This is the Bishop Statement. At Bishop State Community College, we want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:02:03 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 1:

Alan Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting and design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be, and I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department, and I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.

All right, Mojo on the Morning Show. Phone number is 844-MOJO-LIVE. Text 955-00. Can you call somebody out or can you say to something to somebody if you notice something different about their look? What happened?

00:03:12 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 7:

And I'm going to say right off the bat, I will not and I would not. But I have a friend who does not live here, which is why I can do this topic. But I have not. I haven't caught up with her in quite some time. And she sent me a message on Instagram yesterday. And, of course, when somebody sends you a message that you haven't chatted with in a while or I she's just not somebody like her story doesn't appear in the front of my line or you know what I'm talking about. Right. And so I want I went to her profile to see like what she was up to and then checked out her story. And when I went to look at her story, I honest to God did not recognize her because she had humongous lips. some sort of filler in her cheeks for sure a nose job her hair color changed a little bit i was in the school pickup line to grab smith and loose and i screamed in my car i mean she looks so so different and she was so pretty and by the way i am all for i mean i've gotten botox i you know i've i've done things but this is like very very very drastic where she doesn't even look like the same person.

00:04:22 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 8:

Yeah.

00:04:23 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 7:

And not good. Yeah. Not good.

00:04:25 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 8:

So don't you think...

00:04:27 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 7:

I would never say anything to her. Yep.

00:04:29 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 8:

Don't you think somebody should say something to her?

00:04:32 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 7:

I am not close enough friends with her to say something.

00:04:34 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 6:

Really? I don't think you can ever be close enough to somebody to say something because they are choosing how their face looks and what they prefer, and you cannot step in and say you've made a bad choice, you look bad.

00:04:46 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 9:

I think you can say something. No. Depending upon how they receive it, that's one thing. But I think in any regard, if you love someone and you see an area that you want to speak on, I feel like if the relationship allows for that, you do.

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

I'm going to show Megan a picture of... Yeah, I do.

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 5:

Her story expired, so I can't show you the story, but she hasn't posted it in a while. But look how pretty she was. Let me see her. Gorgeous. Was. I want you to see it like, damn.

00:05:09 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 7:

Yes, beautiful. Now would you look? Give me today's. I can't, because her story expired.

00:05:14 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 4:

But if you love somebody, Kev, you don't tell them, I find your face unappealing by your own choices.

00:05:19 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 7:

No, so if you see somebody, and these are two totally different things. If you see somebody that has, and they're drinking a lot, and it's getting bad, do you say something?

00:05:27 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 4:

That is a totally different thing.

00:05:29 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 7:

So I view it as the same thing. If I see that there's an issue, that you're headed in a direction that I don't think is healthy for you, then I'm going to speak on it.

00:05:36 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 5:

But God, like aesthetics is a tough one. Like drinking, I am worried about you dying. I am worried about you having an issue. I am worried about your well-being. I'm worried about the people around you.

00:05:47 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 7:

But I mean, if it's like you were saying, if it's just a touch-up, then cool. But anytime that you're taking something to the extreme, I feel like I have to say something. If you're having a sip of wine, I'm not going to say something. If you have a little Botox, I'm not going to say something. if you're changing your whole face whole thing to me that's the same as like you drinking a lot

00:06:03 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

like you're at the extreme i disagree i i i can see where you're coming from but i think the effects are are so different on the people around you and and health and harming others versus if i've made myself my perfect vision and i feel the best i've ever felt and then you tell me that i

00:06:20 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 7:

look bad you're not a friend i'm not i don't know it doesn't have to be you look bad and i think just because the effects of what you're doing happens to whatever you're doing affects other people i think i'd take the same weight of that if the only person that affected is you but you

00:06:35 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 6:

don't bring this up unless it's bad speaking of weight i want you to call me out from now on if i gain more weight that's what i want you to call me out if it see something say something i'm you taking more shots than lebron you good oh my god what is wrong with the show today in the honesty My shots are going in. I'm done. Anna, what's going on? Hi.

00:06:58 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 3:

Hi. Good morning.

00:06:59 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 6:

What's going on, Anna? What do you think?

00:07:02 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 3:

I'm the friend who says something because I want people to tell me if there's something, you know, I look crazy.

00:07:11 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 6:

So if you saw your friend with blow-up lips and, you know, a face that doesn't move, what are you going to do?

00:07:18 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. I'm telling her.

00:07:19 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 6:

You're going to say, hey, what are you doing?

00:07:22 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to be like, you look like a fish. What are you doing? See, I couldn't.

00:07:26 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 6:

If it's somebody that is like really close with you, like your best, best, best friend, don't you think you would say something? No. No?

00:07:33 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 5:

So if, okay, if asked. So I had a girlfriend who recently got, if she's listening right now, she's dying. She got her eyebrows laminated and she did not go to the right person. It looked, it looked real bad. And she said, oh my God, I look like I have caterpillars on my head, my face. And I was like, let me give you my girl's name. Like, because she asked, she knew already that it was bad, but I would not have looked at her and been like, oh, my God, what did you do to your face?

00:08:00 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 6:

What about your sister, Jacqueline? Would you tell, say something to her?

00:08:03 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 5:

Jacqueline. And Jacqueline and I are real honest with each other. If I think if she asked me, I would. But I wouldn't just come right out and be like, really? Well, I don't know. No, maybe I would. I would.

00:08:15 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 6:

Christina, what's up?

00:08:16 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

hi i'm always going to tell you how i feel it's about character you have to know my character and if you can't receive my character maybe we shouldn't be friends because you have to know who your friend is and you have to know talking to you with grace and love i'm going to tell you it's about how you say things you know i love you maybe you could tell somebody what you love about them but maybe they didn't do that right do you think you know you should do this or you should doing that is ways to do it you got to speak in love and grace to come from a good place because if you're my friend you don't tell me you're questionable your character is questionable i want to know what i'm going to tell you and if i can't i'm not your yes friend are you would

00:08:55 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 6:

you be more pissed off if you if the uh you said something to the person like man i really didn't like what i did to my face and they're like yeah i was going to say something to you would you be

00:09:03 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 4:

upset that they waited yeah what kind of friends are you hanging out with though like i do not want a friend that wouldn't be like you're beautiful you're gorgeous whatever you want them to lie to you i don't want them to say but if she didn't ask for for my opinion right but like even even so i don't want this blunt honesty those are not the kind of people i want in my life i will tell you

00:09:29 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 5:

if i do though like if i said to you hey i just got my you know highlights in my hair what do you think and you're like i actually liked a better dark i honest to goodness would appreciate that you and i have that relationship right but if i came in and you were like what the f did you do

00:09:41 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 6:

to your hair right tom's got a good point very different tom what's your point okay so can they

00:09:47 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

reverse that like once it's done i mean do they do like an imaging first to show you i mean because it seems like everybody that does that all has that same look and i don't really like it yeah so I think girls are like, do

00:10:00 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 3:

Beautiful, natural.

00:10:01 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 6:

I've had lots of filler done. First of all, it goes away on its own eventually. Your body breaks it down. But they also have dissolvers. And I'm wondering, Shannon, how much of this was brand new work? Because when I get my lips done, they become that huge, duck, like crazy, insane, swelled look. And then two or three days later, they just look a little plumper than normal.

00:10:23 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 5:

Is that what this friend was doing? I don't know. Because I was going to say, why take a picture if that's the case? You're right, Megan, where it does go down originally. Some guys are like, you get fresh out the barbershop, you want to show it off. She could have got fresh out the face shop. What's up, A? Initial A, voice disguised.

00:10:38 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 1:

Yes, so I have a friend who had liposuction done, and when she had it done, they also did a little bit of liposuction down in her cat area. Well, after she had it done, her wife told her that she preferred her cat fat instead of like a barb.

00:10:53 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 5:

Meow. Wow, okay. Love it. She wanted her cat fat.

00:10:59 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:11:00 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 5:

You can get that done? Yeah. You can get it. Yes. Really? Wow. They pull up with a tummy tuck. Can guys do that too? I believe so. They can get their dog bigger? Oh, my good God. What's going on, Nicole? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning. Oh, I'm sorry, not Nicole, but Tiffany. I'll go to Nicole next. Hi. What's up, Tiffany?

00:11:26 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 8:

So I was one of the people that actually had something done. I had a breast reduction done, and I ran into a couple guys a couple years later, and they just stared at me and said, something's different, but we can't put our finger on it. And I sat there for a couple minutes, and they go, oh, your boobs are smaller, but they look okay.

00:11:43 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 5:

Wow, guys said that to you? They look okay.

00:11:45 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, a couple guys I went to school with.

00:11:48 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. Were you really close with these guys, like their brother guys?

00:11:51 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, I grew up with them, so they were like brothers, but it was still weird.

00:11:54 - 00:11:59 | Speaker 5:

Because I was going to say, for the guys just to randomly say that to you, they better be close to you otherwise.

00:11:59 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, I know they were.

00:12:01 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 5:

Misfit Nicole, what's up?

00:12:03 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 8:

Hi, Nicole. Hi, everybody.

00:12:05 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. Good morning.

00:12:07 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 5:

I know you're honest. You would say something, wouldn't you?

00:12:10 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 7:

No, I'm with Shannon. Shannon brought up a good point where she said relational capacity. Her and Megan have a relationship where they can say things to each other. Shannon says she hasn't seen this girl in a minute. you can't say something if you haven't seen the person in a while it depends on their relationship

00:12:26 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 6:

yeah and you know what nicole i love what shannon has said in the past it's can you fix it this moment so like it would be one thing if you came to me and said girl you blocked out your eyebrows like they are too sharpie nike swoosh right versus while you got which i would say yeah which i can change it right now versus i cannot get the filler out of my face this second yeah

00:12:48 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 7:

Exactly.

00:12:49 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 6:

But look, I'm tripping on the last caller talking about you can get your cat back.

00:12:53 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 7:

I want my cat back.

00:12:59 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 5:

We love you. You take care of yourself.

00:13:01 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 7:

Love you.

00:13:02 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 2:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:13:39 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 4:

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees. For me to be able to be accepted through FAFSA and to have Bishop State pay for all of my tuition, not only that, but the curriculums, you know, they make it so easy to understand on their website. Like I said, I'm a 40-year-old man, so I don't use technology too much, but it was very understandable where I needed to go. It was extremely fast. These past two years, things have just moved in a total different type of way. It's like its own moving entity to see things manifest the way that they do.

00:14:24 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 3:
