is our driver in trouble who is this guy who just hit us and um he stops his car he gets out um and he did not um english did not appear to be his first language there's somewhat of a language barrier we're trying to use kind of like a google translate program on a phone to explain to him sir it would appear that you uh were violating the law here in that you went around this car that was stopped with its hazards on and you went into the side of the road that is for traffic that's coming in this direction, and in doing so, you know, peeled the door off of this poor guy's Lyft. Also, Leo was our driver, and he was an older guy. I think he spoke Russian as his first language. And as soon as we knew that Scott was alive and had not lost an arm, and by the way, I'm not even trying to be dramatic. This could have been a lot worse. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, the first thought was like, oh, shit, is my Lyft ranking going to go down? Because that was the one that called the car. I was like, am I going to lose standing with Lyft? And I was like, wait, is my almost brother-in-law going to lose an arm? And I was like, oh, my God, this could have been if he would have just stepped out of the car and this happened, this would have been such a worse situation. So at least we're only dealing with like property damage. But the guy pulls over and he gets out and we're all trying to kind of explain to him, hey, buddy, like this is, you know, what you did here is not acceptable. And just so you know, and he was trying to again, we was real language barrier. He was trying to make some case or whatever at some point while we're sort of talking to him and Scott is kind of taking care of Leo We're trying to get Leo's door back on the Prius So at least he can get the car home or to the repair shop, you know As we're like talking to the guy who who who crashed into our car This couple comes over and I don't know why this sticks with me But the guy was holding an aerobee, you know that like yellow disc thing that you can throw super far kind of oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah more aerodynamic this guy with an aerobee comes over and says hey i just want to let you know that guy almost hit us when we were crossing the street and he was on his cell phone and we're like okay could you please stay right here and can we please get your information so now we're building the case against this guy which is somebody volunteered the fact that he was on his phone and almost hit them while they were just trying to as pedestrians
