Welcome to Detroit.

00:03:07 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 8:

Where's my games? Because I know my thugs.

00:03:10 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 7:

Tell them hands if they show some love. And I'm looking to Detroit City. Is this thing working? Are we here? It officially has happened? Hold on. Hold on. Real quick. Most important thing that needed to move over. Did it move over?

00:03:24 - 00:03:26 | Unknown:

Ah! We got it!

00:03:26 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 8:

We're here!

00:03:28 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 7:

wow look at this man oh man and now for anybody that listens to this show and says why are they getting so excited well we're excited first and foremost because we have air conditioning that works and heat that works is that unbelievable give it up for christos yeah christos our landlord

00:03:53 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 6:

Guess what else we have? Internet. Oh, my God.

00:03:56 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 8:

Guess what else? Guess what else? I'm working microphones. Wow. Toilet paper. Toilet paper.

00:04:04 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

You know, it's the simple things in life, guys, that make you so happy. We are in our brand new studios. I do have to say real quick, it's going to be a learning curve for me. I did train on this thing, but I came down here this morning, and I think my anxiety made me forget everything. Like, I'm, like, asking Tony the Tiger over here, Tony Beers from our Tiger team. Oh, is that not the greatest? Tony the Tiger. I'm asking him, like, every five seconds. All right, what does this do? What does that do? Real quick, the most important thing that we need to know, where's the dump button for Kev? Right there, right? Those two. There's a word that I can say that I didn't know I could, but I'll save that for the 8 o'clock. Please don't. The phone lines. Okay, so you've got to test them out for us. 844-MOJO-LIVE We want to make sure that they got transferred over 844-665-6548 Something special for the first person

00:05:00 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 3:

gets through in the morning we also have to thank our boss colleen who uh she made us merch she made us welcome to detroit merch which is which is unbelievable so applause like where's my applause okay hold on which one is it you gotta turn the applause where's it at hold on oh it's really light it's light it's a little light oh no oh no i was at the wrong button pushed up that was me user error on that one this is not good radio sorry about that thank you colleen and she knows I hate logos of, like, the radio station and the Mojo in the Morning Show, like, wearing them out in public. I just don't want to go to Kroger and have somebody go, look at that guy. A little conceited, huh? Walking around with his name on his thing.

00:05:39 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

Came to hear himself talking. Yeah. Why is the I Hurt logo okay, but our logo is like, ugh.

00:05:45 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. You know what it is? I think it's the, that's the logo. That is the big logo. Which, by the way, I talked to Bob Pittman for 30 minutes yesterday. And he wants pictures. He said, Colleen, thank you for moving us to Detroit. He spoke very highly of Colleen and Kim and our management here at the station. We talked about how well Detroit is doing. Detroit is kind of leading the world right now. So anybody that's not advertising with us, you better get on board or you're going to be paying double the rates in 2025. Like lion season tickets. Right. Exactly. And then we talked about we talked about being in Detroit. He used to be a radio personality on WDRQ way back when, and he said it was such a cool thing. He never understood, but how are we not in Detroit? And obviously we're back, and Christos, look at this guy. Christos is our landlord. He brought us the bottle of tequila that will not survive the 7 o'clock hour.

00:06:50 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 2:

The man in the market. Look at this. Can we bring it over here so I can have that shot? It's pretty bottled, too. That's that Casa Azul, boy. This is Casa Azul.

00:06:58 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

Christos and his better half, Elena, who, by the way, is the most beautiful woman in the world, next to my wife, Chelsea, and Colleen, our boss over here, and Shannon and Megan and KP. She's beautiful. She's beautiful. She is a Grecian queen. I just want you to know that, okay? But they brought this over here, and we're going to crack it open, and I'm going to make sure that Fritz gets a few over here. Because Fritz had a lot of cameras.

00:07:21 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 4:

I also want to shout out our new neighbor, Derek, from Faust House Coffee. First of all, how cute is he? He's very cute, but his coffee, guys, it's like an orgasm in a car. It is the best coffee I've ever had. It's very good.

00:07:37 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my gosh. All right. Well, this has been awesome. We're here, and we're excited. We're going to get kind of used to some things today, and we just want everybody to know, thank you for putting up with us the last how many you know months that we've been telling you that we're moving we are moved we moved we're in baby and there's no going back right now unless we get foreclosed on and then it's going to be a really sad thing when we have to walk you want to see if the phone lines work all right so i don't it's a whole new system so anybody that has ever done uh you know the the studio visit to us i got a whole new system i'm doing it off of a computer. Who do we want for our first phone caller of the morning? Do we want a male or female? You guys tell me. Let's go female. We're going female? You want female first? Yeah. Am I going female first? Say hello to Sandra? Sandra, can you... Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. First caller of the morning!

00:08:33 - 00:08:34 | Unknown:

Sandra's on the phone!

00:08:36 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

You, by the way, I gotta get used to this. Hold on. First caller of the morning.

00:08:40 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

I'm not going to turn that down ever

00:08:44 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to leave it all the way up Sandra, how do we sound? Can you hear us?

00:08:49 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I can hear you great

00:08:51 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Great, well thank you, I appreciate that It's wonderful I want to have Lydia give you a prize I don't know if we moved any of the prizes over But I just want to put you on hold So I know how to put you on hold, okay? Alright, Sandra Hey, it was nice to talk to you, where are you from?

00:09:08 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 2:

Peter Crane

00:09:09 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 3:

I love it. Thanks for listening to us. We appreciate you. By the way, we sound clean, though. I like it a lot. It's crazy. I like it. This is insane. Hey, what's up, Thomas? What's happening, buddy?

00:09:20 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

Hey, man, you guys sound crisp, clean, clear. It's like putting on a fresh pack of tighty-whities, man.

00:09:28 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

There's something about that first, you know, underwear wear that you have. It does feel like that this morning, doesn't it?

00:09:34 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 2:

Don't say mm-hmm like you know, Kev. You don't change your underwear. Hey, listen, there are some things I'll tolerate, some things I won't. Thomas. A fresh pair of underwear I always welcome.

00:09:44 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 3:

Do you think, wait, do we think Kevin actually showered for today? Because today's a special day.

00:09:50 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll tell you I didn't. I thought about it, and I was like, at this point it's too late. I like morning showers. I like to walk in fresh.

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:09:59 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

At that point.

00:10:00 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 3:

New studio, I was like, let me just make sure I get there. That's the most important thing. Well, we had, Thomas, we had an early call today. So our call time was way earlier than we normally do. It was like 45 minutes earlier than usual. And then I have a longer commute now, which wasn't bad. So my commute to the old building was 16 minutes. The commute to here was 35. That's not bad. Now they'll shut the lodge down.

00:10:26 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 2:

Don't say that.

00:10:27 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. But Thomas. right so now you gotta leave before the uh the uh the early show starts up exactly you know what

00:10:36 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 3:

that's true i will i actually left this morning i left my house at 4 15 so i made sure that now can i ask is there any way that we can get like mcdonald's to open up early again like do the how come the mcdonald's didn't go 24 hours again the world's back to normal it's one on mac it might be 24 hours is it i think that one is too but i gotta go all the way to mac and then come

00:10:54 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 1:

I come up on back off the lodge.

00:10:57 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 3:

It's literally across from the freeway.

00:10:59 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 1:

Man, it's all right.

00:11:00 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 3:

All right, Thomas. Thanks for calling, buddy. I appreciate you.

00:11:04 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're welcome. Now, here's a million-dollar question. How far are we – God, I can't talk today. How far are you guys from the bathrooms in the studio? Because you can hear each other pooping in the other bathroom. It hasn't changed.

00:11:19 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 3:

Truth be told, you can hear the women in the bathroom, in their bathroom, and the guys in our bathroom. And I yesterday went in, and Teresa Lucas was in the bathroom next door, and I had a little bit of fear that a couple of farts were going to pop out during that time. But a lot is the fact that the other tenants in this building haven't moved in yet. I think we need more ambiance. So if we can get those guys to move in faster, Christos, we would appreciate that. Plus, we want to fill this place up, right? We're going to fill this thing up with love. Did you hear there's a Mediterranean restaurant that's opening up above us?

00:11:58 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 1:

Oh, the Fatoosh is coming? The Fatoosh. Oh, my God.

00:12:03 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 3:

Thomas, I appreciate it. I'm testing something out here this morning. If I go, okay, there. Okay, I did it. Let me go to Courtney. What's up, Courtney? How you doing?

00:12:12 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. Congratulations, guys.

00:12:15 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 3:

Thank you. Thanks so much, Courtney.

00:12:17 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 4:

You know what? exciting about you guys being down there you know obviously there's many reasons but the Lions are gonna win the Super Bowl so now you guys are right in the middle of all this now you're right in the middle of all the action

00:12:31 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 3:

and that's the beauty of this now we all we need now is the Ford family to give us some tickets that's all we need

00:12:38 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 4:

I work at Ford in Dearborn and I have to pass you guys all the time because I'm in St. Clair Shores so maybe I'll just make a stop and say hello

00:12:47 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 3:

00:13:21 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 4:

Exactly, exactly.

00:13:22 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 3:

this is the bishop statement at bishop state community college we want you to hear what our students educators and business leaders have to say alan lee my major is drafting and

00:16:56 - 00:17:40 | Speaker 3:

design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits, so I think that made me choose drafting design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.
