It's Mojo in the morning. You know we're on in Grand Rapids in Toledo, but I want to focus on this one here because it's a Detroit story, but it's actually a very interesting story. This story is a big one about a big local personality in the Detroit area who you might have heard about maybe, what, six, eight weeks ago. There was a news story that came out that said that one of the big local TV personalities, Hank Winchester, does a segment called Help Me Hank. He's a friend of the Mojo in the Morning show, so all full disclosure on this one. I've been friends with Hank for a long time, and he's been on our show numerous times promoting his Help Me Hank segments, as well as came to our recent podcast. And then right after the podcast, a story broke on one of the other television stations in town, Fox 2, that talked about how Hank's home was having a search warrant issued on it, where they were going in there and taking some of Hank's electronic devices. and this all stemmed from an incident that took place after Hank got a massage at his house from a male masseuse and there might have been a solicitation, possibly. Well, on the phone with us right now is Hank's attorney. This guy is a legend here in town. If I get myself into trouble, he'll probably be my criminal defense attorney. Todd Flood is his name, and Todd is on with us right now. Todd, how you doing?

I'm good. I'm good. I'm just recovering from my stepdaughter's graduation party. But other than that, I'm great.

That's awesome. Tell Heather, by the way, say, hey, I love her. And you've got a great family. So, Todd, I've got to get right to this because I don't know how much time you have. And I want to ask you a million questions. You guys did a press conference over the weekend. And I hate to say this. I didn't see this in a lot of places. I did see Hank post on his social. And I saw some of his other colleagues like Rhonda Walker post on her social. And I feel like this story is not getting as much play as Hank being in, you know, served this search warrant. Hank Winchester, the local four help me Hank guy, has officially been cleared by the legal process in this whole case?

Yes, absolutely. I mean, there's, think about it from this standpoint. Everything in his life was turned upside down, you know, from his house, his phones, his computers, everything. And he had a nanny cam. Everything was looked through. And not one iota of criminal activity was found. It was just a baseless, baloney accusation that was made.

to say hank's the victim talk talk okay so let's talk about this so this all sure this all stemmed from hank had a guy come to his house to give him a massage was it this guy was a professional

masseuse no no Hank gave the massage Hank gave the massage but wait what is the deal with Hank Hank is Hank a masseuse no no if you know that I'm not going to get into all the details because they're all kind of you know um I think unfortunately uh that they were inaccurate and the reporting the reporting of this and this is where it really irks me from one of our local stations took free reign to report wrong, you know, things and facts that happened in this case. And he got it from, you know, a police officer, I would imagine it had to be, I don't know, I could have met someone else, I doubt it. But anyway, Hank had, was the one that, that gave the massage.

Okay, so Hank had a guy come over to his house, is this like some guy that he had met or a friend or some, because I know Hank's in a relationship, but sometimes people have open relationships. is this somebody that he was in a relationship with that he brought over to the house to give

a massage to no relationship there was no sexual innuendo at all in this case okay so i mean and he took two polygraphs okay and obviously in those polygraphs i mean and they were tough polygraphs they weren't easy yeah um they were by you know former law enforcement people and he passed both of them there was no you can wipe that thought process out of the the ether that there was any kind of sexual connotation and that's what was another big problem with this is because that's where people's minds went and that's uh that was that was a problem but no he gave a person a

massage the guy was in his okay the guy was in his house he and then this guy made an allegation against hank saying that hank did something right and that's what caused for right because because i will say this to you uh todd i reached out when this whole hank thing came out i reached out to the law enforcement because i wanted i i didn't want to be the person that came on the air and reported this story unless i knew that there was any potential seriousness was with this i reached out to some of the people at oakland county and when i asked the question the the response that i got i said this there's there's no way i know hank for a long time there's no way that hank did anything wrong the response i got back from one of the big law enforcement people was you do not get a a judge does not give a search warrant unless there is probable cause there there must have been probable cause was there probable cause yeah i can show you probable

cause and a lie the affiant lied in the in the that being the person that swore to the to the okay to the case you know and so i can slant anything for a magistrate not a judge a magistrate to sign off on a probable cause warrant but here's the thing that really other bothers me you know if you went to kim worthy's office if you went to uh you know other prosecutors offices and I guarantee Karen McDonald wants this to happen. But cops in Oakland County don't go to the assistant prosecutor, their prosecutor, to have them review and sign search warrants. If that were the case, this search warrant would have never been signed.

Really?

Because it was that bad. The cop just took it to the magistrate, and the magistrate rubber stamped it. That's the sad part about it, and got his door broken in. And the other thing that's wild about this, this case happened, you know, look at the timeline. It happened in April. they broke down the door in June. And it's kind of stale. It's a little old to go break down someone's door. I mean, what are you going to find in that situation?

Do you believe that Hank was targeted because of his being a local celebrity and being a television news guy? And honestly, doing stories that potentially, maybe I don't even know the background of this guy, maybe the help me hank segment or something like was done i mean i is what is do you guys have like

a motive of why this guy's doing this i think hank was definitely targeted you know i've had that that vibe about this for a long time based on what i read based on the evidence we pulled this hank was definitely targeted now why what that motive is i don't know is it because hank has a partner uh because you know this guy's a neo-nazi this guy has some slants to him that doesn't like hank maybe a story that i don't know i don't know that that motive explain the neo-nazi thing

because i feel like in these days we're seeing that come up a lot where there's these people that are called you know they're they're there's pictures on social media you believe from the picture that you guys showed at the press conference which is the Thank you.

Picture this guy putting his hand up in the air and doing what looked like a salute. You believe that this guy is a neo-Nazi off of that picture? Or do you guys have any kind of other facts that are out about this guy? And this guy doesn't like Hank because potentially he doesn't like Hank being?

So he had in that photo, yeah, yeah, he had in that photograph, if you look close, we blurred out his face. But in there, he had Hitler underneath, right, and he did a salute to Hitler. So that, you know, kind of speaks loudly. Also, he had a mustache in a Hitler form, kind of big. And then on the right arm where you do the salutes, Neil Rockhine was explaining to me, he has on this wrist guard, which is used to injure people that a lot of the SS wore. So it was kind of all of the things put together. It kind of walked like a duck, sounded like the photos gave a thousand words.

Do you think this guy targeted Hank because of Hank's lifestyle and being a gay man in a relationship with a dad and all this stuff? Do you think that that was the case?

I definitely think there's a possibility for that. There's definitely a big motive for that, I think. Possibility. I mean, yeah. I don't know. There's something to it.

Could they file charges against him for this? Is there anything that he potentially could be charged against making a false allegation?

I don't see it. I don't see it because the, the, the fact of the matter is, um, the, the cops did what they did. They did this search warrant, even though it's a bogus search warrant. I just don't, I don't think they'll put the energy into going after this guy. Yeah. You know, I don't know. I just, it takes too much work. That would take too much energy and too much work. I live in this sandbox every day of the week, twice on Sunday, and I just don't see anybody doing that.

All right, Todd Flood's on with us right now. For those that missed it, Hank Winchester, I'm sure, heard this story because it was all over the place. This story became national, especially because of—

International, because Hank's profile with doing the podcast with Kelly, and that podcast obviously is an extremely popular podcast. Kelly Stafford is a very popular person. um kev would you any questions you got for um he was put on administrative leave

now that he's cleared is you feel like he has plans on coming back and like what's the timeline

for that you know i would hope so i really would hope so i i got a lot of calls and text messages from people i know at wdiv uh giving great support to hank um i'm not involved in that section of it my man John Marco is, but I can't imagine him not going back to work. But that's just my personal

opinion. I mean, here's the thing. Ultimately, if you're the TV station, and I know this in our business, you know, I've been pulled off the air a couple of times, never for allegations. I've been pulled off for things I've said on the radio. And if you don't get an opportunity to come back and reestablish who you are as a person you you know it hurts a career you know and hank obviously has had an outstanding career so i would hope that oh yeah if this is found out to be in a false claim being made by a guy that is trying to slander and make hank look bad the tv station has to back him and i would hope that they would put him back on on tv i really want hank to come on the air with us and i mean and i would obviously treat hank as fair as can be but i would also ask him the same questions I'm asking you. This just sounds crazy. I hope Hank doesn't ever bring another guy into his house to massage him ever again, because I hate to say this, you are lending yourself to these people doing stupid stuff like this and doing this, you know, this bad things. And I, and if I, and as a friend of Hank's, you know, and I've texted along with him the whole time saying, Hey Hank, I'm, I'm here for you. I care for you. And if this is something that, you know, is found to be false, I will be there for you. And if this is found to be whatever, I will also be there for you because I do care about him as a person. I would tell him the first thing is don't let some, you know, a-hole come into your house, you know.

Well, that's a no-brainer, but obviously that didn't happen. But here's the thing that you can take solace from is that he is vindicated. He is cleared, right? It didn't happen the way it was alleged to have happened. He has been damaged just by this accusation. So I think he's learned an immense, obviously, gig here. He went through hell, literally. He was, you know, you know, Hank, this was insanely tough on his family. Yeah, insanely tough on his family. He's a great guy. He's a great dad. He's a great dad.

I have a question for you.

This was just texted to me by a fellow media person here who asked me not to say who it is. They said that Hank is trying to get his – or is working on a massage license. Is there a truth to that? Because I didn't know that. Hank is trying to actually become a licensed masseuse.

Yeah, so the fact of the matter is that I'm not going to get into all the details of him getting a license and not getting a license. but uh that the he he wasn't in the there there there was this accusation that uh he he was by this reporter that was out there uh and where she got those facts i don't know but whatever the

case may be um the reporter you're talking about actually i'm also friends with and that's is jessica dupnack who's over at channel four or channel two at fox two and i hate to say this I think in, I know you guys are upset and I, Hank will be mad at me for saying this, but if you get a story that is as big as there's a, uh, cops knocking into the door from what I understand that they actually kicked in the door and went in with a press, uh, or with a, uh, you know, a warrant. I think that you got to do a story like that. I don't know how you, you hold back on a story.

No, I don't think so. I'm just going to disagree with you. But let's say you're right for argument's sake. I think at least you should do is corroborate your story with good facts.

You know what I mean? Hey, Todd. It's unconscionable.

Todd, I got sued by a former member of this show and Channel 7 and one of the reporters that was over there who was actually a friend of mine did the story, never called me at all to ask me anything about the story. And all you see is pictures of me that are from our Facebook nonstop talking about how I heavy handed a co-worker. And I got to tell you something. It sucks to be on the end of that. Luckily, the vindication comes once the legal process is done. And that's where we are right now with Hank. And I think Hank is, you know, vindicated, you know, with the prosecutor who's an aggressive prosecutor in Oakland County. If they had anything on Hank, they're prosecuting this guy.

Guaranteed. They have to. They have to, yeah, with, you know, a vengeance.

Yeah. Well, Todd Flood, I'll tell you, you'd be the guy I'd call. I'd call you in a second, man. This guy knows his stuff. Float warning. Kevin, you ever get in trouble? This is the guy.

You obviously did a great job for Hank. channel 4 if Hank's if if everything out there is the the case here that Todd and Neil said in their press conference where the prosecutors say that there's no charges being brought up against Hank he had nothing to do with this stuff you got to put uh Hank Winchester and help me Hank back on TV and if you don't do it amen to that if you don't do it then I think that it looks bad
