It's so funny that you had this happen to you, and then the first thing you thought of was, is this is how I'm going to die?

Yeah, I think other people have been in this situation. You get hurt so bad, and you got hurt for the stupidest reason, or you're in the stupidest place, and you're like, more like a question mark. This is how I die? Like, oh my God, this is it. This is my final moment on Earth. I hit my head so hard yesterday that I got dizzy, had to immediately sit on the ground on the icy outdoor parking lot because I thought I was going to die.

Did you fall and slip?

No. So what happened was it was so nice after work, I decided to get my car washed. Well, then when I went through the car wash, I had to dry it. So I pulled into the next parking lot over and pulled over so I could dry my car off before it all froze on my car. and i went in the back lift lifted the tailgate and uh got the towel out of my trunk and went to wash well i didn't because it was so cold my lift gate didn't go all the way up and it was like right at eye level and i didn't notice so i was like bending over going around cleaning this all around the car bend over i when i got back to the other side all the way around i forgot the lift gate was halfway open stood up at full force and caught the corner of the lift gate on the top of my head and it got i hit so hard i thought somebody was mugging me i was in this parking lot and i thought oh my god somebody just hit me with a bat a bat and i fell to the ground and then i looked up and go oh you dummy that was the tailgate that you left like that and this is how i'm gonna die like my head started throbbing i was like i'm gonna pass out oh my god i'm gonna pass Who do I call? I got to call somebody, tell them where I am. I am parked in the back of this seedy hotel in the parking lot.

Oh, my gosh.

Because it was just the next one right next to the car wash. Right. Well, now I'm thinking, oh, my God, I got to call somebody. And then they're going to wonder, why was I in this hotel parking? Like, what was really happening? They're going to find me unconscious in this seedy hotel.

I'm just going to look like a drug deal gone bad or something worse. Breaking news.

Oh, my gosh. Could you imagine?

They won't say your name or the station We wouldn't even get credit

And then what they'll do is They'll go out on the scene It'll be Rod Maloney And the background will be the seedy place And it'll be like, yes, Devin He died here at the block of The 20,000 block of Hoover And you'll be like Every person that's watching it will go Oh my god, he was soliciting a prostitute

In a hotel room Yeah. Plus, I had all the doors open on my car while I was going around cleaning. A drug deal gone bad. So what would happen is I'd be passed out. Next at 11. Somebody would come up and just take the car. It's running, and then my body's just randomly in this hotel parking lot with no connection to why I'm there.

I wouldn't want it to be Rod Maloney. I would so badly want it to be our boy Charlie. Charlie Langton. Charlie Langton. Yeah. No, no, no. Charlie Langton. Charlie Langton. Then he would get all the good sound bites from all the seedy characters around said seedy hotel. Right. That would happen to you.

Hold on a second. Hold on. I'm calling Charlie Langton right now.

He would make it such a good story.

He'd be like, local radio host, we know he's not walking. Clearly, by looking at him, he's not walking home. What was he doing in the back of this low-cost hotel room? It would be so good.

He should have been cleaning his car for now. Charlie, it's Mojo.

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Okay.

Charlie, Mojo, how are you? Hey, Mojo, how you doing? Good. Hey, we were just having a discussion with Spike, and yesterday he almost died, and he was worried because he almost died.

In the back parking lot of a seedy hotel, and we thought immediately this would be a story Charlie Langton would be reporting.

Yes. Of a seedy hotel? Yeah, he was actually at the car wash next door, but there was a hotel that was there next to the car wash where all the hookers hang out.

That's the story. He's sticking to it. Right, right. So I pulled in to drive my car off and I hit my head so bad I almost passed out. And then we thought, what would be your lead in that story of the questionable circumstances of how my body ended up in the parking lot?

to take one last, kind of cleanse his soul, so to speak, near a hotel, near a car wash. Yeah, yeah.

Authorities are trying to figure out. Charlie, do you have any information? The authorities are trying to figure out what led him to the back of this seedy hotel.

Well, I don't want to talk too much about the back and space.

And obviously it could lead to innuendos That we don't want to know Charlie we love you buddy You're the best

I don't know what hurts more My head I still have a lump on the top of my head I don't know if I need to get that checked out Or my pride because I was so embarrassed

Shannon said that, you know, they won't say the name. They'll say local radio station. But that's incorrect. When it's good news, they never share the radio station name. When it's embarrassing or bad news, they always get the spelling of the name right.

So, Spike. Yes. I was walking through a Target parking lot and just minding my business, got out of my car, came around my car, started walking. Next thing I know, I am laying on the ground in the parking lot. Someone had closed their lift gate. I did not notice as I was walking by as they were, like, walking either into the store or away from the store. I don't know. And it hit me in the top of my head and knocked me clear out right in the middle of my mouth.

Holy crap. Oh, my gosh. And did somebody find you and come to your rescue?

so i woke up and didn't realize you know what had happened and um all of a sudden someone said um you know someone was across the way asking me if i was okay and i and it must only been a millisecond but uh i had no idea what happened and they told me and the person that left the

car didn't even notice yeah notice that happened and you could fall into the the way where people are driving that's the scary part but i've had that happen before in parking lots too where People hit it when they're walking to their car And they're still like 100 feet away And all of a sudden it's opening and I almost ran into it

So I was in a Kroger parking lot I'm loading my groceries And my car has a feature where you can Hit your leg at the bottom of it With your foot I must have hit it because it closed It hit me in the face Pushed me down to the ground I had the hugest black eye the next day

Man, yeah It's so embarrassing. We're hearing a lot of issues where people get kind of knocked by those tailgates. You know what it is? Honestly, the worst in the world is when you feel like, oh, my God, how did I not know? Like how you said you were, Spike? Yeah. But it just kind of comes out of nowhere.

It's always a dumb accident in the weirdest place. And I was just like, oh, is this how I'm going to die? Like can someone lie to me And just tell them I was helping Children out of a burning building Or something

Tailgate or chasing the tail You know The beauty of when Charlie was just doing that Just a couple of minutes ago Is he has no problem doing it And they let him get away with it It's so funny I would hate to actually be Another reporter anchor At his station and have the story right after Charlie does his story because it's never going to.
