Wow, wow, wow. I am ready for Thanksgiving. You guys ready?

Do you guys prepare by eating less or doing anything like we're like the last like this has been like the weirdest thing. We had a friend's giving the, you know, the other night. And then last night I decided I wasn't going to eat dinner because I kind of ate a later lunch. And for some reason, I got this feeling that I'm preparing myself for Thursday where I'm going to eat my face off.

You know, it's weird because we think let's stop eating. But really what we're doing is shrinking our stomach and making it harder. Pretty much.

Yeah. It still doesn't make a difference to me how or how hard I plan. I still just like could go to town. Oh, yeah.

Although I will say this. You said something before the show today that we need to bring up on the air.

What?

You commit the mortal sin or want to commit the mortal sin of mortal sins on Thanksgiving.

Oh, about the timing?

Yes.

Well, it's it's I feel like this is a debate in every family growing up. OK, so I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year. Let me start off by saying that. So I'm having my family, my kids, Wes, my boyfriend, his kids, my mom, her boyfriend, some of his family, my sister. Like there's going to be a bunch of people at my house, okay? Growing up, we always ate Thanksgiving quote unquote dinner at like three or four o'clock. And I never understood that because it's like the middle of the day and you're sitting down to like eat dinner. But that was just like a thing. Well, since I'm hosting this year, I said dinner should be at six o'clock and everybody has their opinions on this. But the reason I did that is because we have a family tradition where we go to Detroit to see the Thanksgiving parade. So we'll go to eat brunch at our buddy Tom's, the Hudson Cafe. We eat this huge brunch. We go to see the parade and then some of my family members go to the Lions game. So we've already eaten. They're drinking at the game. And by the time they get home, it's late, and so I feel like dinner should be at dinnertime, 6 o'clock.

Oh, you can't do that.

And my mom's like, that is too late. Nobody has time to digest anything before they go to bed.

You've got to eat, like, three-ish.

No, because I just had brunch a couple of hours earlier. Well, don't eat brunch. I have to. It's tradition, and I love it. It's the best food ever.

Okay, then eat a light brunch.

No, you can't there.

Thanksgiving meal, and Mike, you'll probably agree, Spike might agree, too, on this one. And if you guys don't, then don't speak up. But you want to eat at 3 o'clock so that you can eat again at 6 and then 9. You've got a nap in between all those two.

But see, we're already doing that. We're eating at the parade, and then some of them are eating at the game.

Well, there's your problem. You do that whole stupid parade thing.

But you also can't cater to the game guys because they're just eating junk and drinking beers the whole game. And then they're going to come home and not even enjoy the giant Thanksgiving meal. You got to cater to the masses. Everybody's sitting at home smelling the smells, and you're making them wait until 6 o'clock at night.

I did the game a few times, and when I would do the game a few times, I was told by Chelsea not to eat anything, to come home hungry. And it was very tempting to be honest with her. But we would eat there at the game, and then she knew we screwed up our appetite at the game.

Well, they have those giant turkey legs at the game.

See, and it's also nice because we all see each other in the morning. So it's nice for everybody who's not going to the game to get to go home, take a little nap, get refreshed. When they come to my house, I have tons of apps put out. So there's still stuff to eat. And then we sit down for dinner at 6. So what kind of apps do you guys do? My sister is in charge of all of the apps this year, and she blows it out of the park.

Sometimes the apps. ruin your thanksgiving meal so because you have so many apps that you you know then you're kind of just eating all day and then dinner time is dinner i listen we we come from a we come from a family of eaters if you haven't seen us and i will say this you have to thanksgiving in my house is great because first off chelsea makes everybody have to get nicely dressed for thanksgiving dinner and within 15 minutes after we're all done everybody's in sweatpants it's the wildest

thing ever yeah so many texters are saying their dinner is lion's halftime yeah that is when they

have thanksgiving dinner which is what like it's two o'clock three o'clock two thirty three o'clock okay yeah yeah that's a good one ours usually so i would say that we go a little later we go maybe at the end of the game which the lions actually don't always screw up uh thanksgiving They actually do, I don't know what their record is, but their record's actually not that bad on Thanksgiving, is it, Mike?

They do better on Thanksgiving. I don't know. I'll look it up right now.

Can you imagine if they win their fourth in a row on Thanksgiving?

I was just going to say, then those guys are coming home from the stadium even drunker, or they're going to a bar afterwards to celebrate.

I don't know. Megan, what time do we eat in your household?

Great question. Anywhere from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., depending on how bad the cooking is going.

You'll have a Thanksgiving meal at 11?

Yeah. I'm going to tell you why. When I cook Thanksgiving, because I'm usually pretty suited, I plan for 11, and then the food hits the table around 2 or 3 o'clock.

Oh, my gosh. That's crazy.

But I'm not a cook, you guys.

Since 1934, the Lions are 37 and 43. That's their record, 37, 43, and 2. Wow.

If they squeak a win in a season, it usually is Thanksgiving, I feel like, anyway. I don't know. The last Thanksgiving game I was at was a couple years ago against the Eagles, and that was a blowout.

So you go down, you do the parade, you eat a brunch, and that doesn't ruin you for the entire day of Thanksgiving?

No, because that's why I don't eat dinner until later. Because then by 6 o'clock, I'm starving.

The Pilgrims ate at 3 o'clock, we heard. I'm seriously talking about the Pilgrims for 2022. Three o'clock.

Shut up.

Oh, it's okay. It's Alex. I'm saying you have to eat early so you can have like two or three or four different dinners like throughout the day. See, we do that with apps.

Apps are just a formality. Apps are just as good as the dinner. Apps are a formality on Thanksgiving.

Yeah, it's just a filler.

That's my duty. I have to do it this year.

And then what about dessert? You guys not having dessert until midnight?

Oh, okay.

You cook all day. It takes everybody about 25 minutes to eat.

Yeah, but we're full. We can't eat dessert right afterwards.

If you start dinner at 6, by 6.30, you're having dessert.

Yeah, so we do right after the game, like 3, 4 o'clock, we will eat our food. And then dessert is usually an hour or so after we eat and clean up the kitchen.

When you've got little kids there, you eat as fast as humanly possible. get it done with. No, you eat dinner,

then you take a nap. Then you eat second round of dinner, then you eat

dessert. You send those rats to the basement. Leave us alone, kids. This is

adult day. And then sometimes we'll go to a 9.30 or 10 o'clock Imagine Theater movie and go get big popcorns and candies and stuff. Is the theater

open on Thanksgiving? Oh, yeah. Oh, I thought it was just Christmas Eve. I didn't know they were open on Thanksgiving. Yeah. Or Christmas Day, I mean. We'll do

a late movie. That's a good movie time, too. What's up, Morgan?

Yeah, hi. I was just going to say, my husband and I, we usually have to go three, sometimes four places. So we normally eat once at about noon, once at about two, and then again around five.

Yeah. Let me ask you a question. When do you take your bowel movement?

Usually we get about an hour break. Trick question. We can take care of business.

You take multiples that day. You take a lot of them that day, right?

You're going to have morning coffee to clear your system for the new day. Yeah.

I don't know what it is about the holiday, but I don't have to go, especially if I'm going to in-laws' places. Something about my body just knows that today is not the day.

Can I tell you that I planned my colonoscopy a couple weeks ago based around Thanksgiving?

Shut up. Yes.
