All right, are you ready?

00:02:34 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 6:

You're listening to Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:36 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 7:

You're a doo-doo hack.

00:02:41 - 00:02:42 | Speaker 1:

It's showtime!

00:02:58 - 00:03:28 | Unknown:

We'll be right back.

00:03:28 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 7:

Oh, you are a sweetheart. Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Last day in our iHeart Detroit studios in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

00:03:43 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 5:

We did it. We made it. We did it.

00:03:47 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

Thank you, Kamala. I appreciate it. By the way, can I tell you something? This is one of those moments where we have to say to ourselves, somebody's watching out for us I believe it's God because we didn't think that this studio was going to last this long and now it may not I mean we could like lose something in the next I don't know who knows four hours or so four hours and 15 minutes but it's going to be an interesting well we have been waiting for this moment forever and I guess it's official I think we turned the keys over at like 11 o'clock this morning I think that's it yeah they're shutting everything off Man, oh man. And if you see the studios here, maybe we'll do like a Facebook Live for everybody so that they can see. But it's empty. Like every other area. Like they even took the recycling bin. Did you see that? No. The place that you would put recycling paper in, that company has officially called it quits. They're no longer there. They took the water filter out. Water filtration is gone. No cookie, no water, no cookie. No coffee, no water. No cookie too. No cookie for you. By the way, we have to welcome a...

00:05:00 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 1:

special guest who's here with us earlier this morning our boss Colleen came in with us this morning and my favorite was when she said how do you guys do it how do you guys wake up this early in the morning that makes me feel good I like that that actually Colleen did you just wait that's fantastic Colleen's gonna present our engineer Mark with a very special honor today because he's the one that got us through this damn thing. Isn't that amazing?

00:05:32 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

Is she doing it right now? Are you doing it right now on the air? No.

00:05:34 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 1:

No, we'll do it a little. Oh, okay. You tell us when you want to do it, Colleen. I hope so. Okay. Colleen came in. Colleen, I can't believe you, by the way, woke up this early in the morning to be with us.

00:05:43 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 2:

You guys are crazy.

00:05:45 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 1:

Everybody has moved. When did the sales department move? Like three weeks ago or something? Yeah, something like that. Yep. So sales moved, and then each and every of the radio stations, and now obviously Grand Rapids, Toledo. Toledo, I know, did a move. grand rapids i think they just moved floors so they just went like up a floor or down a floor or something it looks so great there um but uh we're moving like literally you know we're moving from farmington hills michigan to detroit which is probably where we should have been all along but you know it in obviously we got to say you know thank you to guys like dan gilbert because they kind of made it possible for detroit to kind of get revitalized and all the cool stuff that's going on the ford family the illitches and all those people you know being able to go to you know get us into detroit and get us back to detroit where we should be but um it's a cool moment this is uh gonna be pretty wild and last day bruh i can't believe by the way such a cool moment there's all these things that have happened megan made a bunch of cookies for all of us for the last day including gluten-free cookies thank you that was very sweet of you megan really be on

00:06:50 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

her baker vibe lately she is i've always been on it i just thought i would bless you guys no i'm

00:06:55 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 2:

This last month, though, you've been bringing in a lot of cookies, though. That's what it is.

00:07:01 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

Which is unbelievable because, Megan, you look fantastic. I don't know how you even want the temptation around.

00:07:08 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

I was going to say, he was like, you haven't been bringing these cookies in all year. I'm like, I don't know if you've noticed. I look a little different than I did a year ago. Probably because I stopped making these so often. There's so much butter. I used four full sticks of butter yesterday. Holy Jesus. I just ate half of mine, and that's all I'm eating. They are the unhealthiest cookies in the world, which is why they're so good.

00:07:26 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 1:

It's unreal. And then Kev, he did a special thing for us today. He wore his Subway sandwich artist uniform.

00:07:36 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 2:

I didn't even notice. It's that amazing. Still got oil stains from 2008.

00:07:42 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

Which Subway did you work at?

00:07:45 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 2:

Jefferson near Harbortown.

00:07:46 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

Oh.

00:07:47 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 2:

If you're going towards Belle Isle.

00:07:48 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 1:

All right.

00:07:49 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 2:

You know what's funny? You don't just work at Subway. You're a sandwich artist.

00:07:52 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 1:

As you're going towards Belle Isle from downtown, it's on the left, isn't it? It's on the right. It's on the right? Yeah. Okay, I thought it was on the left in like a strip mall there. Yeah, it is. Is it? Yeah, it's on the right. Okay, maybe. My directions are a little ... Anytime I'd go to the rooster tail, I think I would always pass by it, so ... And Shannon, I'm glad that you wore a hat again today. This is fantastic for the day.

00:08:14 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 4:

Well, I have something. I bought something last night for us, but it's not ... It's for tomorrow.

00:08:19 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 1:

Okay, for the first day.

00:08:20 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 4:

For the first day. All right. It's a little celebratory. I know you're all going to be shocked when I bring it in tomorrow.

00:08:25 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

I was talking to Lydia and KP yesterday, and I thought that all of us should wear suits tomorrow or dresses. What do you guys think? A special occasion? No.

00:08:35 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 2:

You think I have nice gloves? No. I know I'm going to wear a red jacket, though. I know that.

00:08:41 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 1:

You're going to wear the skin?

00:08:42 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

I already have that planned. No, no. Not the little jacket. We retired that yesterday. This is going to be one that fits. But we're going to be in a new IR studio. We'll have the new background, so I'm going to throw a red jacket on. Oh, that's good. Colleen, how does this feel for you?

00:08:55 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 1:

Because, Colleen, I walked by your office yesterday, so your old office that was here, and it brought emotion. Like, I've been emotional since last week for some reason. I don't know why. This morning, I honestly came in the latest I've been in a long time.

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, same.

00:09:08 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 1:

I didn't want, it was almost like I didn't want to even come in because of, you know, you get emotional about this. But how are you feeling?

00:09:14 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 3:

I'm just hoping the phone lines don't break down one last time.

00:09:17 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

Which, by the way, it did last week, but it was fun. I think I told Colleen that yesterday. I go, that was the most fun show that I think we've had probably in months. We took calls on TikTok. I love that. Which is incredible. Is it wild for you? Because, you know, it's funny. You've had two big moves. You moved your daughter to college this year, which was a big move. And now you moved your radio stations all to a new place.

00:09:40 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

I think that was easy compared to this. Was it really? Yeah, for real. I cried a lot then, but this is a lot harder.

00:09:46 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

So is this is it's weird because I said this yesterday on the air. It does feel a little bit like your home's moving. And it's funny because I remember moving and now I'd only worked at the Oak Park.

00:10:00 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 3:

studios we'd only been mojo in the morning for like four three and a half years or something at the time so i had no attachment to those studios matter of fact i was so excited to move where this one you get a little bit of attachment but i'm still excited for the new opportunities and new uh technology and all that cool stuff so how many days until you start driving to this studio again and not the one downtown megan i am not gonna lie chelsea and i were talking about this chelsea do you know that when we moved chelsea and i moved i've in all the years i lived in detroit i've always lived in west bloomfield and we moved only like a half a mile down the road she would call me and say are you on your way home and i'm saying yeah i'm like two minutes from it and then she'd go i don't see you at all and i would pull into my old driveway on cherry blossom circle all the freaking time because i would forget where i was going i think i'm gonna i will bet you money and i'm not hopefully it's not for like a month or so but probably after the first year i'll be on m5 driving to farmington because i i actually leave

00:10:58 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 4:

my parking garage two different directions and i just the first day i think i'll go the right way second day i'll probably go the right way third day i have a feeling i'm just heading this way

00:11:06 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 3:

i i want to know will we maintain parking spots like we do because i'm very superstitious i like the you know it's always based on how everybody gets here like the time that everybody gets here colleen when where their their cars are and so i'm feeling weird if we don't have it be like we're all like in the order of how we arrive.

00:11:26 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 4:

I am very superstitious about that.

00:11:29 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 3:

Like I don't like, like I'm like superstitious. Like the Lions wouldn't move to Ford Field in the middle of the season, right? You wouldn't see them change like that? This is the middle of the season for us right now.

00:11:40 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 5:

You're going to have to fight the people at Global Meats for your parking space. Oh, really? Are they there that early?

00:11:45 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 3:

Wait, somebody told me this story about them. It's what is it called? Global Meats?

00:11:49 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 5:

Yes, they're the largest corned beef purveyor in America.

00:11:52 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 3:

Shout out to your neighbor, Global Meats.

00:11:55 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 5:

Sometimes your studios will smell like cooked corned beef.

00:11:58 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 3:

Are we sure that that's corned beef?

00:12:00 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 5:

It actually happens. Kev has let out a few non-smelling. Shannon? I truly, Kev's farts do not stink. I don't know how. What is the deal? Let's not play this game.

00:12:13 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 4:

This is accurate information.

00:12:15 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 3:

The sound is there. That is such bull crap.

00:12:18 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 4:

The sound? The sound is insanity.

00:12:20 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 3:

Let me tell you, there's going to be times where Grobel Meats is going to call us up and think there's a gasoline just from the sound that's going on there.

00:12:29 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 2:

Like, drown out.

00:12:30 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 3:

It's going to drown out, yeah, any of them cutting up corned beef. Which, funny, are you guys corned beef fans? Bro, corned beef with the mustard on that thing? Oh, my God. With a pickle on rye bread? Jesus. Wait, do they just sell it to people, or do they sell sandwiches there? Like, can we go get a sandwich, or what?

00:12:48 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 5:

No, they supply to grocers.

00:12:50 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 3:

Grobel meets

00:12:52 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 5:

We'll have to talk to them about that

00:12:53 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 3:
