Mojo in the morning. We are commercial free. So thanks for listening to the show. You are done with commercials here for a little bit. Mojo in the morning on great stations like 104.5 SNX, 92.5 KISS FM, and Channel 955. So Spike, it would be like bad karma if you did this. You would get it. You would get bad inspiration if you did something like you were thinking about doing.

00:02:42 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 2:

Well, I would like to ask people what their inspirational sign says. And if you're saying, what are you talking about your inspirational sign i walked into my friend's house yesterday and i'd never been in their kitchen before i was picking up my garage clicker at my friend's house uh they were when i was out of town they had my garage clicker they had about 15 or 20 of those modern rustic wood signs with the inspirational words that you buy from like michael's or home goods so on every wall in their house they had these signs that were like this is a home of love and live laugh love love pray live eat pray whatever i mean they had a bunch of these signs all over the place i think you're supposed to buy like maybe one of those or two of those maybe as a little accent for decoration but they had 20 of them in over the table come gather at our table in fancy white cursive letters eat drink and be thankful and then over the sink life is short dance in the kitchen then as you walk in the hall to the kitchen enjoy the journey and i'm like where from the front door to the kitchen life happens coffee helps is a little wood block on their countertop and then over the other wall in their kitchen table they had some frame family photos which were very cute little black and white photos and in the center three big wooden letters that said eat e-a-t and i'm like why do people have these Who are these signs talking to? Are they reminding themselves to eat?

00:04:15 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

My wife has done the same thing, but it's like a hallway specifically when you walk down the stairs in our house. It's like a hallway filled. It's just in that spot, and it's a bunch of these. So what I'll do sometimes is I'll start having conversations with her just using those signs.

00:04:31 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 2:

See how long it takes her to catch on.

00:04:33 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 6:

I have no idea why we have all of those. I have no idea what the purpose is, but she loves them.

00:04:38 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 3:

She wants you to walk out with a mantra in your head.

00:04:40 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

I guess, yeah. You know, it's just people don't know how to fill the blank walls.

00:04:43 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 9:

It'd be funny if one of their kids, if they have children or if they had video, could film their yelling arguments with each other as a family. Right. With those in the background.

00:04:56 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

It's like, I already know you like wine. You don't need.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 3:

Or that life is better at the lake. You don't need a bunch of store-bought signs to put those all in.

00:05:04 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 1:

I mean, there are two whole aisles at home goods of those.

00:05:07 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think to each his own, you know what I mean? Like you decorate it to decorate it, you fill it up and stuff like that. We were having a conversation. Chelsea and I are not painting people. Our stuff that we have, like Chelsea has the taste. I don't hang anything. If it was up to me, I would have posters of Michael Jordan dunking. Right, Mike? You know what I mean? Like if it was up to us to decorate our houses and I actually like my man cave has a Tiger Woods, you know, picture hanging up in the thing. But if it was up to me, it would be like all sports pictures where I'm not a very, very decorative type of a person.

00:05:41 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 3:

But they had a little sign that said happiness is homemade, but they didn't make the sign. It was bought at home goods. So I was like, well, why didn't you make the sign? Right. They have these places now where you can go make these signs. It's the new thing because all the women have... Everybody's done painting with a twist like 10 times where you drink wine and make a horrible painting that you're never going to do anything with. Now they're doing it where you make one of these little signs.

00:06:07 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

So A&R Workshop, I know there are a few in our listening area. I have to shout out the one in Ferndale because my friend Katie owns it. But they're actually really fun. Are they? They are super fun to get a bunch of girlfriends together and grab some drinks. Let's do it as a morning show. And then we can decorate the new studios. Seriously super fun.

00:06:21 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

Well, what would Mojo's inspirational sign say? Because I want to make one for myself, But I want to make something you can't buy in a store Like say like I'm a grower not a shower Stop eating mine would be Stop eating

00:06:30 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 4:

It'd be like put that on the refrigerator If you got one of those inspirational things Why am I voice disguising you Monica Oh my god what is that

00:06:45 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 3:

Hold on Sounds like you're double voice disguised Hang on a second Are you there

00:06:48 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

Hold on I gotta restart Somebody yeah Who's messing My favorite thing that's ever happened. Who's messing with my harmonizer here? Sounds like a mouse. I know. That was kind of, that was a little crazy. I don't know if that maybe is a. Hang on, Monica. We want to make sure we get it right before you talk. Yeah, don't say a word. I'll tell you when you can talk, okay?

00:07:08 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 3:

Wow, that was wild.

00:07:09 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

It's resetting. It's testing. It's going through its initiating process. It's like when the TikTok filters don't work right. You're trying to watch the video and you're like, I can't. All I can think about is the voice. Go ahead, Monica.

00:07:18 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 3:

Enjoy the journey, as the sign would say.

00:07:22 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 4:

Monica?

00:07:22 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 1:

Oh, it is broken.

00:07:23 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 4:

That's Monica's phone Hold on, stand there for a second Jesse, I know you don't want to voice this, guys But can you just talk for a second for me? No

00:07:35 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 3:

No, it is us Hang on, Jesse

00:07:37 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 4:

Are you there?

00:07:40 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 3:

Jesse? Did someone change the setting?

00:07:44 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

Who changed my setting?

00:07:46 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 3:

Wait Now go back to Jesse's voice And let's see what he sounds like Without the, or she, or he

00:07:52 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 4:

Alright, hold on a second Jessie, are you there? I am here. Oh, geez. Okay, perfect. Okay. Somebody changed my setting. Yeah, what the heck? Who the F did my setting?

00:08:01 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

Maybe the cleaning person pushed too hard on the buttons.

00:08:05 - 00:08:06 | Unknown:

I don't know.

00:08:07 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 4:

Usually when you turn it off and reset it, it's fine.

00:08:10 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 3:

Jessie, do you have these signs in your house, Jessie?

00:08:14 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

So my husband and I have a very small house, so right now we just have one that we got from our wedding. And I told him, I said, okay, next house that we get, I'm going to decorate. And he's like, that's all you. And so I'm like, okay, I'm going to have all of the signs in the house. Like all the walls are going to be full of signs. So he gave me permission, but he hates him so much. He's going to be very inspired. Absolutely. You know, that's my goal. That's my job as his wife.

00:08:44 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

I think you just have to limit it to three signs maybe. Maybe not 15 or 20 like my friend had.

00:08:50 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's a bit excessive. I will say that.

00:08:53 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 4:

You can't live, laugh, and love with three sons.

00:08:55 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

I would have never given them my garage clicker because I would have realized they might have broken in and put them all over my house, too. All right, Monique, you back?

00:09:03 - 00:09:03 | Unknown:

Hi.

00:09:04 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 4:

There you are. Can you understand it or no?

00:09:06 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it sounds better. Yeah. Hi, Monique.

00:09:09 - 00:09:10 | Unknown:

Hi, Spike.

00:09:10 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 3:

Hi. Hi, Shannon. Hi. Sounds like she's already got a high-pitched voice.

00:09:16 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 4:

Can you real quick say something for me instead of a name? say the lollipop guild, the lollipop guild. Go ahead.

00:09:29 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 3:

You'll hear this later in the podcast and realize

00:09:30 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 4:

you sound like a munchkin. Monique, I have to use you on Voiceless Guys because there's something wrong with the Voiceless Geyser machine. Are you okay with that?

00:09:37 - 00:09:38 | Unknown:

Okay, sure.

00:09:38 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 4:

Alright, I'm going to go to Unvoiceless Guys. She's just shy, that's all. Monique? Yes. Oh my god. Alright, Monique, What were your comments you were going to make on this?

00:09:49 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

My comment was that my counselor told me to do the same thing. Keep words of praise, words of affirmation all around your house.

00:10:00 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 7:

beautiful ideas, things that when you're down, you can look over and say, yeah, live, laugh, love. To keep you in half.

00:10:10 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 9:

Yeah.

00:10:11 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 1:

By the way, I do this. I write on my bathroom mirror, or I put little post-its with stuff I hear on my bathroom mirror. I really, really believe that.

00:10:18 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 2:

Can I be honest with you, though? If that's all your counselor said, fire your counselor. And hang up in the counselor's office, you're fired.

00:10:26 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 7:

A little more love. Yeah.

00:10:28 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 2:

I love when you hear that People will go, yeah, my therapist told me this And I'm going, wait a second, your therapist said That the only way you're going to actually have a good day Is by looking at a sign that says

00:10:38 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 3:

I get what she's saying, I think it's nice But like Shannon said, when you write it out yourself It has a little more intention Because you pick something personal to you When you're in Michael's aisle 5 And you're just looking for something to fill the space Well, and I constantly am changing

00:10:49 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 1:

Like, you know, throwing the post-its away and putting new ones up

00:10:52 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

What happens if you buy too many at Michael's And now you're financially in the hole And now you've got the stress of finance

00:10:57 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 1:

And now you can't pay your counselor, and she told you to do it.

00:11:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 2:

Jasmine, what's going on?

00:11:02 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 5:

Hi, guys.

00:11:03 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 6:

Hi. I just wanted to tell you about my inspirational sign. I have it in my bathroom, and it says, if your duties be cray, please use the spray.

00:11:14 - 00:11:16 | Unknown:

I love it. I love that one.

00:11:17 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 3:

In beautiful cursive.

00:11:18 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 2:

Those are my favorite when you have that. I like when they're in the bathroom compared to the kitchen because that's where you want the reading material, right? Right, yeah. That's where you want to be able to – I thought about this, and Chelsea would never let me do this. I thought, wouldn't it be great if next to the toilet, if you had headphones just hanging there where people could actually put music on and, like, sit in the toilet, like guests come in, so they grab a pair of headphones off of, like, a little nice little, you know, thing, grab the headphones, pop them on you, you know, like a pair of Beats or something, like over ears. No, but I'm saying people could do that. Or how about this one for your phone? How about a music stand, like you see musicians have, where you can put your phone on a stand, but it comes from the wall, like you have hanging things that come over? You can do that. No, I'm saying that's what I wanted to put in my bathroom. I wanted to do that for guests. Come over.

00:12:13 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 9:

The bathroom headphones.

00:12:14 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 2:

I like that, but the bathroom headphones seem super gross. Why? I don't know. There's something about headphones in your ears and poop particles. It's no different than you grabbing toilet off the toilet paper roll. I guess. I don't know.

00:12:26 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 5:

But that's also going near your booty hole. The headphones aren't. They're going near your face.

00:12:30 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 2:

I understand. But your hands are going to be dirty no matter what. Listen, it's not like people are sticking the headphones on their anus.

00:12:37 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 8:

How dirty are your hands getting in the bathroom and why?

00:12:40 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 2:

Well, your hands shouldn't be dirty by the time you put the headphones on. They're dirty after you put the headphones on. Angela, what's going on?

00:12:47 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 8:

Hey, good morning.

00:12:48 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 2:

Good morning.

00:12:49 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 8:

So my mom and I own a restaurant. Um, and we have, we've been open for like 16 years now. And so we have a wall that we've kind of, it started super small, but it's like a thing now that, um, we have all of the signs on the wall and people will give them to us, but they're not like inspirational, like live, laugh, love crap. I'm not, no, no, thanks. Um, it's all the sassy ones that I wish I could say to customers, but I can't.

00:13:16 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. Like what? Give us one example.

00:13:19 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 8:

So, like, my current one that I have up there, like, I have a letter board on one of them, and it says, don't blame the holidays. You were fat in August. Ah, that's great.

00:13:33 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 2:

Do people ever try to steal your signs?

00:13:36 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 8:

Oh, yeah. We were connected to, like, a consignment shop for a long time, and they've gone out of business. But people would pluck our stuff off the walls and go over and try and pay for it over there. But yeah, people try and buy our stuff all the time It's hilarious

00:13:50 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Adam?

00:13:54 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 4:

Hey, I got a great sign for you guys Currently hangs in my living room It says, friendship is like peeing your pants Everyone can see it, but only you can feel it's warm

00:14:02 - 00:14:09 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's a good one Brittany, what's your sign?

00:14:10 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 5:

My sister, she had this sign in her kitchen That said, life's short, lick the bowl So I took that off her wall and put it on the windowsill next to the toilet.

00:14:21 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 2:

And I like what Alex does. This is what you can do at your friend's house, Spike. It can be very subtle. Alex, what do you do when you go over to family, or what does family do to you when they go over to your house?

00:14:32 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 7:

Well, in my kitchen, I have a wall called Random Mess. So my family, sometimes I take pictures of themselves that are really funny and just paste it on the wall.

00:14:42 - 00:14:50 | Speaker 2:

I like it. So people actually add pictures to the wall. It's kind of like when you went to that restaurant, Spike, and put one of your autographed pictures in there.

00:14:50 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 3:

My station picture.

00:14:52 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Go over to your friend's house and all of a sudden just hang up and see how long it takes for them to realize that it's there.

00:14:58 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 3:

How am I supposed to live?

00:15:00 - 00:15:09 | Speaker 5:
