00:02:04 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 2:

Mojo. This show's up. And the Rockets red glare. You're not being logical is what I'm saying.

00:02:15 - 00:02:17 | Speaker 5:

This is like an orgasm in a cup.

00:02:19 - 00:02:23 | Unknown:

It's showtime.

00:02:49 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 1:

I felt like a kid the night before Christmas last night. I could not sleep. I could not get to bed. I was anticipating what we got going on on today's show and the next three and a half weeks of shows. Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. It is so good to have you guys here with us. Welcome to Christmas time, everybody. It's officially underway now. Give me some Christmas music, please. All right, here we go. Yeah. Yes, welcome to Christmas.

00:03:53 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 2:

I didn't see on your Instagram, Mojo. Were you up on the ladder putting the Christmas lights up on the house?

00:03:58 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 1:

Oh, hell no. This is all about, you know what I did this entire weekend? I read Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish Letters. I had no time for doing anything. I didn't even go out doing any shopping before Christmas. I went out the day, or I'm sorry, after Thanksgiving for Black Friday. I went out the day before and did a little bit of, hey, let's walk around the mall and see what's going on. That was a bad idea. And then I decided, all right, I got to get to these letters. I read more than 1,500 letters. Let me say this to you. This is from a guy who has never read more than two books in my entire life. So I think I equate this to the fact that I've read enough books now for the rest of my life.

00:04:40 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 6:

No, no, no, no.

00:04:41 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 1:

And I want to say this to all of our listeners. I want you to know that year after year, our Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish program, all of us here on the show personally read your letters. So if you go to mojoswish.org, you can send us a letter. There's still time to do it. But today's the first day of Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish.

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

And boy, it was so exciting to see the fleet.

00:05:00 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 1:

of trucks out front and have that feeling like, oh, it starts. Today's the first wish. And to know that every year we grant more wishes than the year before. It's our personal mission to do more every year than we

00:05:12 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 2:

ever do. And today's a big one.

00:05:13 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 5:

Today's a very special one. Special thanks, by the way. I'm going to throw a quick plug out there because they deserve it to our friends from Red Robin, Imagine Theaters and Clean View Auto Wash as well as our friends from Kroger and a whole bunch of other great people. But thank you to Lydia and KP. So you guys last night slept here. Is that right? You guys all camped out to prepare for this?

00:05:40 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, my grandma let us borrow a cot, and we just camped out and locked the door.

00:05:45 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 5:

Do we have pictures? Do we post it on? I know you sent a text and stuff. We should make sure that those things get posted to our social media so people can see what things look like here in Santa's little workshop.

00:05:57 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 1:

We've all had to sleep here before for snow emergencies and blizzards and things because we have to tell everybody else what's going on. But this is new for producer KP and Lydia to sleep over just because there's so much work involved in all the work they had to do to prep for this first Christmas.

00:06:13 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

I'm jealous. I feel like I missed out on a girls' night, but I think I'm going to be sleeping here. Well, there's plenty more to come, Megan. Well, I think I'm going to be sleeping here next week. So if somebody wants to join me.

00:06:22 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 5:

So Lydia, what was it like to sleep with KP? First off, is she a snorer or what do we know?

00:06:28 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 3:

No, it was actually really peaceful.

00:06:30 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

Yeah? Did you snuggle or was there separation?

00:06:33 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that cot looked tiny.

00:06:35 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 3:

There was no snuggling, but I was worried that I was going to fart or something because I ordered a pizza for a smoke.

00:06:42 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 5:

And I'm not kidding when I say Santa's workshop. Lydia, you have been doing shopping extraordinaire on this thing. First off, let me say this. She personally, we've done wishes for many, many years. and all the people that have been part of breaking and entering Christmas wish over the years have done a fabulous job Lydia who has been a not only a long-time worker here at the station but she's a long-time listener of the show this is something for you Lydia that you have really taken personally like this is something that you when I said to you hey will you do me a favor will you head up this you in a second said yes and then you came up with ideas of what you wanted to do for all the

00:07:21 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 3:

families to help these families out yeah and i love to know exactly what they like what they want and everything in between so we can make this the best christmas really it's unbelievable

00:07:31 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 5:

the the heart that she pours into this and you can tell you can tell lydia's got an unbelievable mother and father because how she is you know with these families she's treating them like they're a member of her family but between you and then kp and then you know other people around the building here that are doing you know stuff for us and shannon and spike and megan and mike and everybody you know reese we could not do this if it wasn't for the fact that year after year we almost feel like we have this is our duty to end the year the right way with breaking entering christmas wish um unlike anything we do we put i mean listen we put a lot of attention into our phone scams and war of the roses and things that we do on the show promotions and stuff this is bigger than that this is lives human lives that we're dealing with yeah and many of these people this might be for them the last christmas that they're with a loved one you know many times we grant a wish and then god forbid that somebody ends up passing and we don't ever like that happening but at least we know that they had this huge smile we brought some joy yeah yeah and so and it's not even christmas it's listen it's november 28th this is one of the But it's Christmas, don't you feel? I know.

00:08:46 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 2:

I feel very much in the Christmas spirit. I can't. Can I tell you something, Shannon?

00:08:51 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 5:

I can't believe how Christmassy I feel right now. I feel so Christmassy. I've got Jack Frost coming out my butthole right now. It's unbelievable.

00:09:00 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 2:

Last week, and I don't know if we talked about this, but a lot of the commercials that we play have the bells or the Christmas music. And all of a sudden, it was quiet in the studio. It was just Mojo in the studio. And he's like, I feel so damn happy when I hear these commercials. It just makes me so happy.

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 5:

Something about the Kroger commercial makes me feel good, but I have no idea why.

00:09:19 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 2:

Who are you and what did you do with Mojo?

00:09:21 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 5:

I know.

00:09:23 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 2:

I think a lot of people need it this year. We need to feel that happiness, that hope.

00:09:28 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

Listen, one of the craziest letters that I got was a single mom who said, all I want for Christmas is if you guys can give me a gas card to be able to just put money in my gas tank, It will give me the ability to use the money that I make to go. And like, that's all she asked for. And I was like, oh my God, that's okay. We got to do something. We can do something big for that. But just that's all she wanted because she knows that how expensive that has been. And then there was one kid, one of my favorite wishes that came through a kid who asked.

00:10:00 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 1:

If we could find his mommy A man I called Steve Gabara right afterwards I said, Steve, Zod Ford

00:10:07 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 3:

Take one for that That's my future husband

00:10:10 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 1:

00:10:27 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 4:

So I had this 8-year-old Okay. And she's been begging to go to Jingle Ball. I wasn't able to get tickets for various reasons, but my sister got us two tickets. So I tell her the other day, I said, hey, Maddie, I got us some tickets for Jingle Ball. Her response is, an eight-year-old, backstreet, back, all right. I love it. Are you kidding me? I like it.

00:10:55 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 1:

That is so cool. God.

00:10:57 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 4:

So she's super excited

00:10:59 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 2:

Are you going to take her Or is your sister going to take her

00:11:03 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 4:

00:11:09 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 4:

Did you guys all have a good Thanksgiving? I think that was my southern thing. I hit my face off.

00:12:00 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 2:

I don't know about you, but I have to start fasting or dieting or something this week and change my lifestyle.

00:12:07 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 1:

See, I have to tell you, Chelsea and I have come to the conclusion that we are going to go out to eat now from now on on Thanksgiving. It took her so long to cook everything. And it took me and Joe and the boys, because Joe and his girlfriend and stuff, they were on their best behavior. They did dishes, which was unbelievable.

00:12:23 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that was very nice of them.

00:12:24 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 1:

Yes. They were definitely trying to win mom and dad over. But it took longer to do the dishes, longer to cook than it did to eat. We ate in like five seconds, it felt like. And honestly, I only had one helping of Thanksgiving. I couldn't believe it.

00:12:41 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 3:

You didn't go back for seconds? No seconds of stuffing? What's wrong with you?

00:12:44 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 1:

You know what? I ended up having, okay, when I put everything away into the refrigerator, I ended up putting it all in there. And then later that evening, I think it was right at the end of like the third game that was on of NFL games. I went in and I just got one little scoop of mashed potatoes and I ate those. And then the next day, I think I had a ham sandwich and that was it.

00:13:05 - 00:13:10 | Speaker 3:

By the end of the night, I had this serving bowl of corn and a spoon and I was just eating at it.

00:13:12 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 1:

I don't know what it was, but I think it was it was one of those things where it's like normally I would eat my face off Spike. And I think there was so much pre-stuff that was going on and so much pre-things like of preparing and stuff that made you so busy that you just couldn't, I don't know. And then it was such a busy weekend of things with the Lions playing on Thanksgiving and then that Michigan game was huge. Michigan-Ohio State game was huge. So we had, you know, like I was saying, we had the boys in town. um this will not surprise you which son it was but can you guess which son of mine set the smoke detector off every single morning at the same time it seemed like i'm going with your oldest joe yes you are going just a shot in the dark you are absolutely right but ready for this not for the reason that you think that it would be oh he wasn't smoking up he was not smoking up the kid So he was sleeping in the basement And his girlfriend Alyssa was sleeping In his bedroom upstairs So they were on separate floors They were abiding by mom and dad's rules Well Joe Loved the fact that He could take a shower not in his bathroom But he took a shower in one of The other bathrooms we have Like a guest bathroom And he would take such hot showers Oh my gosh That when he opened up the door To the bathroom It set the fire alarm off every single time that he would open up the door. So every single, I don't know, like 11 o'clock or 10 o'clock in the morning, our smoke detector would go off. And it would, like, wake up his older brother or, you know, his younger brothers that were, like, all still trying to sleep.

00:14:56 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

At 11 o'clock. Well, first of all, jealous. I know. They were sleeping in.

00:15:00 - 00:15:03 | Speaker 2:

happen in my apartment all of the time.

00:15:03 - 00:15:08 | Speaker 5:

It's like, why do they put the smoke alarm right outside the bathroom? That's a good shower.

00:15:08 - 00:15:09 | Speaker 6:

But it was like...

00:15:09 - 00:15:12 | Speaker 2:

It was unbelievable.

00:15:12 - 00:16:07 | Speaker 6:

First off, then nobody else had hot water for the rest of the day. Which was kind of interesting. So he would use all the hot water. The greatest is, you can tell how much of a gentleman he was. He would come upstairs and he'd go, I'm really sorry about the fact that I set the alarm off. And then his girlfriend would come downstairs and I would say, Alyssa, how was your shower and she goes it was cold and everybody else after that wasn't taking showers till like one o'clock until the hot water heater like reheat up reheated or whatever the word would be warmed up again yeah but it was so nice having them all come in everybody came in on Wednesday and then everybody left on Saturday like in the morning time and at first Chelsea and I were really depressed that they you know all we're going to leave early like that I cannot tell you how happy we were when they all left yeah it was there was something about the peace and quiet even Luke said I kind of like it with just

00:16:07 - 00:16:11 | Speaker 2:

us it's nice to have a day to recoup just rest

00:16:11 - 00:16:15 | Speaker 6:

and yeah did you guys have any visitors any of you guys have any visitors over at all

00:16:15 - 00:17:19 | Speaker 2:

I had well I hosted Thanksgiving this year and it was stressful because I'm not a great cook to begin with and I had people bringing things but I was still cooking like a good chunk of the stuff and Wes helped me which I was so grateful for um because he kind of like saved the day on a lot of things but there it was a big Thanksgiving for me because not only did I have you know my myself and my two kids but I had Wes and his two kids I had my mom and her boyfriend and his daughter and then I had my sister and my brother-in-law and my two nieces including my newest niece who is just a few months old and she um it's a really really big deal for her i haven't talked much about this her name's navy but it's a big deal for her to leave the house because she was born with some pretty severe special needs and so she's always hooked up to a lot of equipment and so for them to to disconnect her and bring all of the equipment to my house and set her up so she could be with us that day it was really really really cool it was very emotional that's That was awesome. Yeah. That was awesome. It was cool.

00:17:20 - 00:17:22 | Speaker 6:

And did everybody like your food?

00:17:22 - 00:17:39 | Speaker 2:

Everybody liked the food. My brother-in-law asked me three or four different times if my turkey was store-bought and already cooked because he was concerned about food poisoning, which it was. And my mom took rum chata shots all day. So she was great. She was feeling it. Rum chata peppermint bark.

00:17:39 - 00:17:41 | Speaker 6:

Wow. Yes. I've never heard that. That's good.

00:17:41 - 00:17:43 | Speaker 2:

She was real happy and just feeling herself.

00:17:43 - 00:17:47 | Speaker 6:

Wait a second. So your brother-in-law was happy that it was store-bought because he knew that if you
