00:02:21 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 10:

all right it is mojo in the morning show i gotta tell you guys we uh chelsea and i went out uh trunk or treating this uh weekend with our friends kids and our friends and it's a different thing when you go to a trunk or treat that is not one of our station event trunk or treats because i sit there and i watch these poor people that are having to pass out candy to all these people and i sit there and i go this is so much nicer than me having to pass out candy or be there doing it i can actually watch this and i can make commentary on what's going on you know where when we do the trunk or treat we have to sit there and smile we have to work we have to

00:03:02 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 8:

well it's fine it's super super fun it really is i love meeting people but it's work you think it's

00:03:07 - 00:03:22 | Speaker 10:

fun to watch the people that are going through trunk or treating see i like seeing all the little kids costumes well let me let me describe it's not just the kids it's not the kids and it's It's not the parents, and it's not the people that fake that they weren't in a line already once, that they've got to go through twice.

00:03:22 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 8:

Which happens every single year.

00:03:24 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 10:

This church trunk or treat that we went to, and it was, I think it was like a Greek church or something. This church trunk or treat that we went to had surprisingly a lot of 20 and 30 year olds trick or treating without kids.

00:03:38 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 9:

Hell yeah. Wait, what?

00:03:40 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 10:

Yes.

00:03:40 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 9:

How is that allowed?

00:03:42 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 10:

Exactly.

00:03:42 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 7:

There's no age limit on fun. There should be.

00:03:46 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 8:

No, there shouldn't. Yes, there should. When it's a trunk or treat for kids. When does it say for kids? Exactly. Did it say for kids?

00:03:52 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 10:

You added that. It was. Well, isn't the whole thing?

00:03:55 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 8:

Okay, isn't that just like a known thing? No.

00:03:57 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 10:

Yes. It's supposed to be a...

00:03:59 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 8:

And then you take your kids' candy when it gets home. When they get home, you sneak some candy every now and again.

00:04:05 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 9:

By that logic, should people not get dressed up and go out on Halloween when they're older? Should we not go to the bars dressed up because it's for kids? I'm not giving you candy if you come to my house.

00:04:13 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 10:

If it's a bar. Who is that? Megan, if it's a bar, it's meant for 21 or over. It's already a bar.

00:04:19 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 9:

Listen, I don't care what your age is. If you put on a costume, I'm going to give you candy. I do not care. You put in effort. The problem is that I am.

00:04:29 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 8:

Here's the problem with that, because I'm all about putting on a costume and enjoying yourself, but when it is an event that is, let's be real, truly meant for kids, and they run out of candy because all the 30-year-old douches went through and got candy from the

00:04:44 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 9:

cars. Get there earlier That's no fun That's not my problem

00:04:47 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 10:

You gotta buy more candy

00:04:49 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 9:

Yep

00:04:49 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 10:

We live in a world where It's too crazy right now And we want people to have fun And celebrate the holidays

00:04:57 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

Yet when I show up with full intention

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 5:

when celebrating the holiday and being festive, I'm too old and I can't?

00:05:04 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 6:

You show up to my trunk, I'm giving you a bit of honey. Or a box of dots.

00:05:09 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

Tootsie Rolls.

00:05:10 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 6:

I like the math of Tootsie Rolls.

00:05:11 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 4:

I'm giving you my Planet Fitness free Tootsie Rolls that I get. By the way, this is definitely a Gen Z thing or a millennials thing because I feel like the Gen Z and millennials take advantage of stuff like this. But I want to ask this question. How old is too old to trick or treat, okay? How old is too old to be trick-or-treating or trunk-or-treating when you don't have children? If you have children, I get it. I'll pass you candy. As a matter of fact, I'll give you an adult beverage if you want.

00:05:38 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I love that. Grab some little airplane bottles and have those for the adults.

00:05:42 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

I'll do that. You know what? You want something? I'll get you something. What do you want? What's your favorite? What do you like to do? Give me a little joint of Hennessy. I'll give you. Do they make little bottles of Hennessy? I believe so. Do they? All right. I guess I was thinking Fireball or something like that. I wasn't thinking about that. but um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 what is the age limit on trick-or-treating where is the age cutoff for trick-or-treating um i saw this there's a few places that actually have an age limit like for instance in virginia a town called chesapeake virginia the city of chesapeake limits trick-or-treating for kids 14 and under.

00:06:22 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 7:

What cranky buttholes went to their local city council meeting and said, no more older children. Get a lie.

00:06:31 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 6:

I think you should be able to sugar treat until you graduate.

00:06:36 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 4:

It's a class four misdemeanor.

00:06:37 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 5:

Where'd you say this was?

00:06:39 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

It's in Virginia.

00:06:40 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

They probably got a lot of crazy rules.

00:06:42 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 4:

Belleville, Illinois. They have a law too. They say 12. They say 12 years old and you need to be wearing a costume. They got to have at least a costume on You're not even a teenager Also, Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey Says that trick-or-treating age is recommended For anyone that is under the age of 30 years old Are you serious? Under the age of 30 years old That sounds like there's not much of an age limit on that one Megan, you would be out of that limit there You're just over by a year or so

00:07:15 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 7:

It's literally There's no fun in the world Let people live

00:07:20 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

hey what's happening uh jennifer how you doing i'm good how are you good we were talking about

00:07:27 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 1:

too old to trick or treat who's the too old to trick or treater well i don't think he's too old because i we all went together with a family thing um but my fiance is 40 well he's 41 now but last year when he was 40 he did trunk or treating with my teenager and the people were giving him candy, but some of them were looking at him like, you have facial hair.

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 6:

I'm too old.

00:07:54 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

You know what? See, I'm giving it

00:07:56 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 6:

to the parents. When we do our Trunk or Treat, we all would give it to the parents, too. But if the Trunk or Treat was all 30-year-olds, I'd be super bummed. Why? Because it is for kids. Those events are for kids. How would you feel if the 12-year-old showed up at the club or the bar to hang out

00:08:16 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 7:

with you for your party? I don't think it's the same I also think it would be different if you went to a trunk or tree and 30-year-olds were, like, pushing kids out of the way. That's not what's happening. If I'm waiting in line, I'm getting a piece of cake.

00:08:28 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 5:

Now, this is the only holiday I think it's acceptable. You can't be 30 and go to the mall and sit on Santa's lap. That's when we got to draw the line. No, I disagree. I took my dog and I did that. Wait, Shannon, that's acceptable?

00:08:41 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 6:

Sure. You better believe in Santa until you die.

00:08:45 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 7:

Now, here's what I think is unacceptable. Easter. You don't get to look for eggs unless those are like the planted mini bottles like Mojo. Which I did. I was going to say it's different. But like if it's candy, you can't search for eggs.

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 4:

Hi, George. How you doing?

00:09:00 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

I'm doing good, Mojo. Good morning.

00:09:02 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. What do you think?

00:09:04 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

I think 15 is a cutoff. Even when kids turn to my house and they look too big, I even ask, how old are you? They're like 16. I'm sorry. I stopped at 15.

00:09:12 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 4:

No, you do not. You turned them away at the door. You're asking for vandalized cars. You're asking for sugar in your gas tank. Those kids could be out doing vandalism and drugs. Oh, okay. We're egging your house, sir. Yeah, give them, if they're over the age of 18, give them edibles or something, like gummies. See what they think of that. Angelica, hi. What's up?

00:09:36 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I just wanted to say, I think the cutoff age would be like 16 or 17. If you come to my door and you're 17 years old, I'll give you candy because at least you're not out there doing anything bad.

00:09:47 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Yeah. Like getting a job or something, right?

00:09:50 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Like a trick-or-treater, I think that'd be okay too. But like, yeah, like 30 years old, I don't think so.

00:09:56 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Listen, with the economy right now, I might be trick-or-treating this year.

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 8:

I might be asking people for everything that they have in their house. What's up, Diana? How you doing?

00:10:05 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 6:

I'm good. How are you?

00:10:06 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 8:

Good. We're talking about, like, what is the age limit for cutting off on trick-or-treating?

00:10:11 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 6:

Well, my kids' age vary. I've got an 8-year-old, 14, 18, and 21. My 8-year-old and I went trick-or-treating while my 14-year-old son went trick-or-treating and did his own little thing. But there were substantially more kids that were probably 16, 18 than there were my 8-year-old's age. And this was the most respectful trick-or-treat experience I've had since we've been here 14 years ago. And I see nothing wrong with it. I mean, yeah, the prices are high of everything now, but they're being kids. But those are high school kids.

00:10:41 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 5:

High school kids versus 40-year-olds is different to me. High school kids, acceptable. 40-year-olds, not acceptable.

00:10:47 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 6:

I dressed up and went with my kids, but I didn't want candy. You know, it's just part of the fun.

00:10:51 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 5:

But you also didn't go to a trunk-or-treat by yourself without your kids, like Mojo's talking about.

00:10:56 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 6:

That right there gives you, I'm not going to say the word, but it gives you different vibes.

00:11:01 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. This ain't a ditty party.

00:11:02 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. Those are not comparable.

00:11:05 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 8:

You're crazy.

00:11:07 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 6:

All right, thanks.

00:11:08 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 8:

What's going on, Tanya? How are you?

00:11:10 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 7:

Hey, good morning. How are you guys?

00:11:12 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 8:

We're doing okay. We're bah humbugging anybody that is too old, or at least I am and Shannon is. Kevin and Megan, those guys plan on trick-or-treating this year.

00:11:24 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 7:

Go for it. I did until I was shamed at 30.

00:11:27 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 8:

Until you were shamed? How did you get shamed?

00:11:31 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 7:

Well, I was with my teenager and a humbug adult, you know, wouldn't give me any candy and told me I should be ashamed of myself.

00:11:43 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 8:

What were you dressed as? I want to know what your costume was.

00:11:46 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 7:

I was a sorcerer that year. Okay. Last costume, yep.

00:11:50 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 8:

I'll tell you what, Tanya. You come dressed in a sexy costume. I'll give you some candy, okay?

00:11:54 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 5:

How you doing?

00:11:57 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 8:

Now you at the Diddy party.

00:11:58 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, but remember who called us the Diddy party attenders.

00:12:01 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 8:

All right. Look, does that change things, though, depending upon how the adult is dressed? If the mom, by the way, is hot, the kids get better candy at my house. They get the full-size ones? Oh, believe me. My God. Yes, they do. If the mom shows up and she's attractive and gets out of the car, the other thing is the moms who pull up in their van out in front of the house, walk around the neighborhood,

00:12:21 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 5:

kid. The kid smells like cigarettes. I am handing out stuff to the parents this year.

00:12:24 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. You know what?

00:12:25 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 5:

You guys are walking contradictions. I'm handing out White Claw, High Noon, and beer to the parents, which I'm not giving to the kids.

00:12:33 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 6:

Just so I'm clear, it's acceptable to spend multiple dollars on an adult walking around, but a three-cent piece of candy is off-limit.

00:12:43 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 5:

It's not about the candy and how much the candy costs. It's the event is meant for kids when you're talking about a trunk or treat.

00:12:48 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 8:

Exactly. All right. Well, happy Halloween. Of course I want a full-size candy bar.

00:12:56 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 2:

I mean, getting a fun-size candy bar is fine. But everybody wants more than two inches. Happy Halloween from Mojo in the Morning. Fresh summer mornings start at the sink.
