It's Mojo on the morning show. It's that time of year. Actually, I think the whole, you know, year is that time of year. But it's always at this time as the deer start realizing that they're about to get hunted, that you have to beware.

00:02:01 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 6:

I hate that. Oh, I hate that noise.

00:02:03 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 8:

When you're driving, you know what I hate worse than that noise? I hate the noise that happened to your husband, Wes. I just, I love deer, so all of that makes me sad. I'd rather see a bullet come between the eyes than an antler come between my front windshield.

00:02:20 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 6:

And that's not really what happened. And it's kind of even crazier than that. So we were in Allman on Saturday morning for a high school cross-country meet for my stepdaughter, Samantha. By the way, Allman is such an adorable and beautiful little town. Good Grounds Coffee Company. Holy cow. Like the best coffee and donuts and whatever else I had that morning. It was so, so good. Shout out to small business. She did great. She came in, I'm trying to think, second place. She did phenomenal. but it was so we so we dropped her off and then she had to be there like an hour before the race started and so Wes and I were like we're gonna go into the little town and get coffee and food and on our way back to Dryden High School there were it was so pretty there were all of these hot air balloons in the sky and so you know me I'm like you know trying to lean out my window to take photos of all these beautiful hot air balloons which if you follow me on Instagram you saw but I'm busy doing that and we're going down this long winding road and all of a sudden Wes screams at the top of his lungs and stops the car and he was like did you just see that did you just hear that and I'm like well no because I'm taking Instagram photos of the hot air balloons like I had no idea what had happened but apparently a deer had run out into the road as we were driving realized that it was about to collide with west's truck turned around to go back into its home in the woods but in the process its antlers scraped the side of west's truck and his mirror oh and you couldn't hear it that's how close it was to us no you guys i was in my own

00:04:02 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 8:

dang world you were hanging out a window just listening to the breeze huh uh but he was like

00:04:07 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 6:

How did, I mean, I could see what had happened, but he's like, how did I, how did we not actually

00:04:13 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 8:

like, what kind of damage did it do though?

00:04:15 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 6:

Not a ton, but you could like, you can tell that something, yeah, you could tell that something happened.

00:04:19 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 8:

Like a key scratching or worse than the key scratching?

00:04:21 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 6:

A little bit worse than a key scratching.

00:04:23 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 8:

That's close though.

00:04:25 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 6:

But it's like the deer knew its life was about to end and started like, nope, I'm not ready yet and turned around.

00:04:33 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 8:

If I was Wes, I'd be cussing that deer out. I'd be like the goddamn deer.

00:04:38 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 6:

Oh, he felt terrible, because he's like me. He loves deer.

00:04:40 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 8:

He loves deer? You're telling me that he's also like that? I would be like, damn it. What does he drive, by the way? A Dodge Ram. A Dodge Ram. I would rather have it hit the front of my thing and just obliterate the damn thing. What is wrong with you, man? I don't, deer, you know how much money deer end up costing?

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

seeing you and obliterate do you know that if you hit a deer it's on you you get there's no you know with this michigan insurance and stuff you're screwed i will say that's why i've never

00:05:10 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 5:

seen so many deer in my life before i moved out here and started working out here you have to really drive slowly in the morning because they out here do they not have deer in the city of

00:05:20 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 4:

detroit hell no there's no deer in the city of detroit you're telling me that when we move our studios to downtown eastern market i don't have to worry about the lodge of a deer jumping out

00:05:29 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 5:

at me? Never, bro. Oh, that's great. You may seem like a loose dog. That's probably it.

00:05:33 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 4:

Loose dog? Really? Yeah, that's it. I hate driving an M5 on my way in in the morning

00:05:39 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

because I feel

00:05:41 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 4:

like they're going to jump out at me at all times. This is going to be... I'll get to work on time. I drive slower because I'm worried about a deer jumping out.

00:05:50 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 5:

Man. Yeah, deers are scary, man, because they could really mess your car up. Oh, my gosh. You see some of these videos, they come through the windshield sometimes. I know.

00:05:58 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 4:

Do you ever see the story where the went through the thing and then the deer was still alive and it started panicking because it did it. It started attacking the person that was driving. What? You didn't see that at all? No, I didn't see that. Hold on, I'm going to try to find that for you. Send that through. I saw it. Tic-tac. Deer attacks.

00:06:17 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 5:

I have had venison before. That's pretty straight.

00:06:20 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 6:

Okay.

00:06:21 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

You don't have venison? Dang it. No, I have.

00:06:24 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 4:

You like deer. Here's an aggressive deer. This is an aggressive deer.

00:06:27 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 1:

call that this buck was attacking vehicles. So the sheriff came up, and he started, I guess the buck started attacking the sheriff's pickup. No.

00:06:41 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 4:

Like attacking, that's a different story. I don't know what that story is. Do you guys know my, okay. Rachel! It's from a TV show.

00:06:54 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 6:

Okay, I was going to say, that sounds so cool.

00:06:56 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 4:

Produced. Watch this thing Watch this deer

00:07:00 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 3:

Don't stop Don't stop Go, drive, drive

00:07:07 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 4:

00:07:21 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 5:

This is crazy No, this is real

00:07:24 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 4:

This is real life Oh, my God. Oh, this is not real, bro. Look at the deer.

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

Get down.

00:07:37 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 4:

You like these animals?

00:07:43 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 6:

Okay. There they go. I have never told you my thing with deer, why I love deer so much. First off, I think they're beautiful.

00:07:49 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 2:

What happened?

00:07:49 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 6:

And I know I'm crazy anyway, and this is going to make me sound even crazier, but everybody has their thing when somebody dies when my grandma when my grandma grace died when i was in high school it was always a thing that when i missed her or i was doing something that i was like seeking prayer for or needed like a little bit of you know a push to deer always showed up as and so it deer have always been assigned to me that my grandma is with me so that then on saturday i was like you almost hit grandma wait what what if it really is a thing i'm not joking when wes and I went on our first date. We went on a walk and a deer just randomly showed up in the past. Stuff like that that I get chills and I'm like, oh, it's my grandma giving me a sign.

00:08:30 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 4:

So grandma just cost Wes how much money on the sign? A mirror. A mirror on the side of that car? Grandma. Victoria, what's going on? Hi. Hi, Victoria.

00:08:41 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 2:

Hey, how are you? I'm doing okay.

00:08:43 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 4:

I just found out that deer are not in Detroit. Isn't that the greatest story ever?

00:08:48 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 2:

I know. So I just wanted to follow up with calves like you'll see a stray dog and nothing but hood pigeons it's an official bird pigeons are terrifying and they're not moving out of your way no they don't care i was sitting on

00:09:04 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 6:

the bench waiting for the cue and this bird started walking at me and it looked like it

00:09:08 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 3:

was gonna like flex at me it was like get on my way it was so scary hold on a second So I'm going to walk hand-in-hand with you.

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 4:

Tyra says Cab's full of crap. What's that, Tyra?

00:09:20 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

Yes. I love you, Cab. But I don't know what part of Detroit you stay in, but I can name many areas. And I'm 53 years old. I've been living here my whole life. And I just looked out my window right off the 7 Mile in Livernois. No way. And so I was just walking down my street. 7 Mile in Livernois?

00:09:41 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 5:

Yes, sir.

00:09:42 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 3:

Livernois. Livernois. Noi, bro. Now we're going to ask.

00:09:45 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 5:

Listen, no, look, my family right there by Old Greater Grace were Sheeran and Preach on Seven and Shafer. There is no way. I've never seen gear over there.

00:09:56 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that is amazing. I'm going to tell you what. If I find...

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 6:

Find a picture from when I... And if there's anybody else listening, I implore you to please... Here, hold on.

00:10:06 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 7:

No, no, no. Is it Donnell?

00:10:11 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 6:

Donnell.

00:10:12 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 7:

Donnell. Okay. Donnell, meet Tyra. Oh, she hung up the phone.

00:10:17 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 6:

Yes. Good morning, everyone. I am a regular listener. And I want to say she is absolutely all right. I've lived in the city of Detroit all my life. There are deer where I live, where my mom and my husband are buried. I see deer all the time whenever I visit. Just recently, one of my neighbors posted a deer just running down the street. That's crazy. There are deer all over the city of Detroit, Kev. And especially over, well, that's because you're not looking.

00:10:56 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 7:

Listen.

00:10:57 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 6:

But for sure, there are deer in the city.

00:11:01 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 7:

Somebody told me that the deer are starting to move to Detroit because they're hearing about the rebuild and how great this city is. And they're voting for Kamala, too. This is true. I heard that story.

00:11:19 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 5:

The deer are voting.

00:11:21 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 7:

I heard that. The deer are voting. But if you vote for Donald Trump, he'll get rid of all the deer in Detroit for you.

00:11:28 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

Unless you can put him in a McDonald's sandwich.

00:11:31 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 7:

Well, there you go. Then he'll be okay. The deer had the biggest penis I've ever seen.

00:11:36 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 4:

The venison big bat.

00:11:37 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

What's going on, Shelly? What's happening?

00:11:41 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 6:

Hey. Hi. Yeah, so like Roosh Park area and Brightmoor, they're big over there.

00:11:48 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 7:

They're there. You know what the problem is? Kev's been staying in West Bloomfield now for the last couple of years.

00:11:55 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 4:

Listen, I haven't been to every neighborhood in Detroit, but Finkel and Schaefer, Grand River and Griggs, Seven Mile and Schaefer, I've never seen deer in them. They're there.

00:12:04 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 6:

Because there's no trees over there. That's what I'm saying. That's what they do.

00:12:09 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 7:

You wait. By the way, the new station.

00:12:12 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 6:

I even saw a coyote the other day.

00:12:13 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 7:

Did you? The new station mascot when we moved to Eastern Market is going to be.

00:12:18 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 6:

There you go.

00:12:19 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 7:

There you go. It's going to be a stray dog and a deer. That's what it's going to be. Hold on a second. Hold on.

00:12:25 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 1:

Might not call us. Can't believe he called me a psycho. Were you in there just now? You are a psycho. Good God.

00:12:31 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 7:

This is from Tommy Boy.

00:12:32 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 1:

I love Tommy Boy.

00:12:33 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 3:

I would say you did much better. I thought you were so cool. This is one of the deer attacks him. Watch and learn, he says. Well, I was watching. You know what I saw?

00:12:48 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 7:

There's a deer in the backseat.

00:12:50 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 8:

God, I haven't seen this movie in forever. Tommy Boy is a top 20 movie of all time.

00:13:00 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 7:

This is going to be Kev and I. Driving straight. Hey, Kev, you want to go get some pizza? Let's go get some pizza. I'll drive. There'll be a deer in the back of our car. First in peace to legend. Oh, that's such a great movie. All right, Mojo in the Morning. I feel bad for Wes, by the way. is he gonna take it over to

00:13:23 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 8:

I don't know get his car fixed I mean thank god that like we're okay in the yeah right

00:13:28 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 7:

you know why people put those on the front of pickup trucks those big old roll bars and things like that on there because those are ways to get rid of deer those are you hope that they hit the front of your vehicle well I felt so bad about the deer

00:13:40 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 8:

and then like maybe a half mile down the road there was a guy like on his John Deere tractor and he was just dragging a deer with a piece of rope I'm like Jesus oh lord

00:13:48 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 7:

yeah Hold on. A Detroit fireman is on with us right now. Billy, are you there?

00:13:54 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm here. You work with Chief Harris? Chief Harris? He's around, but he's not my chief at the moment.

00:14:02 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 7:

He's my buddy. I love him. What's going on? You're a Detroit firefighter? You want to say something to Kevin?

00:14:07 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 5:

Yes, sir. Yeah, no, Kevin, I'm going to have to not agree with you, man. There's plenty of deer in Detroit. I see them all the time outside the firehouse, even by Livernois, John R, Seven Mile. It's a bunch of seven-mile beers. Let me ask you a question.

00:14:22 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 7:

Do you see a lot of deer versus car accidents?

00:14:26 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 5:

That's the thing. Like, I think Detroit deer are smarter than the up north deer. They don't hit cars.

00:14:32 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 7:

They just hang out at the party stores, don't they?

00:14:35 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 2:

Yep.

00:14:37 - 00:14:40 | Speaker 7:

All right. Well, thank you for the call, buddy. I appreciate you.
