Mojo in the morning. Poor Shannon, this has been day number five of no power. You and a lot of people. I saw them talk about this. This is such a big story, the loss of power in Michigan. I saw the national news say that this is the second largest power outage in the history of the state. Because that storm was so bad last week, the ice storm. And now we're getting another ice storm later today.

00:01:30 - 00:01:40 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, I woke up this morning and they had said throughout the weekend that we would get our power back today. And then I woke up this morning and they changed it to tomorrow. I am about to lose my mind.

00:01:40 - 00:01:54 | Speaker 2:

Of the 50 states, Michigan ranks sixth in the longest power outages. And it's just because we have some older cities that they still had all these electric power lines that they really should have buried years ago with all the ice and snow we get on a yearly basis.

00:01:54 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 8:

I think the majority of our local listening area here is above ground. And I think that it's the select few newer neighborhoods that kind of go below.

00:02:08 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, like my old neighborhood in Walled Lake, my new neighborhood in Southfield, they're buried. But you have to get the power from other towns that it goes through first that have electric power lines up there.

00:02:20 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 8:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. If you're still out of power right now, you're probably, you know, too pissed off to even call us up for this, you know, topic. But what is the most superficial thing you miss not having power? Because I will tell you this, last summer I lost a bunch of power. And it always, for me, was if Comcast Xfinity was out, that would be the end all be all. Like, I could, in the summertime especially, I could do without power. I don't really care. Don't take my Wi-Fi away. Because then I have to talk to my family. Right. And I don't, you know what I mean? Like, I don't want to have to associate with that.

00:02:56 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 2:

I had so much work to do this weekend, and it was all involving internet. And I realized, like, you know, my girlfriend works from home, and she can just take her laptop to Starbucks. She could do her conference calls, but she can't play Nintendo. Yeah.

00:03:09 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 8:

The power is out. That would be a tough one. Annette, you know the feeling, right? What's the most superficial thing you miss with no power?

00:03:15 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. So I work overnight. I'm a caregiver. And when I come home every morning I actually watch TV In order to fall asleep So I stayed in my house for four days With no heat And mad as hell Because I couldn't go to sleep without the TV

00:03:31 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 3:

How did you do that?

00:03:35 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 8:

Chelsea sleeps with a sound machine When the power would go out We didn't have the sound machine to make noise So that was a tough one Oh this is a definite necessity Beverly what is it that you miss When the power is out?

00:03:48 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 5:

Running, water, and the ability to flush the toilet.

00:03:52 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 8:

You must live with a well. I was going to say, yeah, we have a well, too. Yeah.

00:03:57 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. It was having to go after 24 to 30 hours of four toilets filling up, having to go buy the big five-gallon jug to fill the back so you can flush it.

00:04:11 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 8:

We told the kids don't flush, and it got a little stanky after a while.

00:04:15 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 5:

I didn't know.

00:04:17 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 8:

Nicola.

00:04:18 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 7:

Hi, good morning.

00:04:20 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 8:

Good morning. Hi, what do you miss?

00:04:22 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God, my coffee maker. Oh, girl. Yeah. That's a good one.

00:04:26 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 8:

That's a great one. Don't mess with Mama's coffee maker.

00:04:30 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 7:

For real, you're already cold, so you want to wake up to some hot coffee, at least drink it at night before you go to bed now. Yeah, right. And I can't get me my hot coffee because it's different from going to Starbucks. I need to have my coffee made with bottled water, not tap water. So

00:04:45 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 8:

Speaking of bougie Patty, what is it that you miss? My heated toilet tea Oh

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

Wow

00:04:59 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 8:

People are trying to

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 4:

People are trying to get water and heat.

00:05:02 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 5:

I just want heat.

00:05:04 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 3:

You have a heated toilet seat?

00:05:07 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 5:

Oh, good. I know. We're just joking. You're right.

00:05:10 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 3:

You're right. We did ask for those superficial calls.

00:05:13 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 5:

Let me tell you, Patty, we've gotten several text messages from our female listeners who say they can't charge their vibrators. Oh, my God. Oh, no. Shh.

00:05:24 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 4:

We need to get the car chargers out. For the kids, that's a massager. A massager. It's a neck massager.

00:05:29 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

You're not sure for your back or neck.

00:05:30 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, although this is a tough one. Judith, hi.

00:05:34 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

Hi. Yeah, so I had to take my reptiles to my boyfriend's house because, you know, they need lights. They need heat lamps.

00:05:41 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 4:

I never thought about that. You could lose animals, right?

00:05:44 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 2:

Yes, you can actually fish. I used to work at a pet store, and a lot of people would lose fish and stuff, and it was pretty crazy. And, yeah, his mom wasn't very thrilled.

00:05:53 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 4:

Oh, geez. Can you imagine? She's laughing. How big is your reptile?

00:06:00 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 2:

No, I have a few. So there's at least, like, three tanks, you know, like a couple of us.

00:06:05 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 4:

And if you're not a reptile type person, like I'm not, I would be like, keep it out in the garage. Joy. Yeah. Hi, Joy. What is it that's the hardest thing for you when the power's out?

00:06:20 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

The inability. Everybody's cussing today.

00:06:23 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I get it. Listen, you were cussing, too.

00:06:26 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

You didn't hear me before the show. Yeah. I will F you up, bitch Oh, it was worse than that

00:06:32 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

Poor Shannon and you without your power I'm about to lose my mind Alright, well, you take care of yourself Yeah

00:06:40 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 5:

Thank you guys, love you

00:06:43 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 4:

Yeah

00:06:43 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 5:

Tony said we have a Tempur-Pedic bed And I can't move it

00:06:47 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 4:

00:06:49 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 5:

Oh, what if your bed was stuck in the seat He's dribbling the ball

00:06:56 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:
