This is kind of wild. So our very own Zach from the show is giving Shannon some help, little tips, and some advice on the elf on the shelf. Oh, do we have kids listening? If kids are listening, take them away from the radio for a second. But I think this is one that parents can relate to here right now. What's going on, Shannon?

00:02:26 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 2:

So, I don't know how this happened, but Zach is friends with the three elves that we have in my house. Rice Krispie Treat, Freddy, and Candy Cane Sprinkles are their names.

00:02:37 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 6:

Do you think that they do, like, partying together?

00:02:41 - 00:02:42 | Speaker 2:

I don't know.

00:02:42 - 00:02:45 | Speaker 6:

Do you think they do trivia together? No, I don't. Shots of eggnog, yeah.

00:02:45 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Smoke weed? Mistletoe.

00:02:48 - 00:02:52 | Speaker 6:

Zach, come in studio. Come in studio because I can't hear your mic on the radio when you're talking from in there.

00:02:53 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 2:

I am so thankful for that friendship, by the way, and that direct line of communication between Zach and the elves. What are the elves' names again? Rice Krispie Treats was the original one that came to visit us when Lucy was three years old. And then we got a second helper elf a couple of years ago, Candy Cane Sprinkles. And then when I got married, Wes's elf came to our house as well, and that's Freddy. So we now have three.

00:03:16 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 5:

Freddy's my favorite. Freddie is your favorite. Freddie is the most.

00:03:20 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, Freddie is trouble.

00:03:25 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 2:

He's pretty naughty. But this morning, I could not find the elves. And I finally found them in my kitchen. And one of the items that Smith asked for on his Christmas list this year, aside from the Cybertruck that I already talked about that he's not getting, was an Apple Watch. And so the elves had made Apple watches for both Lucy and Smith out of actual apples.

00:03:54 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 6:

Oh, that's great.

00:03:56 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 2:

And apparently, Zach was behind this idea. Really?

00:04:01 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 6:

Look at you.

00:04:03 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 5:

Zach, are you like an elf helper? So I used to do it for my niece and nephew. I help their elf. And I just love it. What is their elf's name? Buddy, I think. Wait, you don't know their elf's name? No, it's been a couple. Everybody.

00:04:21 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 2:

I love the ones that are not very creative. It's like Elfie. Buddy.

00:04:26 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 6:

Let's do this. Call us up and shout out your elf. I want to know your elf's names because people always have crazy names. One of my favorites was the kid that was friends with Luke and his elf's name was Frank. It was just like, that's Frank. And they would talk about Frank like Frank was like a family member. I was like, is that your uncle? Like, who is it?

00:04:44 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 2:

Honestly, that's Rice Krispie Treat. I mean, she's been a part of our family since Lucy was three years old. Seven years now, eight years going down.

00:04:50 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

By the way, this is interesting because I've often wondered this. Would you ever trust, I know you trust Zach around your elves. Would you ever trust Zach to like baby?

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 2:

besits smith at all or absolutely a hundred percent would you they would have the best time let's go that's great with kids but zach would you make sure that you uh you weren't grabbing

00:05:10 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 1:

some edibles beforehand or come on no no i wouldn't do that but i sent zach a picture at like

00:05:15 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 4:

4 a.m of what our elves did and he was like yeah oh my god by the way i gotta tell you something

00:05:20 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 2:

anybody that doesn't think that they're creative talk to moms with these damn elves on the shelves This is pretty freaking creative. That's unbelievable. What a great one. By the way, he wants an Apple Watch. Wait, is this the same Apple Watch that you bought and it turned out to be a scam or something?

00:05:39 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

It wasn't a scam. I'm just an idiot when it comes to technology. And I did get Smith an Apple Watch for Christmas. But during Black Friday, Walmart had this deal that was like $140 for an Apple Watch. And I was like, heck, yeah, that's the cheapest I've seen by far. Sign me up. So immediately clicked purchase. Got it. Took it to the AT&T store to get it all set up with like a number and service and stuff. And the guys, shout out to Michael and John at the AT&T store on Woodward and Birmingham, by the way. They're amazing. But they were like, Shan, this watch doesn't have cellular capability, and that's why it was so cheap. That's why it was $100. So you need to return it and get your money back.

00:06:20 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 2:

This watch just tells time.

00:06:22 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, they're like, if you just want him to tell time and know how many steps he got in for the day, this is your watch.

00:06:30 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 2:

That was not an Apple watch. That was a Snapple watch.

00:06:34 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 3:

If you have a cell phone, those are super cheap and super convenient.

00:06:37 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 4:

But if you're doing it in replacement of a cell phone, like for kids. Smith does not have a cell phone. I just want him to be able to call me from his dad's house, and I want to know where he is.

00:06:46 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 2:

Hold on. Mitchell, are you there? Hello. Oh, Michelle. I'm sorry. It looked like it was Michelle. Michelle. Oh, she forgot the E at the end of it. What is the...

00:06:58 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 5:

First time, long time. Hey, there's still on the phone.

00:07:03 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 2:

What is your elf's name? Shout out the elves this morning.

00:07:08 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 5:

It's Billy the Bus Elf. I'm a bus driver, and I do something different every morning for my kids on the bus. Stop.

00:07:17 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 3:

I love that.

00:07:18 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 2:

What's the craziest thing that Billy's ever done on that bus?

00:07:22 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 5:

um he was hanging from the ceiling and he had his eyes to where he was watching every student so that day this particular day the kids happened to be really really well oh that's great so he

00:07:36 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

makes sure that they sit on their seats right they don't they're not turning around they're

00:07:40 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 5:

not jumping around that's good i like that idea so when yesterday he was in a container because i have a few students that think farting on the bus is funny so i put him in a container and said he couldn't come out because they were stinky.

00:07:57 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 2:

Ah, that's great. I love that the kids are farting on the bus.

00:08:01 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 3:

And clearly talking about it.

00:08:03 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's great. Brett, what's going on, Brett? You wanted to make a comment on Zach with Smith's Elf? Yeah.

00:08:11 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 1:

So what is the strangest thing you've had an elf do, Zach? Okay, so I crushed... Okay, I had candy beans and then I crushed them up and then I had him doing cocaine?

00:08:24 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 3:

No, disappear.

00:08:25 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

Like it was his body and then it just vanished. Oh, really? Into a crack candy cane. Jordan Lines? Yeah, no. Well, not bad. He's doing cocaine. No.

00:08:37 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 3:

He didn't act as standard. Me and Frank, we're crazy.

00:08:44 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

Crystal, shout out the elf this morning here on the Mojo in the Morning Show.

00:08:48 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 5:

Hi, first time, long time. Yay! I have Damien Ryder, Trixie Voyager, and Elfie is my reindeer.

00:09:00 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 4:

Trixie Voyager sounds like a stripper.

00:09:02 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 2:

A stripper.

00:09:04 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 4:

Or an amazing drag queen. Thank you. Tracy Vidal, thank you.

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 2:

That's fantastic.

00:09:09 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's great.

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

What a great mom you are, Crystal.

00:09:13 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

Thank you. Okay, Smith is up, and he just discovered the elves. Can I call him really quick? Yeah, let's do it. Okay, let's see. Let me see if I can.

00:09:20 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 2:

Can you dial him on your phone and put your phone right up to the mic there?

00:09:24 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 4:

Oh, no, I have it connected.

00:09:25 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 2:

Oh, you do? I don't think it will, unfortunately, work. I don't know. You can try it. Oh, dang it. Oh, good, it does.

00:09:31 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 4:

Let me see if they'll answer. There you go. He may not hear you, though. But apparently he's freaking out.

00:09:35 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:09:36 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 4:

Oh, come on. Oh, here we go. Hi. Hi. This is everybody meet Bren.

00:09:42 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 3:

Hi, Bren.

00:09:42 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 4:

This is my most amazing nanny in the morning.

00:09:45 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 5:

She's FaceTiming. Come here.

00:09:49 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 4:

Hi, Smith. hey smith you're on the radio what what were the elves doing this morning

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

i can't hear her yeah

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 8:

He can hear you.

00:10:01 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 5:

Here, put it on the speaker. Smith. Yeah, there's some kind of a setting, weird setting thing that I've got to figure out in the next year. Dang it.

00:10:10 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 8:

Okay.

00:10:11 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 5:

Smith. Here, pick. Is it on your phone?

00:10:14 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 8:

No, it's on the iPad.

00:10:15 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 5:

On the iPad?

00:10:16 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 8:

Can you hear Mojo?

00:10:17 - 00:10:18 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:10:18 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 5:

Okay. Hey, Smith. What did your elf do?

00:10:26 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 7:

You have to say it because we can't see you remember, so you have to talk about it.

00:10:30 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 6:

There was apples, and then there was, like, kind of like a watch. And then there was, they write, we made you Apple watches.

00:10:45 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 5:

Wow.

00:10:46 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 6:

Just like you wanted. And there's gum on the sides to make the watch.

00:10:52 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 5:

That's cool.

00:10:52 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 6:

Like the sides, and then.

00:10:54 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

Smith, what's the reasoning? Why do you think that your elf did that with the Apple watch?

00:11:00 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 6:

Because I probably want one.

00:11:03 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 5:

Oh, you do. Probably.

00:11:05 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 6:

Is that not what you asked for? Because I think you got what you asked for, right? An Apple Watch. And it's seedless. I mean, I do like Ruth. I do like Ruth.

00:11:16 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 5:

I love you, honey. Real quick, I've got to ask Smith one last question. Smith, can I ask you one last question?

00:11:21 - 00:11:22 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:11:22 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 5:

Honestly. Honestly. Honestly. No one wants to think about HIV, but there are things that everyone can do to help prevent it. Things like PrEP. PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. And it means routinely taking prescription medicine before you're exposed to HIV to help reduce your chances of getting it. PrEP can be about 99% effective when taken as prescribed. It doesn't protect against other STIs, though, so be sure to use condoms and other healthy sex practices. Ask a health care provider about all your prevention options and visit findoutaboutprep.com to learn more. Sponsored by Gilead.
