00:01:58 - 00:01:59 | Speaker 6:

Alright, are you ready?

00:02:00 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 4:

You're listening to Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:02 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 6:

You're a doo-doo head. Here we go, down, down, here we go, down, down, it's showtime! we can't catch a break can we it's unbelievable it's like go from the polar vortex arctic freeze to snow that's causing for some crazy driving this morning. Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. How are you? Hope you have a great morning. Hope you're safe. This is dangerously like bad weather this morning. So as you're going anywhere, just give yourself a little extra time. Shannon, how long do you think that this is going to be our driving conditions, probably through the commute, huh?

00:03:32 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, for sure. Because they said scattered snow showers throughout the morning and afternoon. I truly had no idea that I was going to wake up to see several inches of snow on the ground. So if you are north of the city, it was a surprise to me, but it is like big, fluffy, white snow. And the road, especially the entrance and exit ramps, are so slippery. I slid right across the entrance ramp getting onto 75 this morning, and I was screaming in my car. It's really scary. Please be careful. And even

00:04:02 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 6:

worse than that is the fact that Lydia came in this morning and the people from iHeartTraffic that give us our traffic reports, Heather Pascal and all the gang, they all stole her parking spot

00:04:16 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 2:

today. Oh, no. I noticed that. She wasn't parked where she normally is. How early do they get here?

00:04:21 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 6:

They, well, their traffics start, I think, at like 5 a.m. or 4 a.m. So they got to be here doing it. And it's funny because I love having them here. Like, I love having people in the building compared to the old building where it was, you know, pretty much us and Allison and Chelsea from J Show.

00:04:38 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

Love them.

00:04:39 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

And Rhonda. Got to give Rhonda a shout out. Now it's like there's human beings. Like, it's nice to see them. But those human beings need to park a little bit further down the road. What if I did this? I haven't done this in a while. Well, it was a long time ago that I used to have my official Mojo parking spot. I actually have the.

00:05:00 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 1:

The wall hang and hung it up in our old office. What if I put that thing out there again, but have it for Lydia? Could I get Christos? How about, could Christos talk to Mayor Mike Duggan before he leaves office and ask? Am I echoing back at myself? No. Or is that just me?

00:05:22 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 2:

No, I'm good over here. It's you.

00:05:23 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

It sounds good. I'm echoing to myself then. I'm going to talk to Mayor Mike Duggan and do an official proclamation and the proclamation is going to be that Lydia gets her own parking spot on Orleans Street in Eastern Market

00:05:37 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 5:

I think that's fair

00:05:38 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 2:

we'll see if it happens we didn't even get invited to the ribbon cutting so good luck don't bring up

00:05:44 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 5:

valet and we were supposed to get certain parking did you ever believe did you ever believe that we were actually going to get valet do you remember when I used to say that

00:05:53 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 3:

you guys are all like you're being so negative I'm like, no, I'm just being realistic.

00:05:57 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 1:

So is a dream. Do you know I did the commercials for them? I actually did the commercials for them. They must not have gotten any action off of those commercials, so they probably quit or something. But it was crazy. You're right, by the way. False promises. False promises campaigned by Colleen Grant. You're going to get valet. Valet my ass.

00:06:21 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 4:

To be fair, my car is never clean enough for me to actually use the valet anyways.

00:06:26 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

I'd be too embarrassed. You know what? Honestly, I don't know if I'd want the valet to drive my car because I've seen valets drive them like they stole them.

00:06:35 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

But where would they park it at? The meat market? A lot.

00:06:39 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 1:

I think they have the lot that we, the lot that I, that I parking, Megan Parkson, Zach, KP. I don't, Kevin, are you in that lot or do you park on the street too?

00:06:49 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 2:

No, I got here early enough to get a spot up front, so I'm good.

00:06:52 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

Oh, so now we know who stole the spot. No, he actually stole my spot.

00:06:56 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 2:

I don't know if stole a spot is exactly the right word choice. I think if you get here early enough, because y'all always be here earlier than I do, then you get the spot that's available. You're right.

00:07:07 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 4:

I was a little later today. No, no. There's always spots, but I choose to park in that lot. I've never gotten a ticket down here.

00:07:14 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

It's not even a ticket. I almost lost the rear end of my vehicle. Yeah, that too. But I will go back to what Shannon and Kev were just talking about. I always defer spots, and Shannon knows this. I will not park in a spot that I know is her spot. Like, even in the old building, I would leave a spot empty for her, and it used to, it kind of hurt my heart when she would not see that spot, and she would pull into another spot, and I'd be like.

00:07:40 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 5:

You were so offended.

00:07:42 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 1:

It's like me holding a door open for you, and you don't. Have you ever had that happen? And what? I hold the door open for a lady at 12 Oaks Mall like a week or so ago. I'm like holding it, standing there, freezing my ass off. And she goes and walks to the other door.

00:07:58 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 4:

What vibes were you giving?

00:08:00 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 1:

I think she thought I was being like creepy or weird or something. I'm like, I'm just trying to be my dad. My dad told me to be a gentleman.

00:08:08 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 5:

I have noticed that people have not, men especially, have not been holding doors a lot lately. So my new thing is to say very loudly, thank you so much.

00:08:19 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

See, I said when they don't hold the door. Yeah. My thing is when you hold open the door for a woman and she doesn't say thank you. My response is you're welcome.

00:08:26 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Same thing. Very passive aggressive. I know it is.

00:08:31 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

You're welcome. And this is why people are choosing to use a different door. Because of both of you.

00:08:38 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

Wait. Hold on. So that's a good idea, though. I could be passive aggressive or something, right?

00:08:43 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 3:

or you could just be nice to be nice and not rub it in people's faces

00:08:47 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 1:

but my main goal is to just show that hey I really want to make your day better and her main goal is to say hey you look like a rapist or something

00:09:01 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 3:

but your goal is to make her day better but if you don't say thank you then I'm going to make sure that you know that I'm meant to make your day better and you should be grateful

00:09:11 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 2:

I think some people sometimes just aren't aware. Because nine times out of ten, when I say you're welcome, they'll say, oh, thank you. Oh, I'm sorry. Thank you.

00:09:22 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 1:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Has this ever been something that you've ever had to deal with? Like maybe you've had somebody not take a kind gesture or say thank you for the kind gesture. If that's ever happened, do you call them out for it? because i kind of like that approach i cab i wish i thought i was smart enough to think of that you know actually what i should have done is i should have pretend that she was there was an

00:09:48 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

invisible person i was letting in and go hey how you doing this world is so crazy because on one hand chivalry is dead men aren't gentlemen anymore they expect women to do that and then the other

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 7:

And I guess I'm passive-aggressive because I want my thank you.

00:10:03 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

Preach.

00:10:04 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 7:

You cool with not saying thank you, but then I get spit on for not holding the door open. Kevin. Which pill are you taking?

00:10:11 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 6:

Let me just say this to you. Us men need to go back to the caveman days, just being guys.

00:10:16 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 7:

Hit her over the head with a piece of wood and drag her to the caveman.

00:10:19 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 1:

I just believe that men used to go to war, and now men are going back and forth about whether they should get a thank you for holding the door open.

00:10:27 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 7:

What did women used to do? Lydia says men used to go to work. What did y'all used to do?

00:10:32 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 1:

We answer phones because that's what I'm doing right now.

00:10:34 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 7:

All right, we'll get back to it.

00:10:36 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 1:

We worked in the factories, right? We kept things running.

00:10:40 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 6:

You guys stayed home. You stayed home and looked pretty. We just need you to look pretty. Turned butter. Oh, my God. But I will go back to the whole parking thing. I try to, like, I think we all have been here long enough in this building, and also we've been long enough with the company, where we deserve to have the right to say that's our spots, right? I mean, and we can't have people screw it up, and that includes you, Kevin. I mean, listen, I think it's wonderful that you're here early.

00:11:17 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 7:

You can miss me with all that. I ain't hearing none of that. Wait, what did you say, Martell? If you get here early enough, you get to park where you park. Y'all spit on me all the time by how I'm showing up late. Now, not only do I get here early, I got to park further enough when this spot's available. The hell you don't want from me, dog?

00:11:33 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 6:

No, no. Here's the deal. Kev, if you can make it a pattern, then that officially becomes your spot, and we move Shannon down the parking list. I show you better than I can tell you.

00:11:43 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 5:

I am always here second. You are. It's Lydia and then me.

00:11:48 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 6:

Exactly. And usually that's kind of the game plan. And then it's myself and Megan and then KP and Zach and Kev way down usually. So you know what?

00:12:01 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 5:

I'm going to let him have the good sparking spot today. I'm going to let him have the good spot today. Are you going to say thank you for your own voice? Because I'm proud of him. Thank you for your generosity. I am proud of him for getting here early.

00:12:11 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 7:

Thank you, Shanna. Hold on, Billy. So kind of you.

00:12:14 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 6:

You're welcome. What's going on, Billy? It's Mojo in the morning. We're starting off, by the way, on a good note today. What's going on?

00:12:21 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 2:

Morning, everybody. Morning. So, Shannon says, you know, she has that little comment when a guy doesn't hold the door. But, you know, nowadays, women aren't that gracious, so I'm a big follower of the Me Too. You want your independence, that means you can open up a door. That is BS. Get off the phone. Because you're darned if you do, if you're darned if you don't.

00:12:42 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 4:

Comparing Me Too to Independence tells me you don't know what Me Too is or why that was an important movement.

00:12:49 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 6:

Slam the door in their face, Billy.

00:12:51 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 4:

Mother ever! Talking about not getting sexually harassed to opening a door is a wild, wild, terrible thing. Oh, my God. Women don't want to be harassed. That is ridiculous. Did he say I'm a big fan of the Me Too?

00:13:09 - 00:13:10 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God.

00:13:10 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 4:

They want independence from not being assaulted. Wild take. I'm a big fan of the Me Too.

00:13:16 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 6:

By the way, Billy is wearing his Me Too hat this year.

00:13:20 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 7:

Wild.

00:13:23 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Jay, let's grab Jay. Jay, what's happening there? Fine, sir.

00:13:28 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 7:

Hi, guys. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning, guys. Good morning.

00:13:33 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 6:

Sorry, Me Too. I'm calling him. No genders.

00:13:36 - 00:13:37 | Unknown:

Well.

00:13:37 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 4:

Well, I deliver for a living. and yesterday I had to get into one of my apartment buildings and there was an elderly gentleman in the lobby and he graciously went out of his way to open the doors to me and then to unlock the inner door and engage me in conversation. And as I'm replying to him, he turns around and nodding towards me, oh, you're welcome. Like, I'm still going to have a conversation with you. You didn't even give me a chance.

00:14:04 - 00:14:12 | Speaker 6:

Wow, that's unbelievable. So the guy actually did the whole Kev, you're welcome thing, thinking that you weren't going to say hi, but you're talking to him. Come on, buddy. Open up your ears.

00:14:13 - 00:14:13 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:14:14 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 3:

That's crazy.

00:14:15 - 00:14:23 | Speaker 6:

Hey, have a great day, Jay. Be safe. What's up, bud? Eric, hi. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show, Eric.

00:14:24 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. First time, long time.

00:14:27 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 7:

Hey, Eric's on the phone. Thank you for calling, Eric.

00:14:32 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 3:

Listen to a Megan back in Toledo in the day. I am south of Toledo a little ways listening on the iHeart app.

00:14:37 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 4:

I appreciate you. Thank you.

00:14:40 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 3:

We love you, too. I had a lady tell me that it is 2024. She's perfectly capable of opening her own door at the mall the other day.

00:14:51 - 00:14:57 | Speaker 5:

And then you turn around and you shove her onto the ground and you close the door and you lock it and you run away. And did you also say, ma'am, it's 2025?

00:15:00 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 6:

I was like, that's what I said. I've always been a nice guy. Sorry. That's crazy, though. That's crazy that somebody would take you holding the door open as a non-nice gesture. I don't know. It's nuts. Lo, is chivalry dead? Lo? Lo or Lo?

00:15:24 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 9:

Lo? What? That's you.

00:15:26 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 8:

What's up? Mo. Mo.

00:15:28 - 00:15:48 | Speaker 9:

Moe, I don't know why we said Moe. No, Chivory is not dead. I'm one of those sarcastic persons. If I sneeze and you don't say bless you, oh, bless you. Thank you so much. I'm talking to myself. Oh, thank you for opening the door. I don't care if I am a woman.

00:15:49 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 8:

Your mom and daddy teach you certain things. Come on, now. Do what you need to do. Be respectful. Period. Point blank.

00:15:56 - 00:16:06 | Speaker 6:

Love it. Period, Moe. And, Mo, I apologize for calling you the wrong name there. I think we misheard you when you called. But, Mo, I appreciate women like you. I love women like you.

00:16:06 - 00:16:12 | Speaker 9:

I love you guys. You guys are lit in the morning. I don't know what y'all drinking, but y'all lit.

00:16:13 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 6:

Holy water. And listen to this. Thank you for calling, Mo. I hear that. See that? Just hang up, Mo. Just hang up.

00:16:23 - 00:16:53 | Speaker 5:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:17:33 - 00:18:18 | Speaker 3:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or any 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

00:18:18 - 00:18:25 | Speaker 4:
