00:02:08 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 5:

It's criminal hour here on the Mojo in the Morning Show. But I have a cousin who's continuing a family tradition that I started working at the good old Subway. Eat fresh. I'm a sandwich artist, as they like to say in my business. What did I just see that Subway just bought?

00:02:23 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 4:

They bought somebody? Yeah, hold on a second. Hold on. Subway. It's on the Googles. Hold on. Subway. How did this make the dirty, Shannon? Purchase.

00:02:32 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 5:

I don't know.

00:02:32 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 4:

No, there was something big that I just saw. Because that was funny. Because I was thinking to myself, when's the last time?

00:02:36 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 5:

Dave's Hot Chicken. Dave's Hot Chicken. We just had the name. Dude, Dave's Hot Chicken is so good. It's fire. It's so good. Subway and Dave's Hot Chicken are now partners. Billion dollar deal. Wow. Wow.

00:02:46 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 4:

Crazy.

00:02:47 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 5:

All right, so what's the story? My cousin works at Subway. He came over because, you know, family going through stuff. He needed to talk and the whole thing. So that's that. So he comes over. He's coming over after work. He's like, hey, do you want me to bring you something? I'm like, yeah, for sure. Give me a nice little Italian urban cheese, a little tuna, toasted. You know, I have to give him my little order or whatever like that. He brings over the sandwich. We sit down. Not only does he bring me a sandwich, though, he comes in with chips.

00:03:11 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 3:

And a cookie?

00:03:12 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 5:

And a cookie. You know, three cookies, a chocolate chip. But I'm like, bro, I didn't ask you to get all this. He's like, don't worry about it, man. It's free. I'm like, what you mean it's free? He's like, I just took it from work. like when you say you took it from work like you pay for it's like i don't pay for snacks i don't pay for chips and cookies when i come back from subway i take them so you telling me you stole these i do it all the time the perks of the job and you know from working there that's not a perk of the job it's not a perk when i used to work at subway and think this is like you know i'm a little bit removed from my time here the only thing you could get was a six inch that was your like extra outside of your paycheck you can take a six inch home make it however you want

00:03:53 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 4:

though so you can load that's the only benefit that you got that's all you got a free soap

00:03:57 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 5:

okay all right that's sweet i got a footlong yeah i got legs i thought you said something else

00:04:03 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 4:

i thought you said that i was like oh my god i take a footlong eat shit

00:04:09 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 5:

okay okay cookies and cookies and it was not part of the deal not part of the deal but he He stole it from work, and he's saying this is what he does. This isn't the first time that he's done this. Did you get the cookies? Yeah, I ate them, and they taste good. They taste better when they freeze.

00:04:23 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 4:

They taste just cookies and chips.

00:04:24 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 5:

Tell that to the owners.

00:04:25 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 4:

I don't know, you know. Listen, I mean, not that I'm condoning, because it will sound like I steal from the radio station, but if you're taking, like, one little thing, is it really going to hurt somebody? You know what I mean?

00:04:37 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 5:

I think stealing is stealing.

00:04:38 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

Have you ever had a job where you stole from? Oh, absolutely. Any food, any food. Absolutely. The best was, I told you guys that I used to work as a, the back, I was the bus boy, the dishwasher, everything. At the strip club. No, no, no, you guys, that was my job at the Plush Horse, which was an ice cream place.

00:05:00 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 5:

you guys think it's a strip club i worked at a place called hackney's which was a family restaurant in chicago and when i worked there i worked for my sister she was the actual manager of the restaurant and um i did all the stuff in the back and i remember we took home a big old thing of potato skins to bring home and cook at home but it was like but it was like the package that was packaged up and you know how they have the semi truck that comes and delivers and we took them home and my sister came home and goes that's supposed to be in our restaurant i got in so much trouble she really oh she she had the owner dock my pay and everything for a big old thing i didn't even think i made enough money in a week to pay for one bag of potato skins negative but i don't know i think people steal from their jobs all the time i'd love to know what listeners steal 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 i used to work at a mall when i was in college and i went to school

00:05:55 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 1:

in Indianapolis I used to work at like the the nice small there it was called Keystone at the Crossing the fashion mall and the store that I worked for was right across from Abercrombie and there was this guy who worked at Abercrombie his name was Andre and he loved coming in because we sold candy at the store that I worked at and so he would come by candy and he'd always be like oh you ever you like Abercrombie yeah I wear the perfume I like the clothes and every once in a while he would come just hand me an Abercrombie shopping bag and it would always have like the perfume and a couple of shirts or something in it and i'd be like oh my god thank you so much that i come to find out he was stealing all of it he wasn't even using

00:06:33 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 5:

his company discount he was no oh i mean and this went on for like a year or two andre dropping bags off i mean i was fully decked and stolen abercrombie unbeknownst to me think about how much ass the abercrombie guy could get though if you're giving girls all that well he only wanted

00:06:50 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 1:

He was into guys, not girls.

00:06:53 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 5:

Well, he could have ass, too. It's just a different kind of ass. J-Bo, what's up, J-Bo?

00:06:58 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, it's Day-Bo. I'm a first-time caller. Oh, sorry, Day-Bo.

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 5:

What's up, Day-Bo?

00:07:03 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 2:

Day-Bo on the phone. Hey. Now, listen, I'm going to narc at first. I only narc for kids, though. I can't narc my guy, Mom. Like, this is crazy. She's going on 30 years at the hospital.

00:07:16 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:17 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 2:

So you can just imagine how many towels and tissues and soaps and paper towels. Just everything that you can think that you go in a doctor's office and take out of there, closet full. Really?

00:07:30 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 5:

So she takes supplies and things home, huh? Any big machinery? Like, has she ever taken home? Like, I don't know.

00:07:37 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 2:

Clear. Oh, no, no, no, no, no narcing. No narcing for mom. He's not going to tell.

00:07:44 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Yeah, you're the only Daybo probably that has her work in it. Elise, what's up? Hi.

00:07:52 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

Hey, guys. Good morning. Good morning. I used to work at Starbucks, and in my first, like, week of training, they tell you all the things. They hook you up with somebody that you might, you know, just get along with. And this girl tells me how much she loves that she gets to take home all the drinks. You can make as many drinks as you want on the ship. And, of course, I'm like, cha-ching, this is going to be amazing because I love coffee. Well, the, like, first official day that I worked by myself, I was making all my own drinks, and I took, like, my own drink home, plus I made a couple for my roommates, and the next day my boss got on to me and I got in trouble.

00:08:25 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no.

00:08:25 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 3:

But I thought this was okay, and he's like, nope, this is not okay. So I got in trouble, but I didn't snitch on her. You got trained by the thief.

00:08:33 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 5:

Did you tell on her? Did you say that's how you were trained?

00:08:38 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

Nope. My brothers taught me snitches get stitches, so I just nipped my lip. You're good.

00:08:43 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 5:

That's awesome. If I worked at Starbucks, man, I'd be taking everything. I love that place. What's up, Ashley? Hi.

00:08:50 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

Hi. So we have a bunch of tobacco shops in Michigan here, and one of my employees had messaged me, and they said a customer came back in to return a Kratom shot, which is kind of like an Adderall type of shot. Yeah. Okay. And so they were like, you know, something's funny about this kratom shot. Come to find out, one of the employees were taking them and filling them with A1 steak sauce. What? Wait. Yeah.

00:09:21 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 5:

Oh, God. So they were, and how much A1 steak sauce can you get in those things?

00:09:28 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

Well, it's a little shot, you know, just a little single shot. And so they had taken, like, three or four of them and replaced them. So once, you know, they kind of, like, very sneakily opened the, you know, the wrapper underneath the lid to make it look like it was just cold. Oh, yeah. So no one was going to do it. Wow. And, you know, the customer walked out. He's like, you know, something's really funny about this, you know, and came back. And my employee was like, you can't mistake it. It smells just like steak sauce. I was going to say.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 5:

say. You know that smell and that taste.

00:10:02 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 1:

So what are they doing? Are they doing it just to mess with the... I don't get it. I don't get... Why would you just...

00:10:07 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 5:

They're probably taking it and then just replacing

00:10:10 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

it. Oh, that's what it is. Okay. Alright, I'm like going, why? Why are they doing this? Would you want to go and find out what somebody that worked at Williams-Sonoma was stealing? Kevin, are you

00:10:22 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 5:

there? Were you making all the food? Yes.

00:10:24 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 1:

Yes, I am. What were you stealing at Williams-Sonoma? Please tell me it was like an air fryer.

00:10:29 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

Well, clearly I don't work there anymore. But I used to work next to the marketing department, and they would get all type of companies that would want to sell their products on there. So I stole, like, Lecrae Pot, like an $80 fork. I'm not going to get mad at me at this. I was still in all type of things. They had chocolate, stuff like that. And then down the hall was West Elm, so they always had, like, towels and stuff. So I would just do whatever the marketing team didn't take.

00:10:57 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 1:

It's unreal. if you still work there is there any way that you can get me one of those mix master mixers

00:11:03 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 2:

it's like 500 if you do come to san francisco and you work there here's a little trick just say you work at williams and sonoma and they give you a 20 discount on all the restaurants

00:11:14 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 1:

around there but you didn't do that for me that's awesome i like that uh i by the way for some reason that's one of the stores in the mall that i'll still walk into and just go i want a spatula Like, I don't know what it is. I don't even go. But they got good stuff there.

00:11:27 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 5:

And sometimes they're cooking in there, and it smells so good.

00:11:30 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. The manager of an Applebee's stole $50,000 worth of stuff. Is that right, Laura?

00:11:39 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 4:

Yes, that's right. So years ago, I was a waitress at Applebee's in my hometown. And the manager that had worked there had been there for years and years. And when I was working there, she was always comping herself food. Like she was eating on the job, I swear, from open to close. And eventually she racked up like 50 to 60 grand in stolen food. And not only did she get fired, but she went to jail for 90 days. Oh, my God.

00:12:09 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 1:

$50,000 worth of stuff.

00:12:11 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 5:

That has to be years. But she said she worked there forever and ever.

00:12:14 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 1:

So that's over years. But you should go to jail for $50,000. Like that's not, you know.

00:12:19 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 5:

Are you allowed to get a meal if you work there for free or no?

00:12:23 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 1:

I mean, I think that every restaurant kind of gives you at least something, right? Some only give discounts. Mm-hmm. Really? Oh, my God. What do you think somebody would steal from a veterinary hospital? Lily, are you there?

00:12:36 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:12:36 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

Hi, we're talking about stealing from your job. What did you hear?

00:12:41 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 5:

So I work at a vet, and we've all kind of taken, you know, some stuff home to work on our own animals. So we've taken some lube to do their anal glands at home, nail clippers, vaccines.

00:12:56 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. Are you taking the lube for your own anal glands or for the dog's anal glands?

00:13:04 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 5:

Dogs. Sure. There was a pause here.

00:13:06 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 1:

Could you use the dog anal gland lube for your own lube if you wanted to?

00:13:13 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 4:

I mean, it's just regular lube, so, like, sure.

00:13:16 - 00:13:17 | Unknown:

Top dog.

00:13:17 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 1:

I can't condone this. I can't condone this. Did you guys ever steal anything big, like medication at all? Because somebody told me one time of a person that worked at a vet hospital that was taking dog medicine, that he was so addicted to drugs he would take the dog's medicine.

00:13:34 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 5:

That's really sad.

00:13:35 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:13:36 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I'm sure it does happen.

00:13:38 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 1:

That's craziness. Wow. Baby Leg Jay, real quick, I'm sorry. What's up, Jay? A Baby Leg Jay was stealing... Hey, hey, hey. What were you stealing, Baby Leg Jay?

00:13:50 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 3:

Whole beef briskets, whole corned beef briskets, whole sirloins. We would have a whole shindig.

00:14:00 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 1:

Where were you working, Baby Leg Jay, that you were...

00:14:05 - 00:14:10 | Speaker 3:

Milestone Bar and Grill out to East Point. Shot him right out.

00:14:11 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't care. You would take home beef briskets and stuff, huh?

00:14:17 - 00:14:28 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. A whole one is still in the pack. I was straight out the freezer. They had to know that that stuff was missing. He even got lucky enough to get a whole liter of Hennessy afterwards. Oh, my God.

00:14:28 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 1:

Oh, you had a tar. Wait, hold on, hold on. You're not the only one stealing briskets. Amy's on there with us. Amy, say hi to Baby Leg Jay, one of the Mojo on the Morning Misfits.

00:14:38 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Baby Leg Jay.

00:14:40 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 3:

Hey. What up, though? How you doing?

00:14:42 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 1:

Amy, you had a co-worker that would steal briskets, and how would they get away with them?

00:14:49 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 4:

They would tape them to their, like, body, like, under their uniform. But the killing part about it was the way she got caught, she was leaving and had...

00:15:00 - 00:15:07 | Speaker 6:

She had some type of medical emergency, and when the EMTs came to assist her, they found them on her.

00:15:07 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no. So wait, so she taped, I guess, so tight that she passed out, and the EMTs found, brisket taped to her body?

00:15:18 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 2:

She was, yes, she had them taped, like, secured under her shirt, and passed out on her way

00:15:26 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 6:

to her car. Oh, no, you weren't doing it like that.

00:15:27 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 5:

Baby Lake Jay was just carrying him like a football.

00:15:32 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 6:

Right in his pants. Oh, that's right. I sure would. We would take the trash out, so we had empty boxes, so we'd throw them in a box and take them out.

00:15:39 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's so sneaky.

00:15:41 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 5:

I'm not killing myself for a brisket.

00:15:43 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 2:
