Katie, Lydia, all hanging out here with us today on the show.

00:05:04 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 1:

Can I ask you guys a question? Yes. Do any of you still have your Christmas trees up? No, we took it down this weekend. You did? Yeah. I have everything else. You have yours up?

00:05:14 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 2:

I do.

00:05:14 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

Okay, good. I'm not the only one. I took everything down, all of my Christmas decorations down, like in the days after Christmas. My tree's still up, and I looked at it yesterday after the show. I'm like, come on, Stan. Get some motivation to take this thing down. Why didn't you stop? It's just you had everything else done. Because that took so long And then I was like I'm good I'll do the tree another day Well I still haven't done the tree You know what it is I put a bunch of tinsel on my tree this year Because Shani's granny used to do that And so I'm like oh I'm going to remember Shani's granny this year And I just I know it's going to be so much clean up And such a headache

00:05:50 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 2:

You know you do You take your vacuum and just go

00:05:53 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 1:

I think it would ruin my vacuum I know that's alright

00:05:55 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 2:

Just go get a new one

00:05:57 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

00:06:00 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 2:

So do you put your Christmas tree in a bag or a box? Yes.

00:06:05 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

I bought one of those big bags from that at-home superstore, and I store it in that. But I just have zero motivation. I was looking at it this morning when I was making coffee, and I'm like, maybe I'll be one of those people that makes it into a Valentine's Day tree.

00:06:20 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, God, don't do that.

00:06:21 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

Because I really have zero motivation to take this thing apart.

00:06:24 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 3:

What do they say is the etiquette? It's the 12 days after Christmas or something. Is there another feast day?

00:06:29 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 1:

For Catholics, it's the 6th, right?

00:06:30 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 2:

Feast of the Little of, it's Little Christmas.

00:06:33 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 3:

Little Christmas.

00:06:33 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

Somebody told me it's bad luck to still have it up. And if that's true, my butt will get into gear and I will take it down after the show today.

00:06:40 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 2:

My friend of the family's Kathy has a Christmas room. It's the greatest thing ever. She's got a three-bedroom place and she doesn't have anybody in, you know, two of the bedrooms. So she just puts all of her Christmas stuff in that room Closes the door, locks it, and then just pulls it out The tree is already decorated

00:07:00 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's nice, though, if you don't have to fluff the tree And put every single ornament on every year

00:07:05 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 2:

Although, let me say something about Reese Because Reese says, I still have my Christmas tree up Is it the tree that I gave you?

00:07:11 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 3:

No, I actually Oh, did you get a big tree? My sister had a spare this year, so she gave me her old one So it's not a really fancy one, but it works

00:07:18 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 2:

Because I was going to say, the tree that I gave you It was literally the size of this water bottle. No, I've never taken that one down.

00:07:23 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 3:

That one's staying up all year. Mine was gone 12 hours after Christmas. Oh, my gosh. I didn't ask for that. No, it was my girlfriend. Because Christmas morning, I flew to Philadelphia to spend Christmas with my parents and my kids. And she had the house to herself. She completely took Christmas down. Everything, including the tree. I told her, don't touch the tree. When I get back, I'll do it. I don't want you messing with that big tree Nine and a half feet tall She did the whole thing the next morning She just wanted it clean She was sick of looking at it

00:07:56 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 1:

That's usually me I'm just dragging my feet this year

00:07:59 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 3:

But when I flew back on the 30th I thought we were robbed It looked like the house was so empty It is weird

00:08:06 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

When the tree is gone And then you put whatever furniture is in that spot Or you have nothing in that spot You're like oh my god I actually told Chelsea We gotta call Tom the electrician and see if we can get more lights because I feel like my house is dark now because the tree is gone because we were using the tree pretty much as a light. Yeah, it's nice.

00:08:27 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 1:

And you put yours, like, right in the middle of your living room, right?

00:08:30 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, have it right there in the middle of the living room.

00:08:32 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 1:

The window, yeah.

00:08:33 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 2:

You should see all the pee marks from Henry and Louie.

00:08:37 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 1:

Oh, around the tree?

00:08:38 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Yeah. Well, the good thing is we have this, like, thing at the bottom of the tree. It's like the silver thing. So they were peeing on the silver thing that's around the bottom of the tree That's like the metal piece I'm like, we got you bastards In the past Did you get them? Oh yeah

00:08:55 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 3:

There's still pee all over the floor

00:08:57 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

Now because I just clean it off really quick I'm like, going on But Mojo in the morning, what's going on? Poncho, do you have your tree up still? No, I've had mine down since the day after Christmas If she didn't want, she can hear me I'll come take it down Oh

00:09:12 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 1:

How much do you charge?

00:09:15 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 2:

What's your rate?

00:09:16 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 1:

Case of beer.

00:09:17 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 2:

What about the outside lights? When do you have to take those outside lights off? Mine are gone. Really?

00:09:22 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

Like, truly everything else is.

00:09:23 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 2:

But your outside lights are gone because you do commercials for that company.

00:09:27 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 1:

She wasn't out there the latter. Pink pro holiday lights came and took them down already. They were wonderful.

00:09:31 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, if you had to do it.

00:09:33 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 1:

Truly wonderful.

00:09:33 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 2:

Would they really be down right now? Probably not. You can hire Poncho as your other guy. You have the pink pro guys and you have Poncho. Poncho and the pink pro guys.

00:09:41 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 3:

I did the last of my lights yesterday because it was so nice. I was like, let me, we're not going to get another sunny, warm day like this for a while. I'm going to do it all.

00:09:47 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 2:

I think you can keep them for longer if you want. The outside lights aren't as bad. I don't, I don't think people need to turn those off. I do enjoy them.

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Depends. Like white Christmas lights are classic and timeless, I think. But if you got an inflatable Grinch, you got.

00:10:00 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 4:

take that down um mojo in the morning show what's going on daniella hello hi i love you guys good

00:10:07 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 3:

morning good morning when do you take your tree down february second so chanon you are okay why i'm from mexico i'm from mexico and in mexico there's a tradition that on um January 6th, you kind of caught the three kings.

00:10:29 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's right, the Feast of the Three Kings.

00:10:32 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, and if you get the baby Jesus, you have to throw a party on February 2nd. So the tree has to stay up until that day.

00:10:41 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 4:

But wait a second.

00:10:42 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

If it's not that long, you're fine.

00:10:43 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 4:

So what did you say there, though? You said if you get the baby Jesus? What does that mean?

00:10:48 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, inside the bread, there's little, you know, toys, and they are plastic baby Jesus. So if you get it inside the bread when you cut it, you have to throw a potty with tamales.

00:11:03 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 4:

Oh, man. I want to come to your house.

00:11:06 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 2:

But what if you accidentally swallow the baby Jesus?

00:11:09 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 5:

My friend Jorge brought it to work and explained the whole thing to us. I thought I was going to choke on it.

00:11:15 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 3:

People do that to avoid throwing the potty.

00:11:17 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 4:

How does the baby Jesus feel about that? I can't imagine the baby Jesus is happy that they're lying about that. Well, it sounds good. Where are you? What town are you in?

00:11:32 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 3:

I live in Washington Township, driving to Novi.

00:11:35 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 5:

Oh, man, what a long commute. We love people like you.

00:11:38 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 4:

Can we come over for tamales? Do you make good tamales?

00:11:42 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 3:

February 2nd. All right. I'm writing it down.

00:11:45 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 4:

On February 2nd, Daniela in Washington Township. I'm not going to forget about this, okay?

00:11:52 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 3:

Okay, guys. Thank you. Have a good day.

00:11:55 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 4:

Hey, take care of yourself. Or you could be like Greg, Shannon. Greg?

00:11:59 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, everybody. Good morning.

00:12:01 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 4:

Tell everybody about your decorative fun home.

00:12:06 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 1:

Shannon, don't feel bad. I have Halloween lights still up from 2019 and Christmas lights up from 2020.

00:12:12 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 2:

I love it. Oh, jeez. Definitely. Ooh. Come on, get that thing out of there. Get it out of there. What just happened?

00:12:22 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 4:

That was, by the way, that's because if it was Halloween, there's a demon inside Shannon right now. Well, your neighbors must love you. Like, I always think that the person in the neighborhood that does that, that has their Halloween stuff up or their things still up.

00:12:39 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 5:

There's still one rotten pumpkin in my neighborhood.

00:12:42 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 1:

I've got a very long front porch, and so we've got four floodlights up there, and I pulled them all out and put those decorative fire flickering LED lights in, and we never took them down. And then I've got a two-story house, and I've got a steep pitch, and a couple years ago I rented a lift and put lights up on the gutters around the second story, and my butt's not getting up on the roof to pull them down.

00:13:08 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 5:

But do you still turn them on all the time, or they're just there?

00:13:11 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 1:

um sometimes they well my wife forgot to unplug them because i'm i'm a truck driver i'm over the road and uh the the second story was on for like a month wow man of course i show up and they're still on in the middle of the day and i'm like um anybody else gonna pay the electric bill

00:13:29 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 4:

by the way uh i got my gas and my electric bill um i cannot believe how much money it it was more than double this year than it was last year and there's just three of us in our house and last year I think we had more people even come over for the holidays and stuff but I cannot believe have you guys seen your electric bill or your gas bill? I don't know Mine comes right out of your thing?

00:13:56 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 2:

My DTE bill just is automatically, yeah but I do pay my consumers

00:13:59 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 4:

You don't look at the bills at all?

00:14:00 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 2:

I look at it when I get it in my email, yes and I don't think I've gotten one for December yet

00:14:05 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 4:

It's insane, I actually called a friend of mine who works for consumers and I said, what's the story with this? And they're like, well, that's a sign of the times. Everything's more expensive right now. But I could not believe, and after seeing that I'm like, I ain't putting anything out. We're not turning any lights off. I'm like that. I'm like my dad now. Shutting lights off around the house and, you know, keeping alright, we don't need that right there.

00:14:30 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 2:

That scares me because this was the most Christmas lights I've ever, ever had in my house. So now I'm worried about getting that bill.

00:14:36 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 4:

Go look at it or wait until you get it and tell me what it was different compared to the last year. Jacob? Yes. What's happening? How's it going? Hey, we're talking about taking your Christmas tree down. I didn't realize this, but Friday was National Take Christmas Tree Day Down. How come we didn't notice that? We should have told Shannon that before the weekend. Yeah.

00:14:59 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:15:00 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 1:

I was actually calling, my wife actually decorates for every holiday, like 4th of July and all that stuff.

00:15:06 - 00:15:11 | Speaker 4:

Really? So do you guys have all your stuff up or are you guys pretty good about taking it, putting it up and taking it down?

00:15:12 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 1:

She leaves it up all year long and decorates it for every holiday. Yeah, so she has like a Valentine's tree right now.

00:15:18 - 00:15:19 | Speaker 6:

Is that what it is? Or is it still New Year?

00:15:21 - 00:15:25 | Speaker 1:

It's still Christmas one, but she'll probably eventually get to the Valentine's Day one.

00:15:25 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 4:

Do people just think you guys are lazy or do they think you're festive?

00:15:30 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 1:

I mean, I think she's faster. I mean, props to her. At least I don't have to take it down.

00:15:35 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 2:

That's all he's worried about.

00:15:37 - 00:15:54 | Speaker 4:

I will tell you this, though. Taking it down is so much better than putting it up. For some reason, this year, taking it down was, oh, really? I thought this year, Chelsea was like, we're taking the tree down. I'm like, oh, I was dreading it. And then doing it and helping her out and putting the stuff away, it made me feel so much better than putting it up.

00:15:54 - 00:15:57 | Speaker 2:

Nothing ever seems to fit in the boxes the same way.

00:15:57 - 00:15:58 | Speaker 6:

That's true.

00:15:58 - 00:16:03 | Speaker 2:

I'm like, how do we have more stuff? It all came out of these three boxes. Why won't it fit back in these three boxes?

00:16:03 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 4:

I just felt so good about it. I don't know. Yesterday, I cleaned out our garage, and then today I got to do more dropping off at Goodwill and stuff. I'm trying to get rid of crap, and it's now at a point where if you are one of my two older sons who have not lived in my house in a while, Jacob's way still at school, and Joe's been gone for a while. If you're not there and it's your stuff, it doesn't belong to you anymore. I take, what do they call possession is five-tenths or nine-tenths of the law? I only thought it was five-tenths, but I'll take nine-tenths. That's better. So I'm just like getting rid of crap all the time.

00:16:40 - 00:16:56 | Speaker 6:
