I'm Mange Shachigular, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:00:49 - 00:00:54 | Speaker 1:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

00:00:54 - 00:01:00 | Speaker 4:

Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:01:01 - 00:01:17 | Speaker 6:

Can superstars even exist the way they used to? 2016 was sort of that last era of monoculture where we still consumed things in community. Everybody wanted to be Beyonce at that point. I don't think we'll ever see another Rihanna.

00:01:17 - 00:01:24 | Speaker 5:

What does it mean to be Black and eat in America? You will never make me feel bad for being a Black girl, for being a Black American girl, ever.

00:01:24 - 00:01:36 | Speaker 6:

From music to food to the conversations shaping Black culture right now, Therapy for Black Girls is bringing it all to the mic. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:01:37 - 00:01:43 | Speaker 2:

Catching cheaters. I'm proud of it. Ow, I'm sorry. It's your home for War of the Roses on Mojo in the Morning.

00:01:43 - 00:01:46 | Speaker 9:

Audra, who is it that you think your boyfriend is cheating with?

00:01:48 - 00:01:54 | Speaker 7:

My best friend and roommate, who's basically like my sister. We're really close. We're like sisters.

00:01:54 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 9:

Really? And you think that you guys, as close as you are, and your boyfriend, as committed as he is, you think that these two guys would cross that line?

00:02:06 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I'm kind of getting the feeling that they're doing that.

00:02:09 - 00:02:11 | Speaker 9:

What is it that has made you think that?

00:02:14 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 7:

Well, whenever he comes over, they're always talking. It's like I'm not even there. And I've actually caught her texting him before. And then when I asked her about it, they both act like it's nothing. Like, I'll ask her, like, what's going on? Like, why are you texting him? And then I'll ask him about it, too. And they say that it's nothing. What are they texting about, though? I mean, I don't know. I haven't seen the text messages, but it makes me wonder. And, you know, what really makes me uncomfortable is that I found out that he's actually been at my house when I'm not home. just hanging out with her. Like, that's really, really weird because, you know.

00:02:58 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 9:

Kevin just brought up a really interesting point. He just, he kind of wants to, what was it?

00:03:03 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 8:

I feel like I'm not sure. When you say you caught them texting, but you didn't see the message, like, what do you mean you caught them texting each other?

00:03:13 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 7:

Because I saw his number, his name come up on her phone when we were hanging out together.

00:03:19 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 9:

But you didn't ask to read the text messages or didn't...

00:03:23 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 7:

Or say, like, why are you guys texting each other? What's that about? No, I didn't do it because, honestly, I was scared of what the answer would be.

00:03:33 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 9:

Do you think that these guys have ever been with each other aside from them just being in the same room together? Like, you know what I'm talking about? Like, that they've fooled around with each other?

00:03:43 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 7:

um i hope not but i am worried that that may have happened all right we're gonna call them up we got

00:03:54 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 9:

both of their numbers we're gonna do a three-way call and we're gonna call to see what they sound like talking to each other without knowing that you're on the phone you're gonna have to be really careful about making sure that you mute your phone and do not say anything until we're able to get some information out of them okay okay so mute your phone right now are you muted there you go all right where are the roses

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

hello hello hello hello um yeah hello yeah hey

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 2:

What? What's up? Why are you calling right now? I'm at work.

00:05:04 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 3:

Oh, uh, what? No, I didn't, I didn't call. I thought you called me.

00:05:12 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 2:

Um, I didn't call you, but whatever.

00:05:14 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 3:

Oh, all right. Well, how, how's work?

00:05:19 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 2:

Eh, it's fine. I'm, I just stepped out. It's fine. We can talk. What's going on?

00:05:24 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no, nothing. I didn't even know her. I don't know. My bad. I thought you called me. I'm just, um,

00:05:33 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, um, so, like, it's so funny you called me today, because I was just thinking about how much I miss you.

00:05:45 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 3:

uh it has been a long time nothing to do too but you've been you haven't been a while you haven't

00:05:54 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 2:

00:06:02 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 3:

00:06:17 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that is so sweet. I can't wait. Like, can you tell me what it is?

00:06:24 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, it's a surprise. It's not, like, a big deal, though, so don't, like, but it is, like, I don't know. I think it's cool. I think you'll like it. I was just, yeah, I know you'll like it. What, uh, is there, like, a day that's best, or can I just, I mean, I'm not really sure

00:06:38 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 2:

Nick, this is the Mojo in the Morning Show. and your girlfriend Audra contacted us because she thought that something was going on between you and her best friend. And it sounds like there's something more than just you guys having a friendship together.

00:07:52 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 3:

I mean, we are just friends. I mean, we're basically family.

00:08:01 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 2:

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 3:

Wait, what's going on?

00:08:10 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 1:

What's going on is that Audra was a little worried that something was happening between you and her roommate. And Elena, do you have anything that you want to say about this?

I'm just, like, friends with Nick. It's not a big deal.

00:09:00 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 1:

Audra, what do you think?

00:09:04 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 2:

Why are you guys even talking to each other? You have no business talking to each other.

00:09:14 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

Nick? You hung up the phone? Elena, are you there? Elena? Elena? There's something.

00:09:40 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

00:09:44 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 1:

How are you not going to get involved?

00:09:45 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 2:

We already are involved.

00:10:19 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 4:

Would he be spending the night if he's spending the night without you there, Audra? Or is this...

00:10:24 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 6:

No, he absolutely should not be spending the night there. With her? If I'm not there?

00:10:32 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 4:

Were you planning on leaving and going out? Were you planning on not being home?
