Well, tonight I am asking for prayers, all of my prayer warriors, because I have Smith's eighth birthday party at Urban Air. Jesus saved me.

What is Urban Air for anybody that doesn't know what Urban Air is?

It's one of those places that has, like, go-karts and zip lines and trampolines and foam pits.

Yeah, a lot of fun stuff for kids.

Like, all the things. And Sweet Smith, he's never really had a friend birthday party. He's never been interested. Oh, yeah. So, we've either done, like, he'll have his bestie, Lou, come to his party, like, quote-unquote party. I'll take them, you know, somewhere together. But he's never actually invited kids from his class. So, tonight is, he's so excited. and I'm like, 7.45 p.m. could not come fast enough.

It's so funny. That's the party's very strict end time. I think Luke, years ago, if they were around that long ago...

I think they were newer, but there's been a lot of similar places to it.

He had a party one time there that he went to, and I lost him. I couldn't find him because it's one of those places where there's so many people that are there, you don't know. You've got to keep track of them. So this is 10 little boys. He didn't have clean socks on, and you had to wear socks.

They give them to you now as part of the party package. This is 10 little boys that I am responsible for. And I already told Luce. I was like, Lucy, you got to help me. And I tried to recruit Wes, but Wes isn't usually done with work till 6. And the party starts before then. So I'm like, Wes, you have to come immediately from work to Urban Air to help me here.

You're the only adult that'll be there?

Well, I mean, Wes is coming. But I'm like, you need to get out of work early for this and help me.

Why are you dreading this so much? because of the amount of kids that are going to be there?

No, because you know these types of places are not my favorite places in the world.

Chuck E. Cheese, David Buster's. Oh, my God. I'd rather do my taxes than go there. That's right. When Smith was like, I want to do my party at Urban Air, I was like, are you sure? You don't want to do, like, Imagine and do a movie party.

I remember a couple weeks ago you talked about going rock climbing, and you said how much you loved that experience.

This Dino Detroit next to the radio station? Trust me, I proposed that, Kev. This has one of those type of things. You like that activity hands-on. You went hiking for your honeymoon. I like that activity, not 20 different activities that I'm going to be running to and from.

I used to hate the parties at Chuck E. Cheese's because of I felt like it was a lot of stress of trying to keep track of other kids and, you know, make sure everybody's got the appropriate tokens and all the rest of that stuff. And then and then I also hated it. And it's funny because some people think that.

That's the best pizza ever. I hated the food and stuff that they had there. But I remember, I think honestly, the party that's the worst party that I think I've ever gone to and I went to for our little neighbor down the street was that fairy tale place that where they- What is that? Where they had like Spider-Man and all that stuff. And the kids loved it. It was like the great- Any party that's bad for the parents is great for the kids. Oh, for sure.

That's why I know tonight's party is going to be epic for Smith.

Yeah. To that point, that was like me at CJ Barrymore's. Because there's so many different places to go. See, I love C.J. Barrymore's. But I'm saying, when you talk about parents being night, bruh.

C.J. Barrymore's is like a manageable Cedar Point. Like, it's got fun stuff.

But it's so much stuff to do.

It's like Cedar Point without having to get in the car and drive a fire. You know? Have you ever taken your kids to any of the indoor water park places at all? Nah. Kalahari. I remember taking, so one of Jacob's parties was a Kalahari party, and we had to go there and we had to stay overnight because from Detroit to Kalahari is like going to Cedar Point, right? So we went there, stayed there. I had to stay with the kids, and then they had like a Rocky Mountain candy thing inside the lobby of the place.

Oh, yeah, yeah. That cost me as much as the room taking the kids to the thing.

I was like, I called Chelsea up, and I go, Chelsea, our credit card did not get stolen. I literally just spent $300.

And let me tell you, you guys know, I sound like such a grouch about this. I love being a mom. I love everything having to do with being a mom, except for these kind of birthday parties.

Hey, I've been to a lot of birthday parties, and I think Shannon should just stop somewhere and get 10 matching shirts of whatever color that she can see easily and keep track of those kids.

And I'm a crazy person about, like, when I'm in charge of somebody else's child, they are not out of my sight. So I know that I'm going to be sweating by the end of this thing.

when i do birthday parties the the parents of the children have to come because i feel like watching other people's kids in a public place like that is a huge responsibility and if anything happens it's on me so yeah their parents have to come as well i wonder if some

some of the parents may stay i don't know because we'll see that's all i gave them the option well

that's always the etiquette thing do you you know when do you as a parent you know stay and when do You as a parent just get to drop off your kid and say, screw it. I'm going to go shopping or something, you know. Right.

I feel like when they're old enough to leave them on their own, that's when you could leave them at the party, you know.

I got so in trouble as a dad. It was a Saturday morning party at some place in Royal Oak where they were making pots and pans or something. And I dropped off. I don't remember which kid it was. I think it was Luke. And Chelsea goes, where are you? And I said, I'm hanging in downtown Royal Oak right now. I've never got a chance to, like, just kind of be a guy doing stuff. And she goes, get back there.

We don't know this family. That's the key. You got to scope out the family a little bit. Make sure you can trust them.

Yeah, so why aren't the other kids' parents gay? They're only eight. Whenever I have parties, most of the parents stay.

So the parents are all, like, really, are they really close to you and stuff like that?

Some yes, some no.

Yeah. Yeah, I agree with that. I think that would lessen the stress on Shannon, although then Shannon feels like she has to entertain the other adults. And you can't yell at their kids like you want to yell at their kids. Like you little rat bastard. No, I would never.
