It's funny, we were having a discussion, me and Brian from Red Robin. You guys met Brian when he came in the studio. And we were having a discussion about, I think everybody on the show has worked in a restaurant once or twice or three times in their lives, right?

I think everybody should just to have empathy for what the service industry is all about.

I was a busboy and an appetizer cook at a restaurant called Hackney's. I used to have to make the onion loaves along with the fried mushrooms. And you know how those restaurants would have fried mushrooms? They were so good. They were so good. Yeah, and they would serve it in like a big old basket with like ranch dressings and stuff like that.

Oh, my God.

And then I was a busboy, too. I know, Shannon, you were a hostess.

I was a hostess, yeah.

Spike, you worked at Burger King, right?

Yeah, I did a lot of fast food.

Mike, where did you work? I worked at a pizza place, so I delivered pizzas. I worked at fast food, busboy.

Were you McDonald's?

McDonald's, yeah.

McDonald's, yeah.

And Megan, famously, you worked at Red Robin.

And I did everything there from cleaning the kitchen to I was an expediter, a host. What is an expediter? I took the food. So when you are a server, you fill out tickets. And then the kitchen cooks it. And then the expediter stands in between the kitchen and the servers. And then we assemble everything, finish everything. Oh, okay. Make it pretty. And then organize it.

And then sell it out.

So I did that. And I was the Red Robin. I was the mascot. You were the mascot. Oh, my God. How was it in that costume? Oh, my God. It's so hot, dancing on Monroe Street in the middle of summer, two hours every Saturday.

So Brian and I were having a discussion, and these guys have given a large amount over the years to breaking in every Christmas wish, but this year they want to give more than ever. So he said, hey, you know, I want to be able to give you guys even more money than I'm already going to be giving you. And an idea came about, and I thought, oh, my God, this would be so much fun because it would be us in a place where we could eat unlimited amounts of food. I already like it. I really like it. Have some of the best beer on tap, Spike, for you, and milkshakes for me. Gingerbread milkshake. So we talked about the idea that all of us will get back into a restaurant, we'll work at a Red Robin, and...

One night only, though. I don't want a permanent shift.

Well, if our bosses don't like us, who knows? Maybe that will be our future. We'll have to depend on Brian. And the idea was that they would give the benefits of that night. to Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish so that we can grant more wishes for families.

I love it so much.

And so hold on. I want to see if I can call him up. I was talking to him yesterday. And I want you guys to look at your calendars because the idea was that we would do it like the first week of December. So we'll do it. I think it is. Hold on. I'm trying to think of what the date is. Is it, what's the Thursday of December? It's December 1st. December 1st, perfect. First day of December. Yeah. So let me call Brian real quick. uh choose that would be a convenient one and and one that the listeners might be able to get to

yes we're gonna do uh liz and her team at the south gate red robin south gate red robin okay

we got a lot of listeners around the road right on your oh my god that's gonna be perfect that will be actually a good for everybody but uh the people in grand rapids they'll have a chance to see us but we're gonna do something cool for everybody else uh in other cities you know or they can't get to us if you can't get to us from Toledo or you can't get to us from east side of Detroit or whatever or Grand Rapids, we're going to do something cool too. But we're all going to wait tables that day, and Megan's going to be the Red Robin mascot. Did you guys find the costume?

Yes. We found the mascot, and we're excited. Megan, you can bring back the old memories of being on Monroe Street in 100-degree weather. It'll be great.

I'm so glad you found it. I'm so sorry that you're not going to be keeping it that long because once I get it, I'm stealing it.

You know, what's funny, Megan, is that I've heard that from probably four people as far as, you know, if Megan sees the costume, you're never going to see it again.

Brian, do you have jobs that would be perfect for all of us? Because you seem to believe that me sticking in the kitchen was a good job for me. But what about for everybody else on the show? Where do you see, you know, like Shannon and Spike and Mike and Reese and everybody?

I think I would excel as a host, as the host. That's my job.

That's my job, though. Actually, Spike, talking to the people you work with, you're going to be behind the bar. Oh, that's a good one. Okay.

Two beers for you. The bar would be a great place for you. Yeah.

I can wait tables. I think I'd be great. The only problem is I talk to people too much.

You're going to wait tables. Yeah. We are going to have, let's see, Megan, you're going to be the ringleader driving and directing everybody. I know all about the three-foot rule. Shannon, you're going to be helping run food and take care of the guests.

Okay.

I think Mike and Reese, they wanted to put you as a dishwasher, but I said, you know, we could probably do something a little bit better for them. So, we're going to throw an apron on you and see how you do taking care of our guests that are in the restaurant.

I love it.

So, Liz down and her team, they're going to be really excited to take care of you. It's going to be a great event. It's going to be so much fun.

All right, so December the 1st, this is going to be our – we need you to come out. We want you guys to come have a good meal, and we're going to raise more money for Breaking Entering Christmas Wish. It's going to be at the Red Robin off of Eureka Road in Southgate, and we're getting back to our roots of working in a restaurant. Megan specifically is getting back to her roots roots of actually getting in the Red Robin costume, and it's going to – honestly, it's going to be so much fun. And, Brian, thank you for the support that you guys have given us for so long. Anytime we've ever asked you for meals for listeners, you've been more than happy to do that. And I know that your staff is awesome, too. So we love you guys so much. We appreciate you so much.
