We've all seen the headlines. Florida man wrestles alligator in a tuxedo or Florida man sues after finding toenails in his ice cream.

00:01:40 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 6:

It's easy to laugh at the meme, but have you ever wondered about the human behind the headline?

00:01:45 - 00:01:46 | Speaker 9:

Hey, I'm Frankie P.

00:01:46 - 00:01:51 | Speaker 6:

And I'm Amelia. On our podcast Hidden Florida and Beyond, we're going beneath the surface of the Sunshine State.

00:01:51 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 8:

From interviews with real people who make Florida weird. I'm pulling it up and as I'm pulling it up, I see an arm.

00:01:58 - 00:01:59 | Speaker 7:

Stop it.

00:01:59 - 00:01:59 | Speaker 8:

Come down.

00:02:00 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 7:

To deep dives into the stories you didn't know you were looking for. Hey, give it up for Mark Wahlberg on the podcast today. It's more than just a meme, it's a lifestyle.

00:02:12 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 6:

Hidden Florida and Beyond with Mark Wahlberg, May 21st.

00:02:16 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 4:

mojo of the morning war of the roses i have a couple of thoughts and i will tell you this one of my first thoughts when we were in the midst of doing that three-way call war of the roses was are these guys like messing with us are they just trying to get on the radio with War of the Roses, like, is Audra full of crap? Is this not really a situation where she thinks that her roommate and boyfriend are cheating with each other? Just because, to me, I'm listening to the conversation that they're having, and I'm like, they just sound like they're

00:03:02 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 7:

full of crap. So obvious.

00:03:04 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 4:

And then after having conversations after this had been done, after the War of the Roses had been taped, they are legit, like 100% legit, where it is just a case of, I don't know, maybe some dumb people. I don't know. I don't know the story. I mean, to put it bluntly. But 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I got a couple of things that I wanted to get to topic-wise, and I think that this is definitely a good topic. Roommate cheating. Has anybody ever had that happen to them, where their roommate cheated with their boyfriend or girlfriend? If that has ever happened, I want to hear your story. And then also, can you as a boyfriend go over and spend time at your girlfriend's apartment or home while she's working late at night? Because nothing good is going to come out of that if you've got attractive roommates. So there's a few things to get into here. Let's grab some phones and let's ask you guys what your thoughts are on this one. Sam, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning. What's happening with you today?

00:04:14 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Oh, I'm just listening to you guys on my way to work.

00:04:18 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 4:

I love it. Thank you for spending time with us.

00:04:21 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 5:

Sorry, I'm just jumping right to it because this one's got me boiling. How are you going to do that to your roommate? Who says they miss their roommate's boyfriend? Number one, that was like the first where I'm like, yay, you know. And then the gift, I need to know what the gift is.

00:04:36 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:04:36 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 5:

I need to know.

00:04:38 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

Well, that is the interesting thought of like who does this, you know. First off, I always think to myself, you're not only screwing over a friend, now you're having to find a new place to live. Correct. I'm not doing that. I think, honestly, I'd give up my friendship before I'd have to give up the fact that I have to get a U-Haul and figure out how to move again. Rose, what's happening?

00:05:00 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 1:

Mojo in the morning.

00:05:01 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 5:

Hey, good morning. So I agree with the other caller. I was also going to say, like, what kind of roommates is that they, like, miss their roommate's boyfriend, number one. But number two, if your boyfriend and roommate are texting and they're hanging out without you, that should just be a giant red flag altogether. Like, you should end that nipper right in the bud before it even begins, number one. But if it's going on and you catch it, cut everything off, both of them, out of your life. They don't deserve to be a part of your life anymore if they're going to hurt you in that way.

00:05:38 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

I'm shocked, by the way, how many people are like, my boyfriend comes over and hangs out with my roommate all the time, and they're just fine with it. They really are trusting that this is not going to end up leading to something.

00:05:52 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I mean, I can see that. Like, it really depends on the type of dynamic and, like, friendship that goes on when you're around. But you never know what happens behind closed doors when you're not there.

00:06:04 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 1:

Right. And they have too much time to spend with each other if she's working a lot. Bridget, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning, War of the Roses.

00:06:11 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 2:

I can't say that.

00:06:13 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

Bridget, even though I would like to agree with you that, yes, that is a spitty friend. You cannot say the word, though, okay?

00:06:21 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

Crappy, crappy.

00:06:22 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

What a crappy friend.

00:06:23 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 4:

what a crappy friend yes what a crappy friend and that's exactly why i don't let i don't hang out with females in my home around my home around my man because i've actually had that happen in the past where people have been my friends and then i've found out like they were messing with my ex and i just and it sucks because i you know i want to support women and be about women but it's like my younger years have made it where I don't I don't and it sucks because I really want to have those relationships with females because I, you know. So you won't even have

00:07:03 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

your own girlfriends over your house?

00:07:07 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 4:

No. No, I will not. Especially if my husband is home. Once in a great while, but it's not like we don't hang out. I don't know. I will go hang

00:07:16 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 1:

out over there. Is your husband so hot that these girls would want to jump his bones?

00:07:19 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 4:

um i don't he's he's just really nice he's a good you know he's a good man do you think sometimes

00:07:26 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

the single girls that are friends of yours look at what you have and want i don't even think they

00:07:31 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

have to be single really i don't even think they have to be single because i've had friends that were in relationships that have actually there was actually one relationship where i was like so like shocked that the girl messed with my ex because she was actually dating his best friend

00:07:46 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 1:

And I'm like, hold on, I'm going to, you know what? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I've got to, I got, I've got to dump you and, uh, and hang up on you.

00:07:58 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 2:

I just know Daniel's dressed, but I agree with you.

00:08:01 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 1:

What the F, what the F, um, hold on a second.

00:08:05 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 2:

We've got to give him a second.

00:08:07 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 1:

Let me, uh, let me grab this one here. Uh, you have a question, Hope, uh, keep it clean.

00:08:15 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 3:

hope what's going on oh definitely keep it clean but i'm like ultimately confused because like what's the deal is she just not admitting that she's sleeping with him because she doesn't want to be home with or like is she really that dumb to think she likes the attention and she doesn't

00:08:36 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

doesn't think she's he's trying to get in her pants well it's funny because i think that when and she made the comments that she made at the end of it when we told her who we were and everything, I think that what ended up happening was Audra's roommate didn't understand that the entire conversation was already done. We taped it. We had it. We could play it back because she then fessed up that they have been spending time together. But, yeah, the way that she reacted, we're just doing nothing. I really miss you and all the rest. I'm going to buy you a gift. I mean, craziness. And by the way, I asked Audra this question. I said, when's the last time he bought you a gift? It's been way too long. You know what I mean? Like, you can't buy gifts for another woman and having not been a guy that's a gift giver.

00:09:23 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, gift me all the time and my friends while you're cheating.

00:09:27 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 1:

Austin, what's up?

00:09:30 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 2:

Hey, how's it going, you guys? First time in a long time.

00:09:31 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 1:

Hey, Austin, I'm a fool.

00:09:34 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

so i actually when i was like 19 i had an instance where i let my i got a house and i let i let my girl move in and i actually let her mom and her boyfriend move in and uh one of my exes actually ended up sleeping with her mom her mom's boyfriend oh wow yeah wow yeah it was a really cool you You know, we were really cool roommates.

00:10:00 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 6:

So what did your girlfriend's mom do when she found out that the boyfriend was cheating with this person? Because I think any time you put a bunch of people together in a place, alcohol gets involved. That's when things go crazy.

00:10:14 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 2:

I mean, there was no alcohol involved, but I ended up putting all of them out. And then the mom and the boyfriend stayed together and ended up moving into a hotel room or something.

00:10:25 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 6:

So no alcohol was involved at all. What was it then? Because usually it's alcohol or weed. I don't know. Sometimes it's some kind of an extra, you know, it's something that, like a night, everybody's guard gets down, and then next thing you know.

00:10:38 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 3:

Is there a hot tub?

00:10:40 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 6:

Or that, you know what? Honestly. I think Megan might be right. What's up, Samantha? Hi.

00:10:46 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Good morning. Good morning.

00:10:48 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 6:

Where are the roses we kept?

00:10:51 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 5:

Yes. So I was just listening, and it made me think of a time I had some friends over at my house, and my friend had never been over, so my boyfriend's like, oh, I'll show you around. Mind you, I've been friends with these people for, like, five years. So they go upstairs, and she's trying to get in his pants.

00:11:10 - 00:11:10 | Unknown:

Oh, boy.

00:11:10 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 5:

And this is my boyfriend of, like, seven years. And her husband had just passed away, like, three days ago, and she's trying to get with my boyfriend at my party. upstairs where all the bedrooms are like trying to get in his pants and stuff so he brings her back downstairs and she says that she tells him i'm too turned on i gotta leave so she leaves and she's texting him the whole time and he ended up telling me about it we had a falling out with her but i couldn't believe it that's wild the grief was clouding her judgment do you think the grief

00:11:46 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 6:

was or do you think that she was just that type of person um i i didn't think she was that type

00:11:52 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 5:

of person after her husband died we were there for we're like hey if you need anything help paying for anything she needed something anything at all wow that's amazing she wanted more it's

00:12:02 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 6:

amazing though that she would do that right in your own home that's wild and you're you know Not that far away, it sounds like. Ashley, what happened?

00:12:14 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 4:

My best friend ended up leading on my boyfriend's roommate, who was the homeowner, and moved in with him. And then, like, me and the roommate, my boyfriend's roommate, would, like, would catch them. Like, she snuck in through his bedroom window downstairs one time and was, like, avoiding a fight with Adam upstairs.

00:12:36 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 6:

Wait, hold on. Stop for a second. and I'm a little confused. Your best friend ended up moving in with your boyfriend's roommate. So then was she trying to fool around with your boyfriend or the boyfriend's roommate?

00:12:49 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 5:

Yes, yes.

00:12:50 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 4:

Oh, okay.

00:12:51 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 6:

And who's Adam? Who's Adam?

00:12:55 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 4:

The boyfriend's roommate. Okay, so she was like leading on kind of.

00:13:00 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 6:

So she's leading on him to get to your boyfriend.

00:13:05 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:13:06 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 6:

And do you know if anything ever happened? Did your boyfriend do anything?

00:13:11 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 4:

No, they, no, they didn't. Well, not that I know of.

00:13:14 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 6:

Wow, you don't sound confident.

00:13:16 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 4:

Hesitation, baby. But, yeah, I guess, I don't know. I don't know. I will not together, and I don't talk to her anymore. He's actually passed away, too, but.

00:13:25 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 6:

Oh, jeez. Oh, my God.

00:13:28 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 4:

Pretty crazy, though. It was very uncomfortable.

00:13:30 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 6:

Did you kill him?

00:13:32 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 4:

No. Kind of sounds like him, my girl.

00:13:34 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 6:

Are you sure?

00:13:36 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:13:37 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 6:

keep running the phone for 30 more seconds

00:13:39 - 00:13:43 | Speaker 3:

if it was my investigation you are suspect numero uno

00:13:43 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 6:

yeah I'm sorry that sounds to me like

00:13:46 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 3:
