00:02:53 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 5:

Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning. show happy early thanksgiving i know today is going to be a really crazy travel day i was just uh listening to what was going on in our local news here today and they had like the proverbial uh news anchor sitting out at the airport and man the video that i saw was a lot of people there that early in the morning on a tuesday i think people for some reason feel like If you get out on Tuesday, it's better than the Wednesday travel, which typically tomorrow is the busiest travel day of the year. So that is kind of the norm usually. And it's kind of gotten back to it looks like domestic travel being norm. So if you're heading out to the airport today, I'll go screw yourselves. You guys are probably going somewhere nice. But I hope you enjoy your family. I hope everything's good. And bring us on the iHeartRadio app. It would be good to see you. I'm happy that I'm just staying in town. I'm very excited about that.

00:04:20 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 4:

Everybody's staying in town. Anybody going to be traveling at all? Anybody got anything going on here?

00:04:27 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 5:

I think we're all kind of like, is anybody actually driving anywhere?

00:04:31 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 4:

Just to the bar.

00:04:32 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 5:

Is that it? I'm happy. I got a couple of people coming in. I actually have one airport pickup. So I do have an airport pickup for Joe coming in from Florida. That is tomorrow. And then Jacob's driving in today. I was so excited about that from Chicago.

00:04:52 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

Excited to see him or excited you want to pick him up at the airport?

00:04:55 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

A little bit of both. A little bit of both. Actually, to be honest,

00:05:00 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 3:

with you i used to love when uh when jacob pre you know him having a car uh in chicago he used to have to take the amtrak home and i used to love picking him up because there was something that said the holidays there was something that said the family stone when you're picking them up at the bus station or at the train station that's so funny you say that my sister emily

00:05:24 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 2:

used to live in chicago and she would take the train as well and it's the same thing i would

00:05:28 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 3:

pick them up in Ann Arbor, and then there was this little, there's this, I don't even know what it's called, it's like a pub. It's a famous pub right across the street.

00:05:36 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 1:

The Fancy Dancer? Gandy Dancer. Yeah, Gandy Dancer.

00:05:39 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

It's like in an old train, right? Isn't it?

00:05:41 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 3:

And I would go, I would go there, and I would have a drink or two, and then Jacob would be driving us home from, but it was kind of fun. There was something like holiday related to that whole thing. Going to the airport sucks. I hate sitting in the cell phone lot. So I get there. I usually do get there pretty early because I know that it's with my luck I'll get stuck in some of that horrible construction that's on the highways these days. So I'll sit in that cell phone lot, and I'll get there, and I'm there so long that my car auto stops. If you have a Chevy Tahoe, you know what I'm talking about, or any kind of General Motors product, it gives you the countdown to you've been in the car too long with it running, and we know we're going to shut it down because it's not good. And so that's how long I'll sit in that thing. And it's just, I wish that they had, I wish we had like a drive-in movie theater at Detroit Metro Airport, like where you can go there and you sit back and you kind of like watch TV or watch whatever, like had screens.

00:06:40 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

I think you're onto something there.

00:06:41 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 3:

Or screens that showed you like when they're landing too would be cool. You know what you need right there is a Chick-fil-A because you're already in line.

00:06:48 - 00:06:49 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:06:49 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 2:

Okay. You have to wait in line anyway to get up to the front where you can actually pick people up. so why not be in line to get something at the end?

00:06:56 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 3:

Now you're talking.

00:06:58 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 2:

Right?

00:06:58 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 3:

Now you've got an idea. Could you imagine that?

00:07:00 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 2:

Get a little peppermint chip milkshake or whatever they've got right now.

00:07:05 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 3:

I don't know the airports.

00:07:06 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 2:

Some nuggies.

00:07:07 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

I don't know the airport area very well, but there have been times where I got there early enough where I'm like, oh, maybe I'll go to a Starbucks or McDonald's, and then I just don't know how close I am to it. Because you ever drive around the neighborhoods around there, like where the rental car place is and stuff?

00:07:23 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 1:

There's not a lot around there.

00:07:24 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 3:

I just don't know. I wish that they had, I don't know. Somebody open up a business right by the airport there. I don't know why you'd want to, but what the heck.

00:07:32 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 2:

I think the landing strip is right there.

00:07:34 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 3:

That's right. And for those that don't know what the landing strip is, Shannon, will you explain? It is a general club. A little entertainment. And by the way, what a great name for a strip club next to the airport. The landing strip. Could you imagine? That would be the most amazing thing. I'm going to pick up my family coming in for Thanksgiving, and they're like, where's dad?

00:08:01 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 2:

I bet that happens more often than you think.

00:08:04 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

Think so? Yeah. You could still just be like, I'm at the landing trip. Where were you? Mike, smart idea there. That's a good one. I could only imagine the reaction of Chelsea if she's like, you were where? I was donating to those during the holidays, the strippers who just want to earn a dollar or two. Yesterday, we had our potluck here at the radio station. It's our Thanksgiving potluck. Everybody either made food or brought food.

00:08:43 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

I have no self-control. I ate like six desserts.

00:08:47 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 3:

Did you?

00:08:47 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just can't. Desserts look good. I put it in front of me because they're all homemade, too, except for KP's pumpkin pie. But I love a Costco pumpkin pie, too.

00:08:58 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

It's calling you out, KP. No, it's good. KP and I actually bought food to bring. We didn't bring food. But you know why?

00:09:06 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

I forgot my pie, so I had to turn it back around and go home and get it in the morning.

00:09:09 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 3:

Remember, he woke up at 4 a.m. to make his. Which, by the way, it looked delicious.

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 2:

It was delicious.

00:09:15 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 1:

But don't discount the piece. Yours was so good. You know, you have to know your strengths. If you don't, like, Hassan in our sales department knows he can't cook. He brought the ice. You have to have ice at every party. He really did. Yeah. But you know what? We need ice.

00:09:30 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 3:

You know what? That's interesting. Call us up at 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Sign that you're a bad cook. Tell us what it is that you're required to bring to your Thanksgiving dinner. Because anybody that, like Hassan, brings the ice or the pop, you know, they're the ones. The rolls.

00:09:51 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Can I tell you something? I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year for my entire family, for Wes, his kids, my mom's boyfriend, his family. I'm...

00:10:00 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 4:

having everybody over my house my family knows I can't cook to save my life so my sister very nicely was like so we think that everybody should bring something I said yes that would help me out a lot and she's like are you ordering like food from anywhere too I said yes Jacqueline I got the turkey from Whole Foods and she goes oh okay good so when they make sure that your food is coming

00:10:24 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 1:

not from you you also know you're the bad cook well and get this straight I only brought the casserole dish that i made my little specialty because it's thanksgiving if this was any other potluck i would have been the guy bringing the rolls or the ice right right because i don't cook so if it was an easter brunch forget it i don't have anything to offer you but it was thanksgiving i'm like oh oh the one thing i can make i'm gonna get i'm gonna make sure i make it the sweet potato what was it potato and apple uh oh it was so good but like i don't know how to make anything for Christmas or a summer barbecue, I'm out. I'll bring the beer. I'm the beer guy.

00:10:59 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 4:

Did any of you guys have the banana cream pudding?

00:11:02 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 3:

No, but I heard about it. I heard about that. There was actually a big shocker of who made it.

00:11:09 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 4:

So I had to, well, I made Colleen get up and ask, Colleen is our new boss, whose dish that was because I want the recipe so bad to cook, God willing, for Thursday for my family, and nobody would admit to it. And I'm like, but we're asking because it's so, so incredibly good. And finally, Lester, who has been in our promotions department for I don't even know how long, 30 years or something crazy, right? He just celebrated. He very shyly raised his hand, and he was like, it was me.

00:11:43 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 3:

Lester. Is that unbelievable?

00:11:45 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 4:

Lester, his daughter found the recipe on TikTok. And so I got the story And so he followed it step by step With his daughter also on FaceTime And I said, Les, this is by far the best thing here Like everything was good But this was the hit So last night, I said, can I please have the recipe Last night at 9.30 I get a text message from an unknown number And it was his daughter texting me The video

00:12:10 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's cute

00:12:11 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 4:

Of how to make it

00:12:13 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 3:

We should post that up on our social It is so good Lester was the head at the potluck, the office potluck yesterday. That was so awesome. Mojo in the morning. Marissa, the sign that you're not a great cook, what are you bringing to Thanksgiving dinner?

00:12:32 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 2:

I got to bring the cans of corn.

00:12:36 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man.

00:12:37 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 2:

That's another one.

00:12:38 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

They don't even want you to make anything with it, huh?

00:12:39 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 2:

Not a great cook, Marissa? No, just bring it, and they'll make it when I get there.

00:12:47 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 3:

Isn't that wonderful? Does that insult you at all when they say that to you, or does it make you go, okay, yeah, I get it?

00:12:54 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 2:

No, it's been like this for a while. I just bring it, and then they just do it for me, and it's good to go.

00:13:03 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. It's cold.

00:13:05 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 4:

I like the texter who says that they're the rolls person.

00:13:19 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 3:

313 says, the rolls, just the rolls.

00:13:22 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 1:

You were asked to bring the rolls? You are not a good cook.

00:13:27 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 3:

How about this one? The person that door dashes, that actually will go and door dash whatever food item it is. You better hope that whatever is open is open, right, when that happens? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. What is it that you bring to the party? I like the wine people. The wine people are the good ones.

00:13:49 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 4:

I love when people ask me to bring it, too.

00:13:53 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I'm down. We know you like wine.

00:13:55 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 4:

I know wine. And we know you know wine. Yeah. I'm more than happy to drink it all, everything that I bring.

00:14:01 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:14:01 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 4:

And then I don't feel bad.

00:14:02 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Just bring a bunch of that. Oh, my God. This is the napkins.

00:14:11 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 4:

They don't even trust you to go to the store at that point and pick out something edible.

00:14:18 - 00:14:49 | Speaker 3:

You got to go get the napkins. Oh, my God. I don't know why I am so excited for this Thanksgiving. I actually was thinking about this, and I don't know your guys' thoughts, but they're talking about how people are not going to do thanksgiving this year because of the economy and i thought to myself if you're going to give up a holiday what holiday is the holiday to give up because i think thanksgiving is better than christmas no well i love thanksgiving oh my god

00:14:49 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 4:

easter easter i know as a as a believer easter's the biggie but i'm saying like the having people

00:14:56 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 1:

over and stuff having to wear a suit all day i could do without easter

00:15:00 - 00:15:01 | Speaker 9:

New Year's Eve, bye.

00:15:00 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 1:

Thank you.

00:15:01 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 7:

Valentine's Day. Oh, Valentine's Day, definitely. Valentine's Day is sweetest day. Yucko. But we're also married guys, right? Saying that. Megan, what holiday are you giving up? If you had to give up one holiday.

00:15:18 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 8:

This feels bad, but probably like the 4th of July. Oh, I love 4th of July. I love a good barbecue. Yeah, but you can barbecue literally any day in the summer. and all of the 4th of July is fireworks, and I don't really like fireworks.

00:15:33 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 4:

Fireworks and drunk drivers.

00:15:34 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 8:

Exactly. Even Easter, though. Easter is a good breakfast holiday. I love a good breakfast holiday.

00:15:40 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 7:

That's true. Yeah. What's going on, Stephen?

00:15:44 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Good morning, everyone.

00:15:46 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 7:

Good morning, Stephen. What is it that you're required to bring to the Thanksgiving meal?

00:15:52 - 00:15:55 | Speaker 3:

Desserts. And it's always going to be store-bought desserts that day.

00:15:55 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 7:

Really? What do you end up getting? Yeah. Let me ask you. question because this was a big thing on tiktok pecan or pecan what how do you pronounce it pecan pecan i like it i say i say pecan pie but but there's a lot more people now saying it's pecan pecan pie uh what's going on casey how you doing good how are you good you know that you're the bad cook when you're asked to bring what to Thanksgiving?

00:16:25 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 3:

The veggie tray.

00:16:28 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 9:

Now, that's very important though. I'm telling you. The ratio of vegetables. Who likes raw cauliflower? That's like the honeydew melon of the vegetable tray. I like it. You guys.

00:16:41 - 00:16:42 | Speaker 7:

Megan and I like it.

00:16:42 - 00:16:42 | Speaker 9:

Like radishes.

00:16:43 - 00:16:52 | Speaker 7:

We only like it if we're dipping it into that ranchy dill sauce or whatever that thing is. All the veggies are just a vessel. You eat it plain?

00:16:52 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 8:

I eat raw cauliflower plain all the time.

00:16:55 - 00:16:55 | Speaker 7:

Who are you?

00:16:56 - 00:17:00 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. It's like broccoli, but good. No. Now I'm turning on you.

00:17:00 - 00:17:01 | Speaker 9:

They're both just do not even compare those two.

00:17:01 - 00:17:06 | Speaker 8:

But they're like the same texture. I'm a texture person, and they're like the same texture. It's so good.

00:17:07 - 00:17:16 | Speaker 7:

Casey, who are you celebrating Thanksgiving with this year? Casey? Yeah. Hi. Who are you celebrating Thanksgiving with this year?

00:17:17 - 00:17:18 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my family.

00:17:18 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 7:

Nice. Just mom, dad, everybody like that?

00:17:21 - 00:17:22 | Speaker 4:

I have six brothers and sisters.

00:17:22 - 00:17:23 | Speaker 7:

Oh, that's sweet.

00:17:23 - 00:17:34 | Speaker 4:

Who's the one that's going to start the fight at the dinner table? Your brother, isn't it? I knew it's him. There's a couple of us, yeah. There's a couple of us. He said us. Us.

00:17:36 - 00:17:41 | Speaker 7:

I think the most genius person might be on the phone line with us right now. Ashley, tell everybody what you do.

00:17:42 - 00:17:51 | Speaker 3:

I pretend not to be a good cook so that I don't have to make anything, and I don't bring any dirty dishes home with me, so I just bring, like, napkins or plates or whatever.

00:17:51 - 00:18:04 | Speaker 7:

Are you not the smartest person in the room? That's the greatest thing ever. Yeah. So what are you bringing then for Thursday? Oh, no. She was scared if you were going to ask her to do that.

00:18:06 - 00:18:21 | Speaker 6:
