void where prohibited by law 21 plus terms and conditions apply mojo in the morning i'm gonna say this and when i say that this you guys are gonna say i thought you don't like your dogs but i think i'm now starting to love my dogs and you want to know why i'm starting to love them Because I realized yesterday that my dogs know me more than my family does. And what I mean by this is that Henry and Louie, my two dogs, okay? They're two little dogs. Henry and Louie have more of a knowing of how I'm feeling or how, you know, what I'm going to do than Chelsea and Luke and Joey and Jacob do when they're around the house.

00:02:42 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 2:

You mean they know your habits, your patterns, your mood?

00:02:46 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 4:

Like, for instance, I got something in my throat there. I got to clear it out. They know that when I get up and I go over towards the counter, a certain spot, you know, on my kitchen counter, they know at that moment that the next spot that I'm going to go to is to get my shoes because they know I'm leaving because that's where I keep my keys. Yeah. Like, they have an idea. Like, they will actually get up and go over towards where my shoes are right after they see me go to that area because they know that I'm going out and they might even think that they're going with me, right? The other thing that they know is Henry knows that when I'm heading towards the bathroom, that I'm going to actually go use the bathroom. So there are times where he'll actually go to the toilet paper roll and kind of sit there and try, like he's trying to like hand me toilet paper, basically. It's unbelievable because Henry's our little dog. The other thing that they know is like yesterday, I was here pretty late till like 3.30 or something in the afternoon with meetings. and came home exhausted and they kind of knew that they needed to be quiet and needed to not like you know get too crazy so they kind of come up on the couch and get really kind of close and then they know that we're all going to take a nap together you know yeah and then they know when i'm ready to play you know they know that when i'm ready to go and i was thinking about this yesterday because over the course of the last few days i've been home with just the dogs chelsea's been out running errands luke's out doing his thing you know he's got school and he's you know on his golf team and stuff and I sat there and I thought to myself I bet you a lot of people can relate to this and I know you have Charlie yes but do you feel like Charlie knows my

00:04:21 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 2:

routine better than anybody else for sure yeah he knows all the cues it's so funny every morning it makes me smile because he if if I'm by myself and Wes is not spending the night with me he sleeps on the bed with me and he knows that after I'm you know up and getting ready for work and stuff and I'm going to get ready to go downstairs and let him out and make a coffee. When I walk over to my shades and roll them up, he stands up on the bed because he knows I'm going to pick him up and put him down, and we're going outside. It is go time.

00:04:51 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 4:

It's crazy. At night when I'm on the couch watching a baseball game or watching whatever is on TV, as soon as I get up, they know. the exact time that they're going outside for their last minute poop or pee and then they go in the bed. They get all excited.

00:05:06 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. He also knows now that if Wes is over, and this kind of makes me sad, he knows he's not sleeping in the bed. So when we all go upstairs to bed, he gets in his little bed on the floor and just stares at me like, F you lady. I used to be in that bed all the time. And now I'm not anymore. But he truly knows the difference. He knows to just go get in his little bed because I'm not going to pick him up

00:05:26 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 4:

and put him in my bed. Do you think that he also is like sitting there cussing in his head about this guy

00:05:30 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 1:

absolutely this guy that's

00:05:32 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 4:

getting a chance to cuddle with you not

00:05:33 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 2:

him you know what kills me when I grab my shoes and then she goes and she lays down and she just looks at me like how dare you leave me I don't even have to put him on I just have to touch him and she's like and you're leaving

00:05:45 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 4:

and you have to say bye and if they could talk they would basically be saying you bitch why are you leaving why are you leaving But the thing that I wanted to bring up with this is that I've realized with animals that animals have a better sense of us than, like, our spouse does. And I want you to call up and I want you to tell us why it is that your pet knows you better than your significant other knows you or your kids know you and how they can kind of sense it right away. Like, my family doesn't know, you know, sometimes that I'm having, like, a really bad day, but my dogs do.

00:06:24 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 1:

Well, they say dogs are very intuitive about that, about illnesses.

00:06:27 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 3:

Mike, your cat knows you? No, I was just about to say how jealous I am of you dog people because my cat could give a damn if I'm having a bad day or whatever.

00:06:36 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

Oh, sweetie.

00:06:36 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 3:

Not true.

00:06:37 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 2:

My cat knew that stuff. My cat would crawl up and if I was upset and knew that I needed her to sit with me. She knows.

00:06:46 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 4:

Do you think Mike's got just a bad one? No, it's a sweet girl.

00:06:50 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 2:

i think mike's cat knows that he doesn't want the cat oh that's what it is yeah what's up rachel

00:06:58 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 5:

hi how you doing you can relate to this oh my gosh yeah i swear i work from home and the second it hits 5 30 i swear my dog knows because he'll start like running in circles because he knows he's about to go for a walk so i don't know if it's like the brightness outside like you can see the sun going down or whatever it is but it's crazy that's actually kind of wild too because

00:07:19 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 4:

our dogs know their feeding time too like they know at five o'clock that they're about to get food that that's going to be their dinner it's nuts it's it's incredible what's going on jill hi

00:07:30 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 6:

good morning i have a cat and she knows i work from home and she knows when i'm supposed to be clocking in for work because she'll come over and start meowing like uh hey are you gonna get up for

00:07:40 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 3:

work does you know what my cat does every morning when i wake up she does run from under the bed and walk downstairs with me, but I didn't think anything of it. Like, I didn't think she was doing anything.

00:07:49 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 6:

Sometimes I wait until the last minute to wake up and clock in, and she's like, you're going to be late.

00:07:54 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 4:

Does your pet ever, like, screw that up and it ends up making you late?

00:08:01 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, because then I snuggle because she's so cute.

00:08:04 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 4:

That's cute. That is cute. That's wild because of, it's funny, my dogs have, like, a keen sense of me going to work like Mike's in yours because they know at, like, 3 30 that i get up because they can probably hear me getting up so i can hear them rustle a little bit so sometimes on the weekends they'll wake me up oh yeah same at that time knowing that that's the normal time that i get up during the week so you're gonna be late yeah that's wild thank you

00:08:30 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 6:

do you think that mike's cat hates him uh i don't know maybe he realizes but yeah maybe

00:08:37 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 4:

mike i feel really bad mike i don't even know what your cat's name is it's sweetie and it's You know what? Oh, that's right.

00:08:44 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 3:

It's a sweet cat. Like, it's a genuinely good cat. I just wanted a dog, so I don't necessarily enjoy it. Jill, do you know?

00:08:53 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 6:

I wasn't a cat person either, and my daughter got two cats, and I'm obsessed now.

00:08:58 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 4:

Do you know that his cat's name is not Sweetie? It's Saw-Weedy.

00:09:01 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah.

00:09:02 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 4:

Like the artist.

00:09:03 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, Saw-Weedy.

00:09:04 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 4:

Like the artist, yeah. What's up, John? How you doing?

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 7:

Good. How are you guys?

00:09:08 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, John? John, does your dog know you better than your girlfriend?

00:09:15 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 7:

I don't have a girlfriend, thankfully.

00:09:17 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 4:

Well, then I hope that your dog knows you better than your girlfriend.

00:09:20 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 7:

What did you say, thankfully? Yeah, she knows when it's time to go for a walk. She's going for car rides. And sometimes I tease her and I not take her for a walk, but I take her for a walk anyway. Yeah. For her car rides, if I'm stepping on a Starbucks, she knows exactly where we're at because she knows that she's going to get a pop-top. Oh, yes. By the way.

00:09:44 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

That is pretty crazy that these dogs know where they're going. I can get off the Southfield Freeway, and my dad lives in Allen Park in the neighborhood that's like right there off the Southfield Freeway. I get off the freeway. I don't even have to turn onto my dad's street yet, and Charlie starts going crazy because he knows he's going crazy.

00:10:00 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 5:

Going to my dad's house.

00:10:00 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, my dog loves my dad and knows when we're pulling up to his place and was like, oh my God, go go say goodbye. And she freaks out.

00:10:09 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 2:

Is the whipped cream that they give in a pup cup, is it the regular whipped cream or really? Is it bad to ask for it if you don't have a dog in your car just because you want whipped cream?

00:10:19 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 1:

Do you know how many times it kills me when they see my dog and they still don't offer me one because my dog gets very upset when she doesn't get one.

00:10:26 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 2:

Wow. Yeah, by the way, that's discriminatory towards skinny Coraline.

00:10:30 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 1:

She'll like literally pout if she doesn't get one. I'm like, I'm sorry they were busy. I'm not going to ask for one.

00:10:35 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 2:

Carol, what's up?

00:10:38 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 3:

Hi. Well, my dog is very similar to the last collar because if I ask my dog, Teddy, if he wants to make outside, he does the circle run. But if I ask Teddy if he wants to go for a ride in the car, he will jump all over me and kiss me because he knows he's getting a Dairy Queen ice cream cone.

00:10:55 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, geez. God, you treat your dog better than I'm treating. You know?

00:11:02 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 3:

But, yeah, he knows that a ride in the car is the Dairy Queen, and everything else is just, you know, irrelevant.

00:11:08 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 2:

That's amazing. What's going on, Derek? How you doing?

00:11:12 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning, Mojo. How you doing? Good. Hey, so my dog, Tucker, if he does not get fed at 6 o'clock on the dock, he brings his food dish.

00:11:24 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 3:

Okay, that is impressive.

00:11:26 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

He basically will hold it until I am ready to feed him.

00:11:30 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 2:

That's great. Wow.

00:11:32 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 4:

That's great. It's crazy.

00:11:34 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 2:

Can you imagine if you did that? If all of a sudden you're hungry and you bring it over to your girl and just say, hey, I'm ready for some food, you'd be kicked out of the house. But Tucker gets away with it.

00:11:45 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 4:

Basically, my wife will say, yeah, you're going to make something?

00:11:49 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 2:

Mother Tucker. I guess she's on the phone with us right now. I know that was a bad joke. It was so bad. I just wanted to make you feel better. Thank you. It's been a rough day today. Guess who's on the phone today that's going to make everything right for us. All the technical problems we've had this morning, all the bad jokes and stuff. Misfit Steve is on the show with us. Hi, Steve.

00:12:18 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 5:

What's going on, guys? How's it going?

00:12:20 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 2:

It's good, man. So Misfit Steve, we're talking about how our dogs or our pets know us more than our significant others do. I didn't even know. Misfit Steve, do you have a pet?

00:12:30 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I have two dogs. One is a pug and one is a lab.

00:12:35 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really? And what is it that your pug and lab know about you?

00:12:40 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, so every night, you know, when I'm about to whine down, my dog will start whining because they know that I'm about to smoke weed outside.

00:12:51 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 2:

Oh, wow. That is intuitive. Smoking the reefer. Great. Smoking the reefer, yep. So what do they do? Do they go outside with you and kind of hang out?

00:13:03 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, they hang out. But when I'm getting prepared and, like, putting on my jacket and shoes and everything, they will literally start scratching the door and whining, running in circles. Like, they get more excited for the weed than I do.

00:13:18 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 2:

That's fantastic. So they just kind of love just chilling out with, you know, what do they call you? Do they have a name for you?

00:13:27 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 5:

Just Wacko Steve.

00:13:30 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 2:

That's it. I love it. Do you think your dogs just wanted to go outside and they just know they're going to go outside? Or do you think that they enjoy the actual smell of the weed?

00:13:42 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 5:

I end up giving them a treat afterwards anyway. Oh, so they are very conditioned.

00:13:47 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Is it because you're giving yourself a treat?

00:13:50 - 00:13:54 | Speaker 5:

They get a treat. What did you say, Mojo?

00:13:54 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 2:

Is it because you're getting a treat, too? You get a little munchies, and that's why you've got to give themselves a high.

00:14:00 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. We're all eating.

00:14:02 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 2:

All right.

00:14:02 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 5:

Happy early 420 for tomorrow, by the way.

00:14:05 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 2:

That's right. How are you celebrating 420, Misfits, Steve?

00:14:09 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 5:

Well, I wanted to stop by at Mojo's tournament.

00:14:14 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, will you come out to Topgolf and golf with us?

00:14:17 - 00:14:20 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm not a golfer, but I'll definitely be there. That's okay, I'm not either.

00:14:21 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 2:

Do it, seriously. I want you there, okay? And it's 420, and don't worry, even though we're raising money for the sheriff's, you know, program. Sheriff Bouchard, he knows it's legal, so, okay?

00:14:32 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, and I'm definitely going to give some to Megan, too, because I know she'll be there.

00:14:36 - 00:14:40 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. I love you. He's bringing you weed. I love it.

00:14:40 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 1:

I feel like this is going to be the beginning of a very beautiful relationship.

00:14:44 - 00:14:54 | Speaker 2:

You too. Take care. We'll see you, Misfit Steve. Hold on a second, Misfit Steve. Listener Megan wants to tell us how her dog knows when she's about ready to go bake cookies.

00:14:56 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 1:

Yes. So every time my dog...

00:15:00 - 00:15:11 | Speaker 2:

Dogs, they always lay in the bed, and whenever we are about to bake cookies, they just know, and they'll both just get up, hop down, and just go lay on the floor. Wow. You're talking about sex.

00:15:11 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 6:

Wait, so they actually know right about the time that you're going to do it, and they just get off the bed and leave you guys alone?

00:15:18 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, not like a scheduled time, but if we're laying in bed, even if we kiss once or twice, they'll just look at us, take the hit, and then they'll just sit down.

00:15:25 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 7:

All right, I'll get out of here. Do you ever look and they've got, like, their paw over their eyes so they're not watching?

00:15:36 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 2:

One of them will go lay under the bed. Oh.

00:15:40 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 7:

Poor dog.

00:15:42 - 00:16:17 | Speaker 4:

Warm weather. Smell that? That's the smell of your dog's poop that's piled up over the winter. This is Mojo in the Morning.
