It's Mojo in the morning. I gotta give an alert right now. And your kids are in the car. If you have little teeny ones that love the magic of the season, they may not want to hear what we're going to talk about here. And for the next, I'm going to give it five minutes. Okay. So until we do the scam. So you might want to turn them just away for a second. My suggestion is if you have little kids that are there, like give them some kind of candy and have them run over to them.

00:01:44 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 3:

Yes, candy. This early in the morning. It's a great idea.

00:01:46 - 00:02:00 | Speaker 6:

Just give them some. It's good. Good stuff. So guess what was in Shannon's pants is what we're going to talk about right now. And by the way, I guess that could have been a warning in itself, but it was actually kind of heartfelt and wonderful that was in your pants.

00:02:00 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 3:

Is it? Yeah, I guess.

00:02:02 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 6:

It was the spirit of the season that was in your pants.

00:02:03 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so I am one of those really weird parents that kind of likes having an elf on the shelf visiting our house during the holiday season. I love the magic of it, and I think that this might be Lucy's last year of the magic if it hasn't happened already. Anyway, so I want to squeeze out as much magic as I can. However, any parent who has an elf in your home, you know the struggle and the anxiety of having to move this thing. It is like the tooth fairy. It is terrifying to try and pull off every night without getting caught. And I was telling you, Mojo, it especially scares me lately because both of my kids tend to wake up in the middle of the night and they'll like wander into my room or wander to try to see like if I'm downstairs or whatever and want me to put them back to bed. And I'm so scared that as I'm switching, our elf's name is Rice Krispie Treat, by the way, that as I'm switching Rice Krispie Treat into her various like scenes at night, that they're going to catch me elf handed.

00:03:08 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 4:

Well, yeah, the parents are creating for themselves. So basically the tooth fairy situation every single night for a month.

00:03:15 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 6:

If you don't mind me asking, when does Rice Krispie Treat move?

00:03:21 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 3:

Sometimes she moves after the kids go to bed, and I think they're asleep. Sometimes, and so far this year, we've only had her for two days. Today's the second day. But she has moved in the morning right when I wake up for work at 345 because I'm so tired at night and I just fall asleep, and I don't have the energy to do it.

00:03:39 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 6:

Okay, understand.

00:03:39 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 3:

So the thing that I do to make sure that I am not caught with the elf in my hand is I put her down my pants. And I walk around the house and try to figure out where I'm going to put her next. So you put her in. So my elf is touching my Christmas, basically. It's very appropriate. But I'm like, this is kind of weird. As I pull her out of my underwear. Have the kids ever. But I don't, like if somebody comes down the stairs Or Smith wanders out of his room At least that way they don't know That the elf is on me

00:04:13 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 6:

Have the kids ever like been by you When all of a sudden they like startled you And they say mom

00:04:19 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 3:

Well yesterday morning I had you know Set a reminder on my phone to To move her because it was the first day And as I was Getting up to do it Smith woke up

00:04:29 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

Oh geez

00:04:30 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 3:

So I had to like wait a little bit To do it but

00:04:34 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 6:

Does this happen to other parents that are listening? Have any other elves almost been caught in their movement time? And what do you do? Where do you have it?

00:04:48 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 3:

I feel like these elves were the best and the worst thing that ever happened. I love them, but at the same time, it's like you go into survival mode trying to create this. It's like Spike said. It's the tooth fairy times how many more days And it's a pain in the butt with the tooth fairy alone Now you gotta do this with this

00:05:07 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 1:

Get to the list of reasons why I'm glad I don't have kids

00:05:10 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 5:

My friends all have One elf for every kid In their family And Wilhelmina's elf has pets

00:05:18 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 1:

Your pants aren't big enough for that

00:05:20 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 5:

Pets that come with her And Jack's elf Oh yes, there's a reindeer, there's a dog They market the crap out of this thing

00:05:27 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 3:

It used to be back in the day that it was just the elf. Now it's the elf with a bunch of other accessories that they can now make money off of.

00:05:34 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

Whoever marketed this thing, you deserve all the money in the world.

00:05:38 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 5:

It was just like a mom who wrote the book with this little doll.

00:05:42 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 3:

You know who hates the elf more than parents having to move it? Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer guy. Nobody cares about him. And grandma got run over by a reindeer guy and all the rest of those people. What's going on, Terry? Hi.

00:05:54 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 7:

Hi, good morning. I love you guys.

00:05:56 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 3:

Hey, we love you too. Did the elf almost get caught moving?

00:06:01 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 7:

My daughter got up and she never gets up at night And she got up at night and I was in the pantry So I shoved it in a cereal box

00:06:08 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 2:

Why does the elf smell like Lucky Charms?

00:06:14 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 3:

What would have happened if your daughter just wanted one bowl of cereal before she went to bed?

00:06:20 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 7:

I would have been thankful because I shoved it in a special K and ruined half my cereal Okay

00:06:24 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 3:

That's funny Oh, my God. Isn't it a pain in the butt?

00:06:30 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 5:

I was not upset that I'd left my cereal box open like I normally would have freaked out about it. Yeah. By the way, I'm so happy that other parents are texting that they do the same thing with shoving the elf down your pants as you're walking around the house.

00:06:41 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 7:

I think it's genius, honestly. I was like, that's so smart. It is.

00:06:45 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 3:

Thank you for the call. I appreciate it.

00:06:47 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 7:

Thank you.

00:06:47 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

Uh, texters here texting into us this morning, 248 says that, uh, they had almost an elf capture and they had to throw their elf out into the yard quickly when their kid came into the room. Can you imagine?

00:07:03 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 5:

I know.

00:07:04 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 3:

What happens if you throw it out and then you don't find it or you, something happens, you know, an animal comes and takes it away.

00:07:10 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 5:

Because Andrew and I, we now each have one at our respective houses and there, we have a backup just in case because we've learned our lesson with this thing do you guys have

00:07:19 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

the elves look like each other like well so now we do but the very first year that he

00:07:26 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 5:

had his own place he got the wrong eye colored elf and the wrong skin tone so different colors yeah so lucy's like how come the elf looks different how come rice crispy treat looks different at dad's house that it does at your house and i had to text andrew and be like you

00:07:41 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

dummy you got the wrong one it's the lighting it's daddy's lighting why why is lucy just too smart don't don't you wish that your kids but you know like you know your elf right i know uh hold on let me grab uh let me grab a call here uh who's this uh yes go say your name it's marceles how you doing marceles hey marceles what's the elf's name it's job i'm sorry what did you say

00:08:09 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 6:

We named him a job.

00:08:10 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 2:

Job, okay.

00:08:11 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 5:

That's your elf's name?

00:08:13 - 00:08:14 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:08:14 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 2:

You know, when you let the kids name things, they come up with some things.

00:08:16 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 5:

I mean, we have Rice Krispie Treat. My niece has Moana.

00:08:19 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 3:

Trust me. And have you almost been caught?

00:08:22 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 6:

Definitely. So many times we had to literally make the elf fly across their heads. Oh. And then from time to time, we had to literally stuff them in the fridge because they're literally creeping up right behind us. And what are we doing? So as soon as we're trying to get milk and stuff for breakfast We just stop putting them in the fridge Like, okay, that's where he is

00:08:42 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 3:

Poor Joe That is hysterical Oh my gosh Well, thank you so much I've got to wrap this conversation up here In just a second So maybe one last call, KP And then that's it Because we're going to do the scam And then we'll bring the kids back to the radio

00:08:57 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 2:

We've got a Christmas scam and a big prize

00:09:00 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 3:

Did your parents ever, when you were kids Did they ever send you out of the room for adult conversation? They would do that with us in our house They would say mom and dad are going to have Adult conversation And now I know what the adult conversation was It was about things in my mom's pants What's up Autumn, hi

00:09:18 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 4:
