00:03:08 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 2:

You're listening to Mojo in the morning.

00:03:10 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 8:

You're a doo-doo hack. Here we go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Is this mic hot? Are we live? We are live, baby. Are we live? Really? All right. I like that. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Broadcasting live from the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Who? The big exclusive golf tournament. Actually, it's not really exclusive. Everybody's invited. As a matter of fact, it's free to come today, right, isn't it? Yeah. The free parking and stuff? Free parking and admission. I like this. Welcome to the show. To my right, Mike at the end of the table there. Hello, Mike. Hello, hello. Good morning. Sitting next to your slightly messy podcast partner, Megan.

00:04:04 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

Good morning.

00:04:05 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 8:

Right next to Megan is Shannon.

00:04:07 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 5:

Good morning.

00:04:08 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 8:

Right next to Shannon is me. Right next to me is Kevin. Four. And then right next to Kevin is KP. Hello, guys. Lydia's back in the studio. Also, Misfit Steve is back in the studio. And Steve, you're going to have to do me a favor, okay? You're going to have to do me a really big favor. Are you live on the radio right now with us, too? Okay, turn your microphone live on the radio. By the way, we're live on the radio, so this is the thing. If I'm talking to you, you've got to turn your mic on so you're on the radio, too, because the only problem is if you're talking to me and the listeners can't hear you, it sounds like I'm crazy.

00:04:42 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, yeah. It sounds like.

00:04:44 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 8:

My fault.

00:04:44 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 7:

I look like It's like Happy Gilmore It kind of works Did you by the way see that story this week

00:04:53 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

That Adam Sandler talked to the real Happy Gilmore Or hung out with the real Happy Gilmore I didn't know there was a guy really named Happy Gilmore

00:05:00 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

Isn't that crazy?

00:05:01 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 4:

Why did it take so long?

00:05:02 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. That actually does surprise me. Is he named after Adam Sandler's character? That's what I was going to say.

00:05:08 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 4:

Is he an old guy or is he a young guy that was named after the movie?

00:05:11 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. He's very young, but I don't know if he was named after the movie. But as always when we do these broadcasts, the first break of the morning is us trying to figure out how we broadcast. So, Zach, if Mark is in there, have him show you how to keep your mic off because I can hear every word you're saying. and a couple minutes ago, you just said that Lydia had a nice ass, and I just heard it. Definitely didn't say that.

00:05:37 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 2:

Zachariah.

00:05:38 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

And her dad, by the way, will come after you if he hears you're talking like that. Guys, this is cool. This is actually, honestly, for them to even allow us in a beautiful country club like this, look at this place. This is historic. I don't know if you guys know the history of this, and we'll have to go through it, But the most famous of famous people from Detroit, including the legend, the queen of soul, the hall of famer, God rest her soul, Aretha Franklin's home was like right there. Like she she literally lived right over there. And that's where she would go at night. And she would probably, you know, lay her beautiful head down on a pillow. And we're right here. We're right in this spot. Isn't it wild to think that? Yeah. Right by the seventh hole. and she had to listen to these lawnmowers cutting grass. Lawnmowers, leaf growers. No respect.

00:06:32 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

Generators. It's going to be a loud broadcast today.

00:06:35 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 3:

I always thought to myself, you made it when you live on a golf course, right? Like I always thought, you know, living on a golf course was like, ah, this is the best. if I had to wake up every single morning and hear the lawnmowers and then the yeah

00:06:53 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 4:

well and if you live on a golf course you can't really have like a backyard rager can you because don't you have to be quiet

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

well you have a very big yard

00:07:03 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 4:

I know but aren't there like don't you can't you just like you have to behave yourself is what I'm saying

00:07:08 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

I think that there's got to be policy about that yeah there's got to be like

00:07:11 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 4:

like I couldn't invite my friends over Because they sloppy.

00:07:14 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 3:

Your ragers? No, you could not have these things. Like, you get neighbors that complain about just your kids leaving their toys all over the place. No, they come over. Right? I mean, can you imagine this thing? There's some big-time names that are going to be here with us this morning. I feel bad, by the way, to say this. I'm really sad. I texted Calvin Johnson this morning.

00:07:34 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Oh, I love him. Subtle flex. Subtle flex. I know, right?

00:07:38 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 3:

That was kind of cool. A little hall of favor in the text. Okay. By the way, Aretha used to invite me over to her house.

00:07:43 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 4:

To lay your head on that soft pillow.

00:07:45 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 3:

To lay my head on that soft pillow. I texted him this morning, and we got bad news. This is very sad. I said, hey, Calvin, you know, told him where we're broadcasting. We're literally at the front entrance of this thing. So if you're coming today or you are somebody that, you know, is working this event because there's a million and one people working this thing, stop by and see us. We're actually right outside the ninth green, right, the ninth hole.

00:08:12 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

Let me explain it to you better. We are inside the craft cocktail tent.

00:08:16 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

Well, there you go. Okay. That's it. But we're right here, like right up at the front entrance. But I said, Calvin, hey, stop by, and he just informed me he's in Ohio. His grandma passed away last week. Oh, man. So they had their funeral yesterday, and he said that he wanted to say hi to all of you guys. He actually mentioned you guys all by name, Shannon, Megan, Mike, Kev, KP, Lydia. He didn't mention Misfit Steve. That's ridiculous. But he did say that he wanted to say hello to everybody, and he's sorry that he's obviously not here. But, of course, our prayers to Calvin Johnson and his family. His grandma was very, very close to him. How excited are we that this is basically like a morning off for us?

00:09:01 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 1:

This is kind of, you know. I have felt more stress right now.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Really?

00:09:06 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 1:

I don't know. Just making sure everything's all right.

00:09:08 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 3:

Where does your stress come from? Does it come from the fact that there's, like, 8,000 emails that have been sent to us about this whole thing?

00:09:15 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I feel like I don't know anything still. But we're working with what we got. Everything looks great. Mike's a golfer. Mike, you just started taking up golf, right?

00:09:27 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I've actually putt a few times on the greens here. I don't know if I'm allowed to do that, but I did. Did you really? I don't think you're allowed to. This morning you did? You're not allowed to do that? That's all right. Are you serious? No. No, I was about to say, like, legendary. I was playing World Series, too. Legendary. Did you bring your clubs with you? Yes.

00:09:45 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Tell us about your clubs. Like, where did you get your clubs? Because I always wondered about that. My first set of clubs were not hand-me-downs from my dad because my dad didn't have clubs. So my first set of clubs were a neighbor had a spare set, and he gave me a spare set.

00:10:00 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 2:

Mine were hand-me-downs from my uncle, who was a big golfer, and then my grandfather, who passed away a couple years ago. And I kind of blended the two together. And the bag is, like, from the 60s. It's this old brown, like, really light. It's faded. This huge bag. It's got tons of old, like, tees inside of it and golf balls. And I really haven't golfed with it much.

00:10:18 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 4:

Do you have any of the, like, stuffed animal heads as covers for your clubs?

00:10:22 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 2:

It was the Grateful Dead, but I lost those. But I had the little Grateful Dead bears. I had a bunch of those. And then a Ninja Turtle head, but I keep losing them. But, yeah, yeah.

00:10:29 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 4:

Smith, my five- or six-year-old, is a golfer, and so I bought him all, like, barnyard animals. So he's walking around with, like, a horse and a cow.

00:10:37 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 2:

But that's the best because you could be like, what club do you need? Grab the cow.

00:10:40 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 4:

Grab the cow. Yep.

00:10:42 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. I will say this, that I don't like to have – I used to, when I first got into golfing, I got personalized balls. And then they made those mojo balls for a while, and I don't know if they still make them. And here's the problem with having any kind of, like, personalized anything. You forget it somewhere, and people realize that you can't, you know, that you're not very good. Like, if you're a golfer that has personalized balls, how many times do you lose balls when you're out there golfing in 18 holes? I probably lose, like, eight balls or nine balls a round.

00:11:13 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 2:

I was waiting for you to say how many. A lot more than that. Yeah. Like 16 balls. Yeah. Like every hole. Every hole.

00:11:18 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 1:

So the worst is when a guy goes, oh, look at this. Oh, it's Mike's ball. You know what I mean? In the middle of the woods somewhere? Yeah. So you're like, how the hell did he? Or it's usually, how did he not find it? It's right here. All right. So how do we sound? Because I'm looking at some of the tweets and texts, and some people are saying that there's a quality issue. Has that gotten better at all? Will you call us, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, and give us an idea? Because, honestly, I have no idea. I never know. But look at this. Like, there's limos pulling up here with, like, celebrities and stuff at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Who do you think is in that one? You know what? I don't know. There's a whole line of them. It looks like, honestly, it looks like a presidential procession here of people that are just, like, pulling right up to the front. Honk if you are a celebrity and you listen to Mojo in the morning.

00:12:11 - 00:12:11 | Unknown:

Huh?

00:12:12 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 1:

No, I don't got anything. All right. So, all right. This morning on the show, Five Lives Tell Your Mom is coming up. We're doing the normal stuff as far as contest giveaways. We got Drake, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran tickets for your chance to win at 6.30 and 9.30. And then Drake tickets at 7.30, Ed Sheeran tickets at 8.30. And then we'll preview that tomorrow morning on the show, starting like right now, we will have Morgan Wallen tickets for you. Pretty much you have a chance to win the Morgan Wallen tickets from the moment that we sign on until at least 9 o'clock or so. So you're going to have a shot to win. So make sure that you're listening to the show for an opportunity. Last night was a semi-late night for me. I don't know how you guys were as far as going to bed. But you and Mike stayed, Megan, at a hotel or something downtown. Is that right?

00:13:09 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we were in the heart of downtown. Yeah.

00:13:12 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 1:

Where did you sound like you've got party voice going?

00:13:15 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 3:

A little bit. I got such little sleep last night it was not even funny. What were you doing? The person in the room next to me was very disturbing all freaking night.

00:13:24 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 4:

Like, doing what?

00:13:25 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 3:

I think we'll do David a little bit later.

00:13:28 - 00:13:29 | Unknown:

Okay. All right.

00:13:29 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 1:

Now I'm curious. Why did you tell KP that you got up at 2.30 then? What was the reasoning for getting up so early?

00:13:36 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 3:

I did just so that I could look presentable today because I knew that there might be some wealthy men here that I would want to do. That was my exact thought process, too. I was here to find a sugar daddy. And I got to tell you, this weather sucks. I am a naturally curly-haired girl. And five minutes after showing up, complete frizzy mess with this humidity. And I should have just left an extra hour and a half. I'm so mad.

00:14:01 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 1:

So you don't like your hair? I love the hair.

00:14:04 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no.

00:14:05 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 4:

You can't insult me when I showed up. She came in with it, like, beautifully curled and done. And then as soon as we sat down, it started getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. And so she finally just threw it up in a clip, which I told you I think looks beautiful.

00:14:18 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 3:

But I get it. You spend all that time on your hair, and then it's like, right. Literally 10 minutes after getting out of the car was like, could have slept an extra hour.

00:14:25 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 1:

I thought women love this, the humidity factor as far as their hair is concerned, because their hair looks fuller.

00:14:31 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no. Not when you're curly.

00:14:34 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 1:

Really? Okay.

00:14:35 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 3:

No, I have curly hair, too, Megan. It's the worst. Seriously.

00:14:37 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 1:

Are there any guys here or around the world listening to us, wherever you are, that have ever had to wake up that early just to get ready for anything? No. That is the one thing about us. Either we don't care or we don't have to worry about that. I'm sorry. Don't flip me off. Take it back.

00:15:00 - 00:15:10 | Speaker 3:

You don't have to put on makeup. You don't have to do like a skin care regimen. Oh, yes, we do. You don't have a lot of hair. You have great hair. I'm not saying you don't have hair, but you don't have as much hair as we do.

00:15:11 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 6:

Yes. But we do. Listen, I still have the same body parts as you guys do, and I even have a couple extra. And when I do that, I have to wash. I'm a large person in the shower and stuff.

00:15:24 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 5:

Don't pretend it takes you that long to wash that.

00:15:26 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 6:

It does. Because the water has to get to my body. It has to get all around my body. But the fact that you wake up at 2.30 in the morning just because you feel like 2.30 in the morning is going to get you ready, Megan, and you gave up all that sleep and now you're cranky and all.

00:15:41 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I'm disappointed, let's just say that. I think I've lost my opportunity to become a rich woman, and that's upsetting. No, I think it's still there. I still think you look good.

00:15:52 - 00:16:15 | Speaker 6:

Do people look at that? Do you guys look at going to events like this or, I don't know, that auto race that was downtown, the thing with the goofy-looking cars? The Grand Prix. The Grand Prix. Do women look at that as an opportunity to meet somebody? Or even guys, do guys look at it as an opportunity to meet somebody? You're going to meet a rich person just because the thing is kind of a rich person's forte?

00:16:16 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 8:

Typically, that's where rich people show up to is rich people events. Every time I look at the Kentucky Derby, that's what I think is happening.

00:16:22 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 6:

Really? Yeah. That the only reason why they're going to the Kentucky Derby is because everybody's trying to.

00:16:26 - 00:16:44 | Speaker 8:

Or All-Star Weekend. You hear a lot of ladies going to All-Star Weekend. I would say yes to All-Star Weekend. Kentucky Derby, they just walk around with a bunch of big hats. I don't know that they're hooking up with the big hats. But All-Star Weekend for sure. Yeah. Because that's like side chick stuff, right? Exactly. Super Bowl weekend, party, any atmosphere like that.

00:16:45 - 00:16:51 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Norma, grab Norma on line number 11 there, Zach. Norma, what's happening? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:16:51 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 7:

Hey, good morning. I'm good. How are you guys?

00:16:55 - 00:17:01 | Speaker 6:

We're good. Norma, do you wake up like extra early to get ready for things that you think hot guys are going to be at?

00:17:02 - 00:17:05 | Speaker 7:

Not for hot guys, but for work, I do. I get up at 4.30 every day.

00:17:06 - 00:17:14 | Speaker 6:

But what if you know that there's going to be somebody that you like or possibly could be attracted to there? Do you take extra time getting ready, or do you just get the same amount of time?

00:17:14 - 00:17:15 | Speaker 7:

Of course. Of course.

00:17:15 - 00:17:15 | Speaker 6:

Really?

00:17:16 - 00:17:17 | Speaker 7:

No, I think extra time for sure, yes.

00:17:17 - 00:17:37 | Speaker 6:

That seems like too much pressure. Thank you for the call. Amanda, what's happening, Amanda? Amanda. Goodbye, Amanda. Go to Amber. Okay. All right. Amber, what's happening?

00:17:40 - 00:17:42 | Speaker 5:

I'm struggling today, Mojo. I'm sorry.

00:17:43 - 00:17:43 | Speaker 6:

What did he just say?

00:17:44 - 00:17:45 | Speaker 5:

I'm struggling today.

00:17:45 - 00:17:47 | Speaker 6:

Are you on the radio telling us that?

00:17:47 - 00:17:48 | Speaker 5:

Oh, yeah, on the radio.

00:17:49 - 00:17:52 | Speaker 6:

What happened? Did you just hang up on everybody?

00:17:53 - 00:17:56 | Speaker 5:

I think Zach's hanging up on our callers. Zach.

00:17:57 - 00:17:58 | Speaker 6:

Do I?

00:17:58 - 00:17:59 | Speaker 5:

I hear somebody, though.

00:17:59 - 00:18:04 | Speaker 6:

Oh, who's this on the phone? Hello? Hello? Hi, what's your name?

00:18:05 - 00:18:07 | Speaker 7:

Am I on the radio now? This is Kathy.

00:18:07 - 00:18:22 | Speaker 6:

I don't even know. Hi, Kathy. I have no idea where I am. I don't even know if we are. Where are we, Kathy? I'm in Megan's hotel room trying to get her to go back to bed because I don't think she needs to be waking up this early in the morning for this stuff. What's going on, Kathy?

00:18:23 - 00:18:33 | Speaker 7:

Oh, I had called. Lydia answered about the quality of the sound. Yes, tell us. Okay, it's like very static, a little static.

00:18:34 - 00:18:37 | Speaker 6:
