Hey guys, Bobby Bones here, host of The Bobby Bones Show. I'm always tired because I wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning, but it's all worth it because I get to hang out with all my friends and my studio. We share our lives. We look for as much good in the world as we possibly can with Tell Me Something Good, and we talk through the biggest news stories of the day, and also your biggest and favorite country artists are always stopping by. Mojo in the morning. You're home of the phone scams. Got a scam coming up here in just a little bit. Stick around for that. We were talking about the awkward thing. that is, like, something normal that's awkward. And one of the comments that was made was, like, when you're checking out at stores, how awkward that is. Well, Megan had a very awkward situation happen to her yesterday at Ulta.

00:01:42 - 00:01:43 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, okay.

00:01:43 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 2:

First off, what were you buying at Ulta?

00:01:45 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 5:

Oh, too much stuff that I didn't need. It always gets me, all that stuff up at the front. It's one thing that I needed, and then, like, seven things that I did, did it but i wanted so do i have body glitter for this weekend yes i do oh and we got we're

00:02:02 - 00:02:12 | Speaker 2:

going to talk about that uh later this morning guys uh with megan because megan's going to visit uh our old producer ellen in chicago and why is she bringing body glitter with you'll have to

00:02:12 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 5:

find out actually we'll play it later yes i didn't even plan that but actually that's very very true so i i decided because i was super busy this week is kind of absolutely insane for me if i'm being honest and i knew that i didn't have a lot of time to run errands so i said you know what i will definitely not shop during the show because that would be highly inappropriate but i may or may not sorry i had to clear my throat i may or may not have placed an order online for pickup uh because i just knew that would be fast they would send me like a notification you can drive over and pick it up so that's what i did and as i got to the store i i walk in and i look at all the registers and if you've ever been to this store before do we say the name of it already yes okay so if you've ever been to ulta you know that there's always 8 000 people in line no matter what time of day you go i don't know how they're so busy they're busy all of the time we all want to look beautiful very true very true so i looked at the registers and one of the registers i swear to god you guys was labeled online pickup so i said obviously that's the place for me and i stood there there are two employees okay two employees at these registers checking people out and i make eye contact with both of them but you know what i'm thinking i just got here people have been in line for a while obviously they're going to help a few people out and then they'll come to me no problem pull out my phone start answering some emails and a lot of time starts passing so much time in fact that i noticed that 30 minutes has gone by now i'm a little bit frustrated at this point i'm not gonna lie because the whole point of placing an online order speedy pickup right not so speedy so i um look at one of the girls checking him out and i'm trying i'm trying so hard you know how you you get so mad you have to watch your tone of people that you're like it's it's fine it's not that serious and i went so is this the place where i'm supposed to be waiting for online orders or should i get in that line and the girl literally snaps at me and she goes No, you're in the right place and continues checking people out. And I was like, I don't know what to do at this point because I feel like I'm in trouble and I'm not doing anything wrong. And she continues to check out like 10 more people before she finally comes over to me. And I had been there for about 40 minutes by the time that I got my online order that was ready to go where I don't have to sign. I don't have to pay. You just show your ID to show that you're the right person and you walk away. Could have done all my shopping while I was there. What do you do in that situation because I felt like I was about to be a Karen and that's my biggest fear in life.

00:04:54 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

It's interesting because I don't know if that's the norm for them because I've never done the online ordering.

00:05:00 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 3:

But I have seen people come in at the Ulta that I go to and go right to it and they get it in two seconds. And, you know, all it takes is them to sit there and verify a license or something. Right. And be able to get it. It's interesting that that, you know, it's like there's so many different ways now that, you know, with everything that happened during COVID kind of made everything different. Online ordering, curbside pickup, you know, it didn't make it better, it just made it different. Well, it made it more difficult for the people behind the counters, too, because they're only one person. now they have to do like three different things right but i always feel the same way megan when i go into chipotle to pick up my online order and even in in they have like the don't they have like a bookcase there yeah yeah you know a bookcase where they do it but if your thing is not on there but yet it says that your order is already done there's the person there and i i feel awkward asking them yeah excuse me uh do you have a tom there you know like i'm trying to do the whole

00:05:56 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 2:

Well, because you feel like you're cutting.

00:05:57 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

Yes, you feel like you're cutting a long line.

00:05:58 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 2:

It's the worst. I order online from Zara a lot. I love the store Zara for myself and the kids. And you save $5 if you get the order shipped to the store. So I just get it shipped to the store and I'll run and just go pick it up. But if you've ever been to the Zara at the Somerset Collection in the Detroit area, which I think is the only Zara in this area, it is a complete spit show there. And the line is so darn long. so I always feel so bad but I'll just go ask somebody who is working yeah like you know cleaning the shelves or you know organizing shoes or whatever and I'll just say I'll show them I'm just here to pick up an order and usually they'll go back and get it for me I don't have to sign anything I don't have to pay but I still I feel guilty like I don't want anybody to see me doing that even though I think it's the okay thing to do but has anybody ever had this happen

00:06:49 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 3:

where you saw your order sitting there okay you saw the order you saw your name on there and just

00:06:54 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 1:

reach back grab it and just left yeah i told you about the fast oh that's right i remember that

00:06:59 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

yeah i'm still living but did you see but did you see it there or no yeah you saw it actually

00:07:05 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 1:

sitting there i'm like but that's mine i ordered online it's ready can you hand it to me no you have to get it through the drive-thru no i don't want to go through the drive-thru marlene what's

00:07:12 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 6:

going on good morning everybody good morning good morning marlene hey um so being a karen is when you're in somebody else's business. When you are handling your own business, it's called taking care of your business.

00:07:30 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 1:

Right. Okay.

00:07:33 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 6:

You know, everyone's so scared to be a Karen, but that's when you're better learning something that don't belong to you. That is your business, Megan. I promise you, the next time that happens, I want you to get on Messenger, hit me up, and I will come to the store, and we will get a discount on that one. Oh, Lord.

00:07:51 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 3:

I love that. That's actually great. That definition, Marlene, says it all right there. That is the best. Hold on. We need Marlene's. You definitely need to pass off your phone number to Megan. Megan might actually. Thank you for the call, Marlene. Take care of yourself.

00:08:09 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

You're welcome. Have you guys ever been in a situation where there are like two or three different lines and you realize once you get closer to the front that you're in the wrong line? And you've been waiting, and then you need to jump over, but you're like, do I really have to go all the way to the end? That's the worst, too.

00:08:28 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 3:

You feel like you wasted so much time. Lily, what's up?

00:08:32 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 5:

Hi, good morning.

00:08:33 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:08:35 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 5:

So, I'm a door-to-ass driver, and there's a lot of times where I'll go to certain places. Like, this happened the other day. I went into a pizza chain, and they were very, very busy and dealing with some very rude customers. and I felt really bad. But I saw my order literally just sitting on the back shelf. It was technically their part where employees can only be. But I just saw it was the order I had to pick up, and it was already 30 minutes late, and I literally just walked back there, grabbed it, and walked out, and no one noticed.

00:09:01 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Right. Did you do it, by the way, in a really sly way? Like, were you tiptoed to it?

00:09:07 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I kind of used my side eye to make sure no one was looking.

00:09:12 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 3:

Thanks for the call. Appreciate it, Lily.

00:09:14 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 4:
