fettuccine alfredo right It was really good. It was awesome. It was like great food.

00:05:32 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 3:

I still have it in the fridge. I'm going to eat for lunch today.

00:05:34 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 4:

But here's the problem with this. And I guess it's like a really good chef, some chef that has places like in Detroit. Yeah. And I don't even know who.

00:05:41 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 3:

They cater.

00:05:42 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

And they do catering and stuff. I just don't. I'm worried about them because I know how the goofballs in this area are. Because we've got a lot of automotive people that work in the area. They're going to walk right past the place because they're not going to know what the hell the place says.

00:05:55 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 2:

Well, this morning I drove by and all the signs for the restaurants were on except theirs. Saving energy Like the actual lights

00:06:02 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 3:

I feel like it should be on even when they're closed

00:06:05 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 2:

Well then you've got that other new place across the street Savvy Sliders And the lights from that building Are so bright I can see them from my house 10 miles away I've never seen a restaurant lit up Like a football arena like that You've got the inflatable out front too They see it on the moon

00:06:22 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

Hey is that Savvy Sliders over there? Oh my god So yeah so it's kind of wild How they have that There's a place by my house And it's called The Greek Jalapeno It's a little Coney type place And legit They serve Greek food And Mexican food Have you been to

00:06:40 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

El Bar Zone downtown?

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 4:

Yeah that's a great place

00:06:42 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 1:

One side of the menu is Italian And the other side of the menu is Mexican

00:06:46 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 4:

And it's a great restaurant

00:06:47 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 1:

It's phenomenal

00:06:47 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 4:

And it's like really gourmet Gourmet good stuff right?

00:06:51 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

My favorite restaurant I send people to in Philly Which is known for Italian food And when I was there at Christmas Went there again my favorite italian food in philadelphia is murph's irish pub it's it's a cash only dive bar in the worst part of town it's an irish pub and they the guy met an italian that like literally immigrated into this country about six years ago and the guy's like you have a kitchen you don't use it when he was drinking at the bar and the guy's like you want to rent it out now this place is famous for italian food and it's an irish couple that owns it that's funny every time

00:07:23 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 4:

every time joe comes to town like when joe lived here in town we would go to the coney island that was by my house and joey uh would order a burrito and i would say to him i'm like you're coming to a coney island and you're ordering a burrito and he's like dad i'm telling you it's the best burrito i've ever had in my life and i go you're the guy that when the cook sees that little thing spin around on the spindle goes that freaking kid is here again because who the hell is ordering the

00:07:53 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 3:

burrito well they won't do that across the street you get a quesadilla or a caesar salad or salmon

00:07:58 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 4:

doesn't matter spike it was unbelievable and by the way the uh the people that worked there were like super uh super sweet super nice and the um uh the lady who owns it with her husband had the most unbelievably beautiful eyes like it was i don't know what i said even kp right kp she had these eyes that the the oh she's talking on the phone it's gonna sound weird that i'm just talking about her eyes maybe they should call that beautiful eyes that should be the name of the uh of the place um it's funny talking about uh talking about food and stuff so yes yesterday after that we um i take chelsea and luke and we got invited over to some uh friend's house have you guys ever gone to a person's house to go eat and they didn't have enough food speaking of food have you ever had that happen do you know people that you will go to their home and you know that you're never going to get enough food yeah if you come to my house for a party or food like i literally have so much food we eat for weeks this food that we have these people came so this is no joke they invited us over to their house for dinner and I got a half a piece of chicken I didn't even get the full chicken breast they dished out the food and put it on the front of me

00:09:21 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 2:

they probably realized they didn't have enough so they were cut and stuck in half

00:09:23 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 4:

I felt so like hungry when I left the place I was like dying I was like wait a second hold on a second and then I finally was like looking over at Chelsea and Luke as they were eating their food and I'm praying that they don't finish their food they finished it all in like five seconds usually they take forever to eat because they're like slow eaters and they also talk a lot while they're eating too i'm just like and wolf it down and i'm like oh my god there was not enough food mojo do you ever do the the pocket snacks you ever bring a pocket snack you do that at people's homes well normally i do it for kids like if i have the kids with me but Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 2:

I've noticed that even without them now, like, I'll have a granola bar in my pocket and not even realize it.

00:10:03 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 6:

That has saved me, having snacks, like, in my car and in my purse. It has saved me on so many occasions.

00:10:08 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 2:

I loved when my kids were younger and we had a diaper bag with stuff like that in there. I would eat, like, the kids' baby food. But I didn't have that. I was, like, looking everywhere. Where is there anything? Even just, like, give me, like, you know, salad. I'll eat salad if you got extra salad. What's up, Larry? How you doing?

00:10:27 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 3:

Hey, what's going on, man? So your restaurant that serves everything, they should change the name to I don't care. So when you ask your wife what she wants to eat, you can take her there.

00:10:37 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. That is brilliant.

00:10:38 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 3:

You can do whatever she wants.

00:10:39 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, because I'll have it. Hey, Larry, I got to ask you a quick question. Do you know people that don't have, like, if you go to their home to eat, they never have enough food for you?

00:10:51 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 3:

I've not had that happen, but that would be extremely embarrassing.

00:10:55 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. It's the worst, isn't it? Like, I'm sure you have friends like I have friends, and I'm sure you're like this, too. If you invite people over to your house, don't you always overcook or overorder food?

00:11:07 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 3:

Absolutely, and send them with a to-go thing. Yeah, absolutely.

00:11:10 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 2:

Is it bad? Would it have been bad, Larry, if at their house I doordashed food?

00:11:17 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 3:

That would be bad. Don't knock. I'll meet you in the driveway. This is why you make friends with overweight people.

00:11:23 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 2:

They made friends with me What's going on? Mojo in the morning, hello

00:11:29 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 6:

Hi, I just wanted to call in They're talking about not having enough food Every time I go to my in-laws There's never enough food And they all seem like Satisfied and I always Eat before or bring snacks with me Because there's almost never enough food Like even Christmas, there's not enough food For everybody

00:11:49 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 1:

If you already know, you just plant Like, we have Costco apps in the freezer Like, let's have some egg rolls We're going over her house

00:11:55 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 2:

It's funny that you say this Because it makes me think that I'm not a normal person Like, I eat way too much

00:12:02 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 6:

No, I'm like a normal size whatever And there's never enough food Thanksgiving, like, I did not eat I got, like, maybe one or two tiny pieces of turkey

00:12:14 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 2:

Wait, how do you not make enough food on Thanksgiving? That's the day of eating

00:12:18 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 6:

I know, I know I don't know what it is. There's literally never enough food. Like cheesy potatoes, you get like a tiny size because the pan, she just doesn't make enough food.

00:12:30 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God.

00:12:31 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 6:

Potatoes, they'll be like, you'll get half of a potato. You won't even get enough.

00:12:36 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 2:

What are we eating at, Weight Watchers?

00:12:39 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 6:

Honestly, it's so miserable, and my husband just laughs about it. But I always bring snacks or eat beforehand. Or on the way home, I'll be like, let's stop somewhere because I've never. He's not full either I don't know what to do

00:12:52 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 2:

It's funny because what you do is on the way home You stop at KFC

00:12:56 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, literally

00:12:58 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, what's going on? How you doing, Elise?

00:13:03 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 5:

Hi

00:13:03 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 2:

You want to call out your mother-in-law?

00:13:06 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, my mother-in-law cooks basically A small rotisserie chicken for Thanksgiving And expects eight of her children to share that

00:13:15 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 6:

Oh my gosh Somebody else needs to volunteer to do the turkey

00:13:19 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 2:

If you're going to the grocery store To grab a rotisserie chicken And that's what you're serving That's not a good Thanksgiving

00:13:25 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 5:

She never has any drinks And every time they're like Where's the drink? She's like In my trunk And it's water

00:13:32 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 2:

So you have to help yourself To stuff in her trunk That she hasn't brought From the time show

00:13:39 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 5:

I make my husband Go to Drive-thru Right before we go there Oh yeah That's smart

00:13:46 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 4:

Just being an hour away from her

00:13:48 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 2:

That is so smart What's up, David?

00:13:51 - 00:13:54 | Speaker 4:

Hello, Mojo and team. First time caller. Oh, we love it.

00:13:55 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 2:

What's going on?

00:13:56 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 4:

Hey. Yeah, I listen to you guys every day on the way into work. Thanks. Yeah, I have that problem with my sister-in-law. When we go to her place, we just barely have enough to eat. And this, over Christmas, I made a point of making a dish to go because when she comes to our place, she brings her own take-home dishes and loads them up to the max. It doesn't ask, pulls them out of the bag, fills them up, and then takes them home. Oh, wow. Crazy.

00:14:27 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that is nuts. Does it make you not want to go?

00:14:34 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 4:

Yes, it does.

00:14:36 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:14:36 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 4:

It does. But we do for the family.

00:14:38 - 00:14:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. By the way, all the people that are calling out family members right now and doing this whole thing, and like I am with my friends, we're never getting invited over the whole time again, which is probably a good thing.
