00:01:37 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 7:

Has there ever been a bigger occupation that scams people, and I'm not talking about Spike, phone scams, than tree trimmers? I have to just bring this up right now because I know in a day or two, tree trimmers are going to be out because the tree trimmers are right now, they're raking in the cash. These guys are making so much money. It is absolutely ridiculous.

00:02:02 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 5:

You can't hate on them for hustling, though, because for half the year, their phone doesn't ring. So now this is their chance. They're in high demand.

00:02:09 - 00:02:34 | Speaker 7:

So my neighbor had a tree that fell down and had to have tree trimmers come out and cut the thing down. The tree trimmers told my neighbor it was going to be $1,000 plus, like $1,500 to do it. When the tree trimmers came out, because it was a big old tree, when the tree trimmers came out, they added another $700 to the whole thing and my neighbor was stuck with a tree sitting there that they couldn't get into their house. And I'm telling you, it is the, to me, it's a total

00:02:34 - 00:02:42 | Speaker 5:

highway robbery. Well, if they gave a quote and then they changed the price once they got out there, you gotta like trash them and give them bad reviews because that's not good business.

00:02:42 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 7:

If you only knew their names because they don't, they never have names of their companies on the sides

00:02:46 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 1:

of their trucks too. That is so true.

00:02:47 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 7:

And they're an LLC or something like that. That is so true. You have to call us up and share with us if you've ever been scanned by a tree trimmer at 844 Mojo Live, because I know it's craziness now.

00:02:57 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 1:

So I live in a neighborhood where there's tons of big, big old trees. And so I constantly have issues with branches falling, or I just need to get them trimmed, you know, for various reasons. And so last summer, I have these four big trees in my backyard. And this is so stupid, but when I bought the house, the people had just landscaped. And so they had said, you need to shape these trees. I don't even know, like, you know, to make them skinny or whatever. Or else they get overgrown and my neighbors get mad. So I called this company. I had some other branches and stuff that they had to work on anyway. And I said to the guy, can you also work on these four trees back here? They need to be shaped. I feel so stupid saying that. But like, okay, whatever. And so when I got home from work that day, I could see everything else had been trimmed except for these four stupid trees in my backyard. And the guy goes, oh, but I did. I did do it. I go, no, you didn't. And he goes, yeah, I did. You know, I made them into this. I go, that's the shape that they were before. I had to go and pull pictures of the kids in the backyard to be like, look, they look exactly the same. How much did he want to charge for that? Oh, I don't even know. I pushed that memory out of my head because it's one of those things that you don't want to spend money on, but you have to. And it is ridiculously expensive.

00:04:04 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 7:

It's so stupid. Actually, do you guys know the comedian, Theo Vaughn? No. He's so funny. He's on Barstool a lot, and he does Joe Rogan podcasts. Yeah, he's got the mullet.

00:04:14 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 4:

This is Theo Vaughn talking about this. I'll tell you, a damn branch fell in my yard. that thing hit you know it hit down in the yard and the man came from richards branch company or something and he said eleven hundred dollars to get the branch out of the yard dude i had a fellow in mold building offered to kill someone that we both knew that we didn't you know i guess think should be alive for a thousand you're telling me richards that i can get a man a human removed from the earth for a thousand but 1100 out here on this dead wood so you know what i did i'll tell you exactly what i did i got me a uh fisker's saw i brought it i got me that fisker's 18 inch there and right as he's telling me as he's telling me 11 i'm cutting that bastard off i'm throwing chunks over the fence

00:05:05 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 7:

there goes 200 worth right there now we down to 900 richards i always love it they always are

00:05:12 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 8:

like that richards tree trimmer what's up kim hi i'm just chiming in because their insurance is so expensive that's why they charge so much you must be the wife of one are you uh no i work in the insurance business and they have the highest insurance premium of all industry yeah if they're

00:05:31 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 4:

legit they they should be licensed and insured but we're talking about the guys that don't even have a name on their truck and then they change the price three times richard the phone call

00:05:40 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 7:

david are you a tree trimmer yeah my name's actually ken but um yeah no i i own a tree

00:05:51 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 5:

service uh i'm up is it called tree trimming is that what it's called no no no it's it's k and k

00:05:58 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 7:

tree service k and k what's the other k for is it the last name chris it's actually my business partner is chris real quick question who's the scammer kenny or chris no no i wanted to uh i

00:06:10 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 5:

wanted to touch on that because you're absolutely right man if someone's providing you a quote and then they're changing it i would absolutely tell them to leave my property that's not that's not

00:06:20 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 4:

Well, the problem is they know you're not calling them again for five years. It's just this immediate tree needs to be moved, so they know they got you in a tight spot.

00:06:29 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. I mean, for us, we don't really operate that way. We like to provide a good experience, and we want people to call us again and again.

00:06:36 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 7:

Do a commercial right now. Go ahead. Say the name of your business and give out your phone number and stuff like that if people need tree training.

00:06:42 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 5:

Hey, guys. We're K&K Tree Service. We're about 45 minutes north of Detroit. My phone number is 248-835-4731.

00:06:51 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 7:

And the K of Kenny does not scam. If Chris comes out there, ask where Kenny is.

00:06:59 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, you got it, man. No, but also the logos on the truck, man, if someone's pulling up to give you a quote and they got no business name on their truck, I'd tell them to get to stepping. I mean, our names are all over our trucks. That's good. We're fully insured, and we take that seriously.

00:07:15 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 7:

All right. Take care of yourself. What's going on, Tori?

00:07:19 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 9:

So I had a really big tree in my front yard for years. And we called the city because branches, like huge branches, would just fall down all the time. And the city said that even though the tree was really old, it was healthy, so they wouldn't cut it down. So we paid like $3,500 for a company to come cut it down. And they didn't even clean up the rest. They didn't grind the stump all the way. We had to call them back to re-grind the stump, and they still didn't clean up the dirt. And then that's not even, the worst part is like two months later, the city that I'm in, the tree company that works for the city came out and cut down all the other trees on my street.

00:07:58 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 7:

Oh, no. What city is this?

00:08:03 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 9:

This is Lincoln Park.

00:08:04 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 7:

Jeez. I'm going to tell you this right now. I hate trees.

00:08:07 - 00:08:08 | Unknown:

I hate them.

00:08:08 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 7:

I can't stand them. I don't want any trees.

00:08:11 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 4:

See, I went out in that ice storm this week. I started looking around my backyard because I was thinking this summer I was going to replace my deck. So I was like, this old wood deck is falling apart Wait, did you say your deck? My deck So I was looking at the trees thinking Is there one close enough I could push into this deck And have it fall Because then at least my insurance will pay for the deck But none of them were I had no good big trees in the backyard to do that That's it

00:08:32 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 7:

I have to pay for my own deck Yeah, you should work on saying that I'd like to replace mine too Let me show you my deck You'll understand what I'm saying

00:08:46 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 3:
